World class.. Excellent veterinary hospital that I recently came across. Evening hours and weekends are a plus as I work 60hours per week. The staff is friendly and facility is very clean. Dr. Oh was terrific. I will continue to use Mid Valley Vet Hospital for my vet needs. Just my honest opinion
Excellent vet hospital if you need dog or cat surgery. My cat was seen last week for a cat fight. The facility was clean and the staff very warm.the female vet was very friendly and prompt. after a staff member had me sign a very reasonable estimate Zoey was stiched up. I returned in 4 hours to pick her up. Highly recommend this wonderful vet facility for any vet treatment or surgery.
ps. the parking was plentiful.

Mid Valley Vet is the best hospital to take your pet for orthopedic surgery.
When my shep Damien broke his knee ligament, I did some Google research and found this incredible hospital. The vet Dr. Michael Pitt was fantastic. The estimate for the surgery called a TPLO was the best price I found. The vet clinic was warm, clean and very modern. The surgery was performend 2 days later and my pet is doing great. The best part is that all future xrays and recheck exams are included in the fee. HIGHLY RECOMMEND MID VALLEY VET FOR PET ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY!!! thanks soooo much guys.

World Class!! As a resident of Reseda for many years, I would take my 4 cats nowhere else but Mid Valley Vet Hospital in Van Nuys.
The service is fantastic. Dr. Pitt is the best. The staff knows me by memory and I love their late eveing hours and open all holidays.
I have used this facility for simple cat spaying and shots to major animal orthopedic surgery procedures, never having any problems or issues.
In conclusion, my opinion is the Mid Valley Vet Hosp. is the best veterinary facility in the valley.
Just my opinion..

I have been true a lot of vet hospitals all my life and I just found Mid Valley Vet Hospital about a year ago. I have seen Dr. Pitt, Dr. Kim, & Dr Palmer They all have been GREAT!, The Staff is excellent, kind, & generous with a smile. When I go in it's like we are family, they remember my name and my pets name. I have 2 cats, and 3 dogs that i have taken there. one was diagnose as a diabetic and is doing really well now thanks to the knowledge of the doctors and staff. I get reminders, and call backs from the staff for updates and blood results,It's better than my own personal human hospital!

I went to Mid Valley Veterinary when I wasn't happy with the way my regular Vet was treating my dog. I loved Dr. Pitt! He agreed to do sugery to help my dog. Sadly, my beloved dog passed away despite his efforts. He and his staff were so kind and caring to my when we had to have my little dog put to sleep.
Flash forward a year...we brought in another dog for treatment and it was a 180 degree turn around! Dr. Pitt was great, as usual but his staff was just horrible and rude....and not just to me! There were other patient's "parents" in the office who were just as appalled as I was at the way the staff was treating everyone. I will never go back. Too bad because Dr. Pitt is a kind and caring Doctor. But his staff is very unprofessional..

Thanks for being open late last week. Had to rush my lab in for an emergency. When I called no mention of money was made, only get her down here Now! They took care of her pronto and after being sedated I picked her up in 1 hour. I was surprised to find the bill less than $200. Fantastic service and vet medical care provided by Mid Valley Vet Hospital. These guys really care and are professional and caring in a vet emergency. Highly recommend this vet facility. Excellent vet for Dog Surgery also! Love this fantastic vet hospital. My friends drive from Woodland Hills also.

Excellent animal surgical work. I recently tried Mid Valley Vet Hospital when my cat required surgery to repair a bite wound sustained after a neighbors dog bit him. Mid Valley Vet was fantastic. The doctor Dr. Kim was caring and kind. An estimate given prior to surgery was very reasonable. They called me after he was out of surgery. I love the fact that Mid Valley was open until 8 pm. I am happy to report that Bobo the kitty is doing great and also thanks Mid Valley Vet in Van Nuys for the great animal surgery they performed.

I was really unhappy with this vet and will not go back. I caught an unneutered homeless cat that everyone in my neighborhood has been trying to catch. The secretary on the phone quoted me one price and then when I arrived, it was more. They kept asking over and over if I wanted to do blood work, vaccinations, etc on the cat. I kept repeating NO because it wasn't my cat and it was already expensive. Then the next day they called me three times in a row pressuring me to have another procedure done which would have put the bill at $400!! No way. Then they were going to give me pills to give the cat. This cat would never in a million years let me touch him like that to give him a pill! They weren't even thinking! I had to ask for a liquid form. Duh. Then they never even clipped his ear or told me what a bump was on his ribs. When I called back to ask about the bump on his ribs the secretary said it wasn't there when the cat was there. Yes, it was! The vet wasn't skilled enough to notice it, apparently. After I got the cat back my neighbors told me about a much cheaper vet they use for the ferals/neighborhood cats, so I'm going to go there in the future.

