North Hollywood Hardware

The staff at this store is extremely helpful with any project you might have from the simple repair job to the most complicated project. You will get the help you need and it won't take you all day. I hate shopping at the huge home improvement centers such as Home Depot, because it takes forever to find anything and even longer to check out. I've been shopping at North Hollywood Hardware for years and I have never had a problem returning anything!!! I love the staff and their knowledge, as well as the convenience of getting what I need to complete my job quickly and correctly. I'm happy to see that old fashion hardware stores like this still exist !!!

I was so ecstatic to learn this little hardware store was right around the corner from my new apartment I just moved into. I always dreaded driving so far to Home Depot. They do have all the tools and accessories you need. My first visit was great. They had excellent customer service....until I tried to get my money back.

I had bought a replacement piece for my shower from this store right when I moved into my new apartment. But turns out it did not fit correctly. So I went back with my receipt and asked if I could get a refund.

I was then told that I had the wrong receipt. I was befuddled as to how I could have the wrong receipt.........you could see what I bought on my receipt and the price and item. So I went back home to dig through my trash and find it. Since I had just moved in I had boxes and trash everywhere...it took me a long time and was aggravated but finally found it...I figured store policy is store policy. So I went back. I was then told I needed the original package it came in. I looked at my receipt and the sign by the register. There was nothing about having the original package. Only you must have the receipt and return the item within 30 days for a refund. Yes I am a girl and not very experienced with buying hardware....but by customer service rules THERE WAS NOTHING ON THE STORE POLICY SIGN OR RECEIPT THAT SAID YOU MUST HAVE ORIGINAL PACKAGE. If someone told me at the time I would have taken care...but I knew it was probably in the trash already in the dumpster.

I even asked the manager if I could make an exchange for something else I needed. I figured...okay so I wont get my eight bucks back but at least Ill get something I know Ill need. NOPE....I was tired, angry....I spent all that time looking for the "right" receipt when what I bought the DAY BEFORE was clearly on there. Even with the receipt and item I could not make an exchange because I didnt have the package....

Isnt my continued business worth more

Small but great hardware store. Forget Home Depot. Here you get personal service. They have EVERYTHING you could possibly need. Staff if helpful and you would expect a place like this to be high priced, its not. I have been in there for everything from making keys, to needing nails, to finding paint. Looks tiny from street, but the store actually goes way back into corner. No lines like giant stores!
