4 Stars: It's All About The Filet Mignon... (by Leilani S.)

Let's start with the good: the service was fantastic (as expected!) and their filet mignon is absolutely heavenly!!! Their red pepper and crab bisque is delightful, but the 5-star menu items stop here.

The mixed berries salad (blueberries, raspberries and strawberries) was good, but not spectacular, just like their grilled artichoke, which was actually two small artichokes cut in half, drizzled with olive oil.

The bad is that they actually "forgot" to bring out the scalloped potatoes (we told them to forget it after we mentioned it to them) and I sent back my original order of an end cut of prime rib because it was tough and tasteless.

I'd definitely come back for their filet mignon, crab bisque and excellent service if I'm in downtown Pleasanton craving a superb steak dinner!

4 Stars: Nice Fancy Joint for a Night Out (by Andrew S.)

When my wife and I are looking for a place that's kind of "special" to go out in Pleasanton, Hap's Original Steaks & Seafood is always on the list. While one of the pricier restaurants in Pleasanton, the food quality is always fairly high and, despite the hotel-restaurant decor in the front room, the ambience has pretty good energy. I recommend dining at the bar which is always enjoyable. Definitely a good place to take the parents when they're in town or when you're looking for a nice place to have a fancy cocktail. The steaks are great. One issue I have is that the great old-fashioned sign out front is misleading. When you walk in you expect the decor to be more like your standard old-fashioned steak joint and it's more modern. If you can get past that you'll have a good time.

5 Stars: A fabulous experience in Pleasanton (by by jathan at Citysearch)

My wife and I love the ambiance at Haps, great service, food, wine list, cocktails, deserts, everything is great. Try the macaroni and cheese and the chocolate souffle, both to die for.

5 Stars: Excellent huge dinner portions ! (by by ehallyut at Citysearch)

The steaks are excellent and the portions are huge. The price for dinner was a bit high, but the food, ambience, and service was worth every penny.

Great place for anniversaries, valentines, dates, birthdays, etc...

5 Stars: Best little Steakhouse in a great little town (by by portuwop at Citysearch)

The food is incredible. I tried just about everything on the menu, steaks, lamb, veal, chicken & fish and cannot get enough. To top it off, the wine list is impeccable.