Mid Valley Vet in Van Nuys is the place to go if your pet needs animal surgery. they fixed up my lab when she was hit by a car last month. She spent 4 days in the hospital and had several animal surgical procedures prior to the orthopedic surgeon fixing her torn knee ligament with an animal surgery called TPLO. They guys at Mid Valley were the best. They got me finance with a credit card called Care Credit to help pay for some of the bill. Great facility and doctors. My pet Roxie thanks you also

I live in Santa Monica and traveled to a recommended vet in Van Nuys when my lab needed an animal orthopedic procedure on her knee called a TPLO. Mid Valley Vet Hospital did an INCREDIBLE JOB, shes doing great and best of all they saved me $1800 off local estimates from West Los Angeles vets.I highly recommend Mid VAlley Vet hospital in Van Nuys, and its worth the small drive from Santa Monica. Thanks to all the wonderful staff at Mid Valley Vet Hospital for their fine work!!

To the point. Our Rott had torn anterior cruciate ligaments in both of her rear knees. Mid Valley Vet Hospital did both knees at once to limit her healing time and keep the cost reasonable. I drove all the way out from South Pasadena to have her surgery done in Van Nuys after reading all the great reviews. 3 monthsl after surgery she is doing 90 percent better. Mid Valley Veterinary Hospital performs amazing pet orthopedic work including the TPLO surgery my dog needed. Just wanted to give others in South Pasadena a heads up about this incredible vet facility in Van Nuys.

When my Belg Shep tore his anterior cruciate ligament 3 weeks ago I was devastated. I was torn between being out of work for 6 months and having to pay for a necessary surgery on my best friend. I live in South Pasadena and spent the day getting quotes for his leg surgery. $4200 was the best quote I found in the area. I then started searching farther and found this awesome vet hospital in Van Nuys after surfing the internet. I then drove to Van Nuys for a courtesy consult and had his TPLO knee surgery done 2 days later at a much cheaper price. Hes doing great now and starting to walk on the leg. If you live in South Pass.. and are looking for a very caring and reasonably priced vet orthopedic surgeon, give Mid Valley Vet Hospital a call. Just wanted to share this experience with others.

Thanks a million for all the kind care my pets have received over the years. We lost our lab last week to cancer but Dr. Pitt and Mid Valley Vet staff helped us walk through the process of making her comfortable and keeping her alive a few extra months. When we had to put her to sleep 2 office staff people actually cried with us. What a caring and compassionate veterinary hospital. Thanks very much!

Thanks Dr. Pitt for being there in a pinch. Last week my dog fell in the pool and was having trouble breathing. I rushed her over to Mid Valley Vet Hospital and they started treatment immediately. 2 days later I picked her up, and I'm happy to report she is now back to normal. That was a really close call! I would never take a pet to anyone else but Dr. Pitt at Mid Valley Vet. Just wanted to drop a note and say thanks for saving my little girl.

Very loving and caring veterinary hospital. The staff seems to never change. I have been a client of this vet hospital for 3 years, and never can I recall any problems. Claudia the evening front office girl is amazing. She always remembers my name by memory. The doctors are nice, easy going and very caring. My 2 cats have never hissed or had any bad experience in the office. I found the vet from a referral from the SPCA. Dr. Pitt was a medical director and volunteer for the SPCA for over 3 years. Keep up the good work.

