NEVER COME HERE!
today i went in for simple oil change because of the $19.95 deal offered. I sat and waited (place had one other customer in it and only one other car in a bay) for half hour before they come out to show me all the things "wrong" with my car.

(btw, when i was watching them drain my oil, it appeared they only drained out half as later they quickly filled the oil up, and yet again later i checked my oil and it still looked dirty... i know they only did a half oil change)

They proceed to tell me my rotors are shot but maybe, just MAYBE they can save them by resurfacing them.. and of course my pads were down to the metal (which i could see they weren't). They also told me that my rear drums were about to go and that if i don't fix them immediately my brakes will go out. I of course refused the service as i did not trust them and don't appreciate "scare tactics".

I then waited another half hour for them to put my brakes back on and finish the oil change (one hour oil change with only one other customer in the place). I go to drive away and my brakes barely stopped the first time i applied pressure to them making a horrible grinding sound. I immediately turned around and brought the car back.

The owner(who is also the manager) told me "i told you that you needed brakes" I'm like "WHAT?" they were perfectly find before i left. Then i asked that they recheck how the brakes were put back on because this is unacceptable.

He then proceeds to raise his voice saying " It's your brakes and has nothing to do with us! We give you a free service (tire rotation and brake check) and this is what you do? COMPLAIN?

I'm thinking to myself.. wow... this is customer service? this is how they treat someone?

So, I then ask them for the number to corporate to which the owner/manager tells me "find it your f***ing self" so I wait for them to check my brakes and put them back on the car... this time they noise went away... and I drove off.

I then called corporate and spoke with "tim" who tells me that this shop is independently owned and there is nothing he can do other then send the owner/manager an email that I've complained. Really??? there is nothing you can do? Independent location/franchise or not.. this is YOUR COMPANY NAME ON THE PLACE! and there is nothing you can do? He didn't even apologize for my experience. I was literally in shock!

Beware of this place. I have been going to various locations of brake masters for a decade (spending thousands of dollars in total), and have never imagined I would have an experience like this. It sickens me, and I will not be going back to this, or any of their locations in the future.

I had my brakes checked there. I had originally been to another Brake Masters where the service was excellent, but had moved. Unbeknown to Francisco, I had been into that shop three months ago where they had inspected the brakes and rotors and told me everything was fine, to stop back in the spring depending on how much I drive. I stopped in, the other employees were not there. Just Francisco. He wouldn't honor any of the online specials that I mentioned as I hadn't printed out the coupons - fare enough. Then he proceeded to tell me that I didn't need new pads, the pads were fine, just all new rotors (4) at a total cost of well over $500 - not including the pads. He said he would "throw in" a free tire rotation which is alreaddy included in the lifetime service anyway. When I asked him why the pads were fine and the rotors weren't he said that it was because the pads may not have been good. The receipt said that they had used metallic pads in the past, but he insisted that they usually use ceramic, even though it said "met" in the abbreviation. He basically inferred that the previous shop probably wanted to change the rotors and that I may have opted not to do that, and as a consequence - that's why the rotors were worn "dangerously" low. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth. the previous inspection mentioned nothing about the rotors, nor did the one before. He tried everything he could to build that estimate. It was only after he realized that I wasn't going to bite that he offered to throw in some brake pads and started to haggle. I felt like I was buying a rug somewhere at a garage sale and left. I went to the garage next door - called "Express Smog and Auto Repair," they did a radiator flush for half the price that Francisco quoted, changed a fuel filter and checked the fluids and checked the brakes - he said they were fine and to check back if they start sqeeking - which they weren't. Francisco is an "old school" mechanic and that's why there were no other cars in his shop. BEWARE.

Recently when I need brakes I had no idea where to go. I found these guys by accident on a flyer through the mail. After calling around to a few places (mostly major chains) I realized that with the coupon they were by far the cheapest. The mechanic I spoke to on the phone was very friendly and helpful. I wasn't sure what to expect when I got there (there are SO many dishonest repair shops nowadays..) But to my surprise, they were very honest and upfront. They mechanic took me out back and showed me the problems, things he thought that 'could' be replaced but did not require it. He gave me his personal opinions and the best advice on how to fix or work with a problem. He even ended up taking an addition discount ater I asked them to complete another service while I was there! Really a great experience, the brakes worked great and they told me if I noticed any problems all I had to do was bring it back and they would take care of it. I will definitely be going back to have them fix other problems I am having with my truck.

Have been customers here for over 4 years. Owner Jerry is amazing. The most honest auto guy in the business. If you need something done that he cant do, he will actually steer you away from dishonest bad guys and recommend someone he trusts. Great for mufflers, oil changes, lubes, brakes. Being a regular customer give you perks like instant emergency serivce and sometimes a freebie!
