Reviews for Providence Veterinary Hospital

Ratings_icons Providence Veterinary Hospital is a great place to take your pet.

Maggie L.

I have a very difficult, old, cranky cat and consequently have been requested by some vets to please not return. Dr. Miller has taken excellent care of her for the past two years and I can't even begin to thank him and his staff enough for their gentle handling of such a furious beast. They even agreed to take her for a long weekend of boarding and said that she was no trouble at all. I find that the prices are reasonable for the services. Should your pet be on continuous medication or special presciption food, be sure to ask about quantity pricing. It's a sure way to save money.

Ratings_icons Great Vets for Healthy Pets

Have used Providence Hospital (and Clinic) for my dog for three years now and have only good things to say about them. They have two locations in Alameda: the hospital, on Oak Street and the clinic (a smaller facility) on Webster. The veterinarians rotate between both locations. Both locations have excellent staff and are responsive for both routine and emergency appointments. They also board animals. I haven't boarded my dog but have heard good comments from people who have. One of their vets has a holistic bent so, if you want to consider that angle too, ask for Anne-Marie Wooley. All the vets are excellent.

PROS: friendly, skilled staff; fairly priced; timely appts, quality care
CONS: none

The veterinarians at Providence really love and care about your animals. As do all the other workers there. They do a great job with the animals and everyone is very friendly. It feels right to be able to leave your pet with someone you feel comfortable with. And they have a talking parrot in the waiting room which is always entertaining.

The folks that work here love animals so you feel a good sense of security that they want your pet to be well. It's a little small, but they do have seperate doors and waiting rooms for cats and dogs. They have two rooms, one seems to be more for routine exams, and they also have a boarding area for pets that may need to stay and be observed. (I believe you can also board your pet there if you go on vacation.) They have a small parking lot also, so you won't have to walk far at all.

PROS: friendly animal-loving folks that work there
CONS: ?
