This WAS a fine restaurant at one time. The service and presentation are still very good, the portions are generous, but the taste of the cooked food is not. The green salad was crisp and tasty. We ordered two standard dishes which should have been safe: Rack of lamb and porterhouse steak. They both looked very attractive on the well-filled large plates. But one lamb chop was tasteless, a second was bitter. Neither tasted anything like lamb. I sent it back and ordered the grilled salmon instead. The porterhouse steak was tender and done right. But it was immersed in an unfortunate brown sauce that swamped any trace of a steak taste. It was garnished with pearl onions that were hard, bitter and inedible. The salmon took over 20 minutes to arrive, was dry, over cooked and had little taste. The rice was good.
Despite the magnificent view and attentive service this was a disaster. The sparse attendance in the large, lovely, but almost empty rooms suggest that serious revisions in the kitchen are needed immediately.

Valentines Dinner, not too great. The food was too salty and too pricy. I have a Saturday Brunch coming up in April so we'll see how that goes. I heard it's actually pretty good so I'm gonna give it another shot.

Pros: Parking, View, Drinks, Music

Cons: Food, Too Quiet for my Taste, Bathroom was too far from where we sat

Sunday brunch seems like Saturday's leftovers. HS Lordships on Sunday is a good place to watch people consume as much as possible in the LONGEST time possible. The average person goes thru about 5 plates in a meal. It's average food. Guess if you were about to go on hunger strike this is the place you'd stop beforehand.

If you want to enjoy a good sunday brunch, Hs lordships in a great place. Tucked away in Berkeley over looking the bay, hs lordships offers a great Sunday champagne brunch. With omelets, chicken cooked in a number of ways and seafood everywhere, it's a great place to go. My only grief is the 30.00 price tag but for a special occasion, it's worth it.

PROS: good food, great atsmophere
CONS: a little expensive

For one thing there was no informative mention to why the restaurant was named H's Lordships instead of "His Lordships". The view of the Bay from inside the restaurant is wonderful but the decor (curtains, music, carpet, restrooms, etc.) are outdated and the food is bland, salty, and too strong. If you don't mind paying a buck for clam chowder or onion soup that needs to be diluted just for the view this is the place to go.

Pros: Good view, Good Parking, Friendly Staff

Cons: Expensive, Bland Food, Outdated Decor

under dim light, the restaurant is very romantic. the main dining room has a large fireplace with fire burning during most nights. the views are great and the noise level is low. the food is average and prices are moderate high. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet, calm, romantic dinner out.
