Virginia and her crew know how to serve a great mexican dinner! The margarita's are the bomb and the food is even better. Juan and Gabby are the best servers I've ever had. They make sure that any request you make for something outside

The food is delicious and the service is wonderful -Now the problem is that there is a police car hiding behind the streets next to the parking the lot waiting for customers leaving the restaurant then the police car follows you for blocks

It is a favorite for me. The bar area is great and comfortable. Bartenders make awesome margaritas and Happy Hour is the best!!

Pros: reasonably price bar - good food

Cons: some of the waiters need training from their experience ones

Basically, this is a old time local Arcadia Joint.Have a Double Margarita from the bar and everything will be good after that.
Enjoy the lively bar,a few Margie's and let you worries fade!

This Mexican family restaurant serves large portions of hearty Mexican food just across the street from Santa Anita racetrack. Pick simple enchilada plates, drink their margaritas, and enjoy the packed bar after the races. Friendly and fun.

big portions and tasty food! you can get a lot of things a la carte, or they have a good selection of combos that could save you a few bucks. the chips and salsa they give you when you sit down are crazy delicious.

Nothing authentic about food served on a plate that is too hot to touch!
I have been all over Mexico and never had a plate served to me that was considered hazardous. But then I do not go to "Tourist Traps" The food was eatable, but some of the items on the plate had dried out and crusted over from the - you know - Super Heated Plate.
Service was appalling. Mostly because they sat the 30 of us out on the patio with plastic tables and chairs. No problem. Then our drinks started sloshing right out of the glasses and on to our food. We couldn't eat without feverishly holding the table still. Why did we have to hold the table still? Well, we politely asked one of the waiters to help with the problem. May be he had a small wedge of wood or something. Surely we were not the first to have this problem. I do give him credit for taking a long time to look for something... Finally, he came by our table and in passing, tossed a wad of napkins on the table and said ??Put this under one of the legs " and he ran off to our amazement.

I've been eating at Pepper's for 25 yrs. I love it. You get tons of food, the drinks are strong and the chips/sals are the best I've had.
Service is usually great but they get slammed on weekends. They are also across from the Santa Anita race track so during the racing season it's a zoo.
On busy nights I've never waited more than 1/2 hr and they do take reservations. Most of the servers have worked there for ever. I haven't found anywhere that can compete with their food. Plus it's one of the few family owned. You've got to love that.
I sit in the bar if the restaurant is full. It's a real bar, t.v.s loud etc but they have the full menu.
Make sure to go there hungry. They portions are huge. I've never finished a meal and , lets just say,I like to eat.

This is definitely a great mexican restaurant. The feel you get right when you walk into the restaurant is a feeling of mexican authenticity. The servers promptly serve you with complimentary chips and salsa right when you are seated and are very polite. The food is also great too!! My favorite is the cheese enchilada combination. It is a HUGE amount of food for a reasonable price (less than 10 dollars). If you are in the mood for some great mexican food, definitely check out Pepper's!
