Burn's is getting better! I was helped by a young lady who got my medications quickly and provided me with great customer service. I've never seen her before this month, so I'm guessing she was new. Either way, she was very personable. When I needed some of my medications delivered, she made sure they went out that same day. The staff is also friendly and courteous. Been with Burns before, and staying with Burn's in the long run.

My uncle is 85 and mostly home bound. He just had surgery two days ago and had two prescriptions needing to be filled, one being an antibiotic. He says he has used this pharmacy for 30 years. I called my uncle to inquire about his condition and he told me he called the pharmacy early yesterday to pick up the prescription from his home and they never showed up. He called again this morning and it's now 12:15 p.m. and they still have not arrived and they close at 2:00 p.m.

I called the pharmacy, being too far away geographically to be there to help, and the girl/woman I talked to said she didn't know what happened yesterday but they were on their way but since they closed soon she had no way of knowing if they would have the prescription back to him... and, oh BTW, they are closed tomorrow, Sunday. She seemed totally indifferent that he could come down with an infection; he has a broken arm; before being able to get the prescription filled on Monday.... four days after the surgery.

I took care of my father in his 80's and I know how susceptible they are to infections. I am appalled as to their seeming indifference to his condition. It was if they totally didn't care one way or the other.

Worst performing and most expensive pharmacy in Lancaster and the surrounding area. Pharma techs are either incompetent or handicapped and management is unconcerned with their performance.

Very Bad Service! They let prescriptions sit on their shelves for weeks, when they are supposed to be delievered promptly. Very unreliable and rude!
Do not recommend this pharmacy to anyone!

Delivery.... Sometimes it arrives, sometimes not. This week, I ordered a refill to be delivered on Monday...I give them a day or so because it was 3:30pm when I called, and it's a medication that has to be compounded. Still not delivered today, Thursday, will pick it up tomorrow...
Another time I said I'd pick it up, I got there just in time--before the delivery guy was going to take it to be delivered!!

I agree with the situation in store--not knowing who is going to ring you up or what have you. And then being treated like, "hurry up!" Staff is stressed out in this place.
I've had both friendly and rude service at Burns pharmacy.
I've also felt like the pharmacist didn't have time to answer a question I had, in fact I had to take the clerk's word for it.

The only reason I use Burns is, it's a compounding pharmacy. Will look for the home hormone saliva test next time I go there, though. The shop does have many things other stores just don't have.

Burns has taken a turn for the worst! I used to go there because they delivered my medication for free, which saved me in a lot of ways but, on another note when you need to go get something from the pharmacy its an absolute nightmare! You are never sure who is helping you and who is just not doing their job. There used to be a delivery guy who I would actually enjoy to see, he was always polite and never made me feel rushed, He was always asking how i was doing and he even took the time to get to know me a bit. Then again on the other hand there are other drivers who would treat me as a drop off, and there would be no conversation or professionalism, I felt like i was just getting thrown the prescription, they would ask for the money and not even wait to see if I could get all of the medicine bottles open or even if I received them all. I heard from one of the other boys that his boss (Dan), I believe his name is, fired him, I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT! My time with Burns Pharmacy was over, I switched to Desert Drugs and even though I pay a small fee for delivery now, I still think of that delivery guy and how patient and caring he was not only towards me, but his effort and understanding of his job. If there was ever a problem where a medication didn't arrive with the other medications at once he would take the time to call and make sure that it was either coming to me later in the day or if I forgot to call in because of refills, It didn't matter to him if he had to make another trip, he would even sometimes ring it within the hour because of some kind of mix up at the pharmacy. You can tell when someone is trying to give you the best service, and when someone is trying to get away with doing the minimum. The owner will not find someone with those same qualities for a long time, I do not even hear a thank you or good bye any more. The delivery guys at Burns before I left were just to much in a rush and I am older and I do need some time to get the money out, but there is no reason for a sigh or a deep irritated breath. It started to honestly make me nervous when they came because they let you know that they are there for one thing only, and that's to drop off and make cash, It didn't used to be this way, It seems nobody cares about the customer care or service anymore, and Burns has a lot of work to do in that department before i would even consider coming back to the pharmacy part of the store. I'm glad that I did not have to feel the anguish as the person who commented before me because I would seriously call and complain about there service, and it wouldn't be to the boss I would go straight to the better business bureau. They are always pharmacy of the year but, after how things have been lately I doubt that will happen this year. If your looking for a regular pharmacy and you don't need anything made up, do not go to Burns, go to Valley, or Desert Drugs. I do have some positive things to say about Burns though, they have the best Durable Medical Equipment department. There is a young lady who works there and she helped me tremendously when i went in and got fitted for my shoes. She was kind and she seemed to actually listen to me as i explained my issues. Overall I give the Pharmacy only 2 stars because they are rude on the phone and even in person, the clerks are always in a rush to get you in and out, they pay no attention to how the customer is doing or even if they found what they were looking for. Durable Medical Equipment young lady deserves some kind of reward for showing good character and to even care how I felt when I left the store. She gets an A+ in my book, and I will continue to use Burns for that department only. She showed the same compassion and care for her job and towards me, in the same way the delivery guy who used to work there and deliver my prescriptions on time and always with a smile. If you must use Burns like I did, because of special orders they can only make, then try to make the best of it, but be ready to defend yourself from the people behind the counter, and a select few in the front. Good luck Burns, but if your customer service keeps up how it is you are not going to be around for very much longer. DME will hopefully keep the same people in that department because it is like night and day between the two sides, the pharmacy side and the DME side.

I was treated like dirt on the bottom of a shoe! I asked very politely for the pharmacist to re-count medication for me as I was shorted on more than one occasion. A pharmacist with red/brown hair and a matching beard was in the back part of the counter and said "NO, I have things to do and this is Bull^*#T!" He then came to the front slammed down the plastic pill counter and violently counted them never making eye contact with me. I tried to diffuse the situation by being calm and I said that if I leave and the amount is wrong it is my word against the Pharmacy. He then threw the bottles on the counter so hard he broke 2 pills! I have NEVER had a problem with a pharmacy in my life. I am always polite. I was humiliated and I had to choke back tears.I have been with Desert Drugs since they opened their doors and love them. The only reason that I had to take 2 Rx's to Burns was that they(Desert) could not get them in. I am going back to Desert Drugs ASAP! PS- Beware, the staff comes off as really nice and then turns on you.

This is a great Pharmacy. People are friendly, it's quick and they actually deliver. I've been going here for 17 years. :o) Our daughter was born with a condition that requires her to be on medication. When she broke her jaw and had it wired shut everyone in the Pharmacy asked about her every time I went in. These people care and it's like the Pharmacies that we went to when we were kids. I love it. And I recommend them all the way!!

The only Compound Pharmacy I found in the Antelope Valley that has test kits available for us Ladies dealing with hormone in-balance, because, one size does not fit all. I am awaiting the results so that I may finally have relief from hot flashes and night sweats. A complete kit with all the paperwork, even prepaid UPS shipping to the lab. What a treat! The Pharmacist Dan could not have been more helpful.

Stepping into Burns is like stepping back into time. It is the oldest neighborhood Pharmacy still in business since Lancaster became a City. What is unique about Burns is that it carries medical supplies, furniture, Hospital beds, and other medical supplies that you cannot find at your local drug stores. They also fill prescriptions just like any other drug store. For a unique experience, Burn's is the place.