Dr. Pitt is great. The staff is wonderful!
Found this vet online last week when my outside cat got into a cat fight. Was seen promptly by a very nice female vet. An estimate was given prior to any service done. They fixed Zoey up with stiches and she was ready to be picked up in 4 hours.
The office was clean and modern. The front staff were warm and friendly. Parking was plentiful. NO complaints at all. Will go back next time I need veterinary services or surgery. Highly recommend Mid Valley Vet.
ive taken my dogs to this "hospital" a few times. its always clean and has decent, mixed reviews. the staff is usually friendly. the cost is always high at this place. we took our pups for the shot clinic and it was still quite a bit higher than other places we checked out. we did have our mastiff neutered here and it was a little expensive but not TOO expensive and they seemed to do a good job. we've dealt with Dr. Kim on a few occassions and i was less than impressed with her attitude. ive been to a few vets in the SFV and most are always nice and talkative and seem to care about the animals. i finally decided to move on after reading some of these other reviews and finding another vet in the area with even better reviews.
3 weeks ago my lab puppy Tammy was very sick with vomiting and blood diarrheaa. I called around and found a very symphathetic vet, Mid Valley Vet Hospital. On the phone I explained that I adopted the puppy from Lab Rescue and being a CSUN student I was not in a very good financial situation. The kind nurse on the phone told me to bring my pet in and that we would fiqure out whats wrong with her and help in any way we could.
At 7:30 pm on a Friday I brought Tammy in and found a very warm, clean and caring vet hospital. In about 10 minutes a vet, Dr. Michael Pitt came in and did a good exam on her.. After running a couple of tests he diagnosed her as being very sick with a virus called Parvo.
I found out this is a very serious and deadly condition and she would need to stay in the hospital for treatment.
I was given an estimate that was reasonable but much more than I could afford. I spoke to the nurse and was very honest about my financial situation being a student.
Ths nurse, Cindy got authorization to charge me a flat and reduced fee that was very reasonalble and affordable with my finances.
Four days later I took her home. She was back to normal.
I will always be thankful to Mid Valley Vet Hospital for both taking care of her and helping me out with the bill.
I HIGHLY recommend this wonderful and caring vet and give them an A++++ for all their help and understanding.
just my two cents.
MY FRIEND TOOK A STRAY CAT WHO LIVES IN OUR STREET TO THEM AND HIS BILL WAS ALMOST $900, HE CAME TO BORROW MONEY FROM ME , BECAUSE WHAT HE HAD AT THE TIME $450 HIS UTILITY BILL MONEY WHICH HE DID NOT MIND TO GIVE IT ALL TO HELP THE STRAY CAT AND BECAUSE THEY MADE HIM SIGN OBLIGATION PAPERS OF THE COST AND HE IS SO POLITE AND SHY COULDN'T SAY NO TO HELP THE CAT, I TRIED TO HELP HIM BY CALLING THE VET AND SEE IF THEY CAN LOWER THE BILL TO $450 , I SPENT OVER 20 MUNITES TALKING TO THE DOCTOR WHO WOULD NOT EVEN LISTEN TO ME! FINALY THEY ACCEPT THE $450 , NO COMPASSION, NO FEELINGS , THIER ONLY GOAL IS THE MONEY!!!! TODAY I CALLED FOR MY DOG AND THE NURSE CINDY RECONGNISE MY VOICE , SHE KEPT ME 7 MINUTES ON HOLD PRETENDING LOOKING MY DOG CHART, THEN SHE CAME BACK TO GIVE THE LECTURE OF MY LIFE ABOUT THE CAT AND THE $450, LIKE THE $450 IS LIKE ONLY $10 , IT IS $450!!! THAT IS A LOT OF MONEY , IT IS A STRAY CAT, IT WAS MY FRIEND UTILITY BILL!!!
GIVE ME A BREAK!!!
First time client last Sunday. My cat was hit by a car early in the morning and I did a Google search in the Reseda area and found Mid Valley Vet Hospital. i called and was surprised to find them open at 8am on sunday. The gal who answered, Lucy was her name, was terrific. Warm and compassionate. She said bring your pet in ASAP. NO MENTION OF MONEY WAS MADE!! Her concern was just for my pet. When I arrived she was seen pronto. A very nice and pretty vet Dr. Kim walked in right away. She performed a good physical exam and recommended some xrays and lab test to make sure my kitty was ok. After about 20 minutes she returned to tell me that Jocelyn our kitty had a broken rear leg but that a splint should fix her up and surgery wasn't indicated. They gave me a very reasonable estimate and I am happy to say that our kitty is doing fine, albeit confined to house arrest. My first time experience at this new vet was excellent. The vet and supporting staff were professional and compassionate. I highly recommend Mid Valley Vet Hospital in Van Nuys for any animal emergency for vet issues. Jocelyn and I say a big thanks guys!
