Do not believe the revews! Did, went and are very sorry we did!  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Do a web search for Pier 29 in Alameda and read more before stopping here! I only read the ones on this site, made a decision to go for my daughters birthday. Not only do they have a very questionable seating arrangements, the food is absolutely terrible (if it isn't fried, its gray in color) and the service was non-existent.

If I hadn't stopped here, I would have found reviews that compared to exactly what I found and none of them are mentioned here. Don't make the same mistake!!

Good Eats  5 Star Rating - World class

I love this restaurant. The food is real yummy.
Its run by a family. My favorite family member is Rod. He greets you when you come in. I swear it doesn't matter what day or night it is... Rod is there. I think Rod needs a vacation. But then who would seat me?

Moved but still nearby  4 Star Rating - Very good

This great restaurant has moved to 1150 Ballena Blvd in Alameda. It's still on the water with a great view of the bay and SF or the boat harbor. Food is as good as ever. Service is also good. Prices are modest. Has a nice new bar. Flat screen TVs. Outdoor patio. Banquet room.
Plenty of parking. A little out of the way but worth going to.

Decent food, good atmosphere  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

I enjoyed this restraunt. It sits right on the bay and has an impressive list of seafood and steaks to order from. I would definently reccomend the calamari.

PROS: Nice Place to Eat
CONS: Hard to park there.

A nice place on the estuary  4 Star Rating - Very good

Pier 29 is a friendly family style restaurant right on the Oakland estuary on the other side of Alameda's Park Street bridge. The speciality is seafood and the menu is simply enormous, with every conceivable seafood dish that you would desire........ with the occasional non-seafood items offered, too. Very good food, nice location, and pleasant and attentive waitstaff......you can't miss if you eat here!

PROS: On the water, with ample parking available