As a resident of Reseda for 10 years, I have been bring my 4 cats to Mid Valley Vet Hospital in Van Nuys for over 4 years. Dr. Pitt and his staff are amazing. Dr. Kim is an excellent doctor for Sunday emergency vet visits. i have used the facility for simple exams and shots as well as pet surgery needs. They are open 7 days a week as well as late in the evening. I even found them open last Thanks Giving day when my cat had a bad case of the runs. I have never experienced anything but TOP NOTCH care and treatment. The staff even remembers me by first name when I walk in. I highly and mean HIGHLY recommend this top notch veterinary facility for anyone in the valley.
Last week my 8 week old lab started to vomit and have bloody diarhea. I found Mid Valley Vet Hospital in Van Nuys open on sunday. I took her there to be examined. I was warmly welcomed and seen very quickly. After doing a test the vet came in and said she was very sick with parvo. My problem is that Im a student and have limited savings. A employee came in the room with an estimate that was reasonable but more than I could afford. I then told my story about being a student with very little savings to a very caring nurse named Jack. After some discussion he was very cool and got an ok to give me a huge money break. They just charged me a very fair flat fee and said the price wouldnt go up no matter how long she was sick. Im VERY HAPPY TO SAY that after 3 days she was doing much better and eating. With a warm heart I say THANK YOU Mid Valley Vet for understanding my money problemes, working with me, and healing my dog. I will be a customer for life, and my lab Penny thanks you a million.. I highly recommend this vet as they are caring and compasstionate and will work with you if you have money problems.
Today I helped rescue a dog that had been hit by a car. This Vet was the closest and we rushed the dog over for medical help. The vet refused to come out from the back office and told the receptionist that they would not look at the dog unless we left a deposit. The dog was hit by a car and the vet refused to even talk to us face to face!! They said that if they did anything they could lose their license - PLEASE!!! I took the dog to West Valley Animal Control and they lovingly took the dog. They said that it is possible that had this "Vet", and I use the term loosely, that they may have been able to save the dog. Unfortunately the dog had to be put down, no thanks to these people. I am happy that they are NOT my vet as they care more about doing nothing than doing what is right. It's painfully (mostly for the poor Shepherd who was suffering) obvious that a love of animals is not the prevailing reason for this veterinary clinic to be open.... A love of MONEY is sadly apparent. There are hundreds of vets in the valley... AVOID this one!
2 weeks ago on a Sunday, my lab got a piece of bone caught in his throat. He was drooling likely crazy, going nuts, and starting to turn purple. I called Mid Valley Vet where I have had excellent experiences in the past, and was told by a receptionist to get down here PRONTO..
Upon arrival, they rushed him into the treatment area and after signing a quick and very reasonable estimate they have my lab Rex sedated and Dr. Kim removed the bone. She also had to sew up part of his gum that was cut. Dr. Kim called me in 30 minutes to explain the situation and reassure me that Rex was doing fine. I picked him up 3 hours later and he was acting like nothing ever happened.. THANK YOU MID VALLEY VET AND ESPECIALLY DR. KIM FOR SAVING HIS LIFE!!!! You have a client for life.. I am so glad u guys were open on Sundays.
I went to Mid Valley Vet. My dog had an allergic reaction, she got bumps on her skin and had also recently taken a fall while chasing for a ball and was slightly favoring one leg.
Dr. Kim was the only vet there on the day I went. She was not friendly, but that is not my main point of complaint.
Dr. Kim took my dog in the back and came back after having taken x-rays. Meanwhile, she sent a nurse in recommending very expensive things that I didn't feel were necessarily needed such as heavy pain pills in addition to cortisone shots, a prescription for flea medicine (which can be purchased anywhere), etc. (I prefer to give my dog natural solutions rather than chemical drugs or pain pills unless absolutely needed- I didn't feel heavy pain pills were needed.)
I agreed to the long list of fees, etc even though I didn't feel they were all needed. I told myself that if the Vet recommended it, maybe it WAS needed.
Then the vet came in showing me the x-rays and told me she recommended surgery, that my dog had likely pulled a tendon and it was very common. That with my permission she would schedule the orthopedic surgeon for the following week, etc. She was pushy about this and 100% confident in her diagnosis.
When I tried to ask questions, she became rude and short with me, almost angry. I said that on an x-ray, you can't actually see tendons, only bones, right? So, was she absolutely positive my dog needed SURGERY?!! I would do it if she needed it but my dog is only 1 year old. I dont want people cutting into her body if it's not absolutely necessary.
Dr. Kim told me she wasn't positive but she was pretty sure and she again recommended surgery. (When I walked in, Dr. Kim was mid a surgery. I got the impression that she's a new grad and trying to build her surgery time/expertise and that this was clouding her judgement, making her recommend a serious procedure for an animal that did not necessarily need it.) Based on what she said, it appeared she didn't honestly know what was wrong with my dog and she was prepared to do a several thousand dollar exploratory surgery on a 1 yr. old dog.
I declined the surgery and asked for the xrays for my records. She became flippant with me and told me that she welcomed me taking the xrays to another vet. I took the xrays and left with a bad taste in my mouth vowing not to go there again.
It turns out my dog just pulled a muscle. 4 days later she was fine and sprinting through our yard with no problems whatsoever!! No pain, nothing. This when Dr. Kim was ready to schedule Orthoscopic Surgery!!!!!!!
The cortisone shot helped with the bumps and it appears the allergic reaction was due to a spray western exterminator had done in the back yard. I handled that by heavily watering down the back yard.
What could have cost $75 for x-rays and $50 for a cortisone shot cost me over $450 in vet fees! With probably another $4000 in vet fees recommended (had I opted for the surgery.)
Dr. Kim rude and haughty when I tried to ask questions to make sure I understood. She strongly urged me toward a very dangerous procedure that could have caused my dog pain for the rest of her life!
Additionally, when Dr. Kim was looking at my dog, she had an assistant hold my dog and she started flexing my dog's leg. I think she actually hurt my dog more than helped as she forced her leg in weird ways prior to taking an xray. My dog was definitely in pain and super scared after Dr. Kim was done with her.
In short, I would NOT trust Dr. Kim. I think she is a new graduate with little experience and is more interested in experimenting than actually helping the animals in her care.
Overall the Mid Valley Veterinary Hospital is wonderful. My parents have used them a number of years, as have my husband and I. The staff is great and helpful. Location is great, and parking doesn't seem to be an issue. Great hours as well.
Dr. Pitt is extremely knowledgeable, personable and more then accomodating to your needs and situation, especially in regards to your animal's care.
Dr. Kim, I have found that I prefer not to see her if possible. She seems most insistive in testing the animals before administering care. In a recent event we took a stray kitten in for medical attention, who had an eye infection and an infected scratch. Dr. Kim lanced the scratch, and was sent home. A few days later the kitten's condition worsened, to the point where he didn't eat or drink and was wasting away, he constantly cried when he moved. The kitten was brought back into Dr. Kim but she refused to do anything more without testing the kitten, including lancing the lump further, she also refused the request to euthanize the kitten to end his suffering. She said she didn't think it was the correct option. A couple days later the kitten was so weak he became constipated, this time the kitten was taken to Dr. Pitt and he was extremely accomodating. He lanced the lump, was able to extract some fecal matter, and got the little guy to eat. The kitten seemed to be slightly better. Unfortunately the following day the kitten passed away. Had Dr. Kim fufilled the request to put him down, he would not have had to suffer during the couple days after she saw him.
I would not recommend seeing Dr. Kim but only Dr. Pitt when seeing a vet at Mid Valley. In my personal opinion I feel Dr. Kim is not nearly 1/10 of the Doctor that Dr. Pitt is. My parents have had similar bad experiences with her and will try to only see Dr. Pitt as well.
Last week my crazy lab was choking on a Kong ball that was caught in her throat. She was going nuts, having trouble breathing and I could not remove it. I called my heroes at Mid Valley Vet Hospital at 8pm. They said come down NOW.. 10 mins later she was rushed into the treatment area, sedated, and the ball was removed. 1 hour later I picked her up. I was very surprised to find the bill was less than $200. Thanks to Mid Valley Vet Hospital my girl Lucy is alive and doing great, minus a small Kong. Dr. Kim and the staff at Mid Valley were terrific and saved my dogs life. Thanks a million for the great work. Highly recommend Mid Valley Vet Hospital in Van Nuys for any dog emergency.
This was one of the worst experiences I've had a vet ever! My dog came down with severe shakes and some jaw jabbering. I took my dog in to see the vet at Mid Valley and was happy that they were open on a Sunday.
Once the vet agreed to see my dog she came in and spent the max 5 mins with my dog. She didn't check any of the vitals except for sticking a thermometer up my dog's butt. Given my dog has been raised on a organic mind-set where there has been minimal shots but on my defense my dog has been extremely healthy up until this bizarre week. So this vet took my standpoint personal and decided to not even bother giving my dog a thorough exam. She just wanted to do a blood exam, which I was willing to do but after I realized her attitude and her crappy exam I decided against it and went elsewhere, out the $40 something bucks of the mere 2 mins of conversation with the vet. Pointless. I could of called in for free.
I'm sorry but I really feel that this vet didn't do her job instead. My dog also has a bit of a rash and she completely ignored it. I was amazed that I was speechless. I guess its my fault for not opening my big mouth. Anyways.. Make sure you tell the vet exactly what you want. Or else you'll find yourself in my shoes.
Best of luck.
I just can't believe how caring and competent this facility is. Dr. Kim is very nice and easy going. When my cat was attacked by a dog I was seen promptly. After being given an very fair and reasonable estimate, she did surgery to repair his wound. A very nice nurse called me when she was done and I was surprised to find that they stay open until 8pm. I am happy to report that Bobo the cat is doing great. I highly recommend Mid Valley Vet Hospital if your pet needs any sort of animal surgery. Bobo thats you guys!
Wow, very impressed on my first visit. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Clean and warm interior. I was very quickly greeted by a friendly front office gal named Claudia. Once I was in the exam room it took no longer than 12 minutes for a vet, Dr. Pitt to enter. He was very warm and friendly. My pet was very sick and he gave me several options for treatment as I am a single mom and money is tight. We agreed to hospitilize her over night. the next day she was much better and I was called in the morning by Dr. Pitt to pick her up in the afternoon. The bill was ACTUALLY below the estimate. Thats a change!! I would highly recommend Mid Valley Vet Hospital and Dr. Pitt if you have pets and live in the Van Nuys/ Valley area. Thank you staff also..
My dog was hit by a car before Xmas and tore an ACL in her knee. She also had major skin injuries due to being thrown 5 feet after being hit. Thanks to God she lived. I took her to a fantastic vet hospital, Mid Valley Vet Hospital in Van Nuys/Reseda and they attended to her injuries right away. I found them to be caring, thorough, and very professional. The vets were incredible. She spent 4 days in the hospital and had a TPLO procedure to repair her knee. I am happy to report that she is almost back to normal except for a limp. I would highly recommend Mid Valley Vet Hospital if your pet needs any type of animal surgery or animal knee surgical procedures. They also helped me with the bill by getting me financed thru Care Credit. Mid Valley Vet in my opinion is an incredible vet and second to none.
So many good and professional experiences I could run out of room. Kind, clean, compassionate and very very professional. The place is top notch in my book After seeing a vet at McClave which is now corporate owned, I tried mid valley vet and developed a great vet relationship with a kind, easy going, and very compassionate vet Dr. Michael Pitt.. I will likely never go to any other vet/vet hospital than Mid Valley Vet. I truly think they are the best vet facility in the valley.
Kind and caring staff. Very fair estimates and they always give options. My entire block uses this vet and loves them. They are so professional and the facility is squeaky clean. My 2 dogs actually get excited when I need to bring them in. Thanks you guys. A++++
Dr. Pitt and Dr. Kim are the best. Never had anything but good experiences bringing my pets into Mid Valley Vet Hospital. Kind, attentive and caring. The front office staff is wonderful. I was referred there after a bad experience at another vet hospital. I drive all the way from Woodland Hills because I think they are one of the best vet facilities in the valley. Kudos guys, keep up the good work.'
P.s. the cats and dogs say thanks.
Some time ago my dog wasn't feeling well. I called my regular vet and both doctors were in surgery. Not wanting to wait another day I called Mid Valley. They could see me right away. Dr. Pitt gave my dog a cursery examination and announced, "He is very sick. He must be admitted because he needs to be monitored."
Dr. Pitt said, the cost would be about $1,500. He required a $750 deposit. I gave him the deposit and left feeling that BJ was in good hands.
The next morning I called at 8:30 to see how BJ was doing. The girl who answered the phone said I would have to call back after 9:00 because there was no one there before that time. I said, "Dr. Pitt said that he needed to be monitored. Who is there to monitor nim?"
She said, no one is here until 9:00 AM.
I was upset that BJ was there alone all night. So at 10:00 AM I went to Mid Valley intending to pickup my dog and take him elsewhere. I found BJ on a steel table gasping for breath with an oxygin cone over his face. During the night he had gone into shock and was alone in a small metal cage.
A few minutes later, he died on that table.
The office manager then approached me and said, "It will be an additional $50 to dispose of the remains.
I said, "You are doing nothing more to my dog!" I picked BJ up and took him home and tearfully buried him in my back yard.
In my opinion Dr. Pit and Mid Valley Veterinary operate a very sub-standard, high priced money pit for pet owners.
By the way . . . I was unable to recover any of the $750 deposit I paid them even though BJ was only stored in a cage overnight and died shortly after 10:00 AM the next day. They even had the nerve to bill me for $65.00 for "a second day of intensive care."
You guys are the best! :))) A million thanks for saving my dog when she was attacked by another dog at the dog park. THANK GOD you guys work late hours>.. I have been a big fan of this hospital and all the wonderful staff and doctors for 3 years now since moving into the valley. I pledge never to use another vet other thank you guys. My little girl Roxy and myself thank you guys a million times over. Keep up the good work and please don't ever change the wonderful staff and doctors.
I have been taking my 2 dogs (only for emergency and update Shots) to MV for the past 5 years and have very litle confidence or satisfaction in the Staff or Doctors there. 1. They have mis-diagnosed problems on many occations 2. They take the animal into a back room to do ANY procedure or shot, leaving you in a small exam room alone to wonder who is performing and what has been done. Why so secret? 3. Prices are very high for the services performed compared to LA Central and all others. 4. Most procedures are performed not by a Doctor, but by staff. I have had better luck with Google.
Competent and caring. The front office staff is wonderful and friendly. They are open 7 days and holidays. I have never and I mean NEVER had any type of problem or issue with the prices or care my 2 labs receive at Mid Valley Veterinary Hospital. Best of all I love the vets, Dr. Pitt and Dr. Kim. They are truly wonderful vets who ALWAYS have the best interest of my pets. I vote Mid Valley the number 1 vet in the valley.
p.s. Great parking. long evening hours, and holidays.
I have taken my dog/puppy to Mid Valley Vet several times and each time I have NEVER been satisfied with the customer service I get from the staff...About a month ago I lost my dog, and she was very important to me and my family because we have had her for 9 years, recently before she passed they had prescribed medicine to her to "help" her and the medicine was 100$ for each refill, (obviously we were clearly going to by the med.) we saw no improvement in my dog...I myself do not have a car, and last month I called for help because my dog was terribly sick, I carried her all the way there and the best they could do for me was telling me that they could just put her to sleep because the vet was in surgery?! As a loving pet owner this was NOT acceptable to me...My family and I have been trying to mend with the loss for a while now but I am traumatized at what someone can tell you when your in that situation and are distraught, not even a little bit of sympathy? The world has really amazed me this time, I don't mean to be rude but, this is my opinion... Also it took them months to ever reply to our calls, and our emergency refill needs...I have never been so disappointed, I hope my review helps many....
Don't believe any bad reviews. In 5 yrs have had nothing but positive experiences. Great Service. Love the extended hours. They offer 6 months interest free financing when my dog broke his hip. Dr. Pitt is an incredible vet who volunteers his time saving/rescuing retired war dogs. The front staff is very friendly, always remembering my name. My pets are actually happy when I pull into the parking lot.
They are a no thrill, upfront, friendly and caring vet facility always providing incredible/caring service. I love the fact that I always get a written estimate prior to treatment and often the final price is BELOW the estimate. My opinion.. Mid Valley Vet is World Class and the best vet facility in the valley.. HANDS DOWN!!
PLEASE THINK TWICE!! Staff is very rude. Dr. Kim did not give my dog more than 30 seconds of her time befor she gave me a bill of $900. They get you in with a low Van Nuys office vist price, then stick you with a high bill. Office manager is VERY rude, and not very helpfull. Spoke to OWNER Dr. Pitt who claimes he is not the owner, but just works for the corporation, that he owns. He ref me to the rude office manager.
If you make less that $40k per your, please visit the WWW.SAMSIMONFOUNDATION.or they will care for your pet.
We brought my dog here for two different surgeries this year. The first time was for her luxating patella and the second time for her broken leg. Mid Valley Veterinary Hospital gave our dog great care and treatment, and I am very happy to say that my dog has recovered and is now walking and playing like a normal dog. It is a miracle!
If you do decide to go through with the treatment for your pet here, they will give you high and low estimates and list of items / charges. At the time of admittance. I actually made one of their staff go through the list with me and explain some of the medical terms and how they are used during the procedure. The staff here is generally very nice and willing to answer any questions you may have.
I think the more important lesson to be learned here is (and you can take it if you choose to): Get insurance for your pets and make sure you have a full understanding of your insurance coverage.
Pros: Great Hospital, Excellent Service, Thank You
I have used this practice for over 5 years and have had as many as 6 pets at a time that have ben seen there and I have referred dozons of friends. Because it is so friendly there.
Overall, I have been very happy with these drs. It is always meticulously clean and free of smells.
Pros: Verry Resonable,Helpful,Nice,Careing,Inteligent,Noligible,et
Helpful. Never rude or in a hurray. Always there for me when I have a pet emergency. Have been living in the area for years, and the entire neighborhood loves the facility. Best Vet in the valley!! The prices are very reasonable considering that vet medicine is very expensive. All my pets love the vets and start wagging their tales when we pull into the parking lot. I have never walked out feeling I was taken advantage of or paid more than I thought was reasonable. Keep up the good work Mid Valley vet!!
Pros: Caring, extended hours. Fantastic staff/vets... first rate.
My first impression was good over the phone, speaking with a girl named Felicia. The next day i was able to get same day service but the girl Claudia was not rude but definetly not polite on the phone, but was rude when i got there. I assume the rude girls working the desk were 1 or both of the ones i talked to on the phone. They didn't introduce themselves, shuffled me into a room for a few minutes before weighing my dogs . Finally the dr comes in with who i assume was an intern who was not introduced to me by the dr or by herself and looked like she didn't want to be there. The dr told me my am. staff w/ a false pregnancy would pass through it w/o any serious problems. he gave me a solution to get my dog to eat his food and that the growth on his eye was nothing to worry about. he also checked his vitals and said they were normal, but still wanted to do blood work...which he neglected to inform me costed 140 DOLLARS! The results came back the next day and were "normal". Big surprise there...my dog wasn't acting strange or showing any cause for concern yet he still wanted blood work done. I called him and talked to him for twenty minutes about what i felt was an unnecessary test. he told me it was totally standard procedure and told me to ask any other vet. He was obviously offended with my issue. He told me about pro bono (free) work and volunteering and rescuing dogs from afghanistan. I told him i respected his passion for animals and his work but still thought he favored the business aspect and not the health. I advised that he notify people when something is expensive and he said "Thanks for the uh...advice but i think i'll keep doing it the way i have for 18 years" with an attitude. He was probably just mad that someone saw through is little game. Dr is very knowledgeable but watch out for him convincing you about "preventative tests" or something like that. Dr didn't earn my recommendation and i think one of his staff members is a meth user judging by the look of her eyes (she looked like she hadn't slept in days). Thumbs down
Pros: Knowledgeable Dr, same day appt's available
Cons: Rude staff, (except Felicia), dr milked my wallet
I have been utilizing Mid Valley Veterinary Hospital for 2 years now. I have brought pets in for simple vaccines and serious injuries involving broken bones. They have always fixed my dogs up. Caring, easy going and the front office staff is SECOND TO NONE>>> i usually see Dr. Pitt who is wonderful and easy to speak with and understand. He always speaks in medical terms that are easy to understand. They now have late evening hours which I find very useful. Hands down Mid Valley Vet is world class and the best vet I have ever used in the valley. thanks guys!
Pros: Full service. Vet orhtopedic surgery. Caring/compassionate.
I have been bringing my pets to Mid Valley Veterinary Hospital for over 5 years. I have never had any problems or issues with any employee or doctor. I usually only bring my pets in for routine vaccines or skin allergies, but when my lab Sam broke a bone last year Mid Valley was there to place a plate over the break and shes doing great. I utilize their evening hours as I work in downtown Los Angeles. The entire neighborhood loves Mid Valley and I have never had any problems or issues with the doctors or staff.
Pros: Loving, caring! Fantastic doctor and staff!! Evening Hours..
