I love the lunch buffet here! It gets a little busy, so arrive early to avoid waiting for a long time. The food is so good!! I especially like the samosas and the chicken curry. I can never have too much of that!

The food is exceptionally great! The Chicken Tikka and Garlic Shrimp are awesome as well as the onion Kulcha. Prices are fair b/c they do provide value and quality. They also have a nice all you can eat buffet. The place was packed from the moment we sat down until we left. The service (taking the initial order) took some time due to their business, but overall all our needs were attended to very well. I will definitely go back to try more on the menu, as well as the all you can eat buffet. A+ quality food.

Good:
Food is great. I do not think you will find better indian food in LA. Try the Lamb Malai. Very very good.
Service is good: a typical indian restaurant - you know what i mean.

Bad:
Not enough space. I never feel cozy when I go there. Hard to find parking.

Ugly:
Food is too expensive. Wayyyy too expensive. When I go there with my girlfriend, it costs me about $50.00.

Conclusion
If you want to eat very very good indian food, try this place out. Lunch buffet is okay.

The best indian food buffet in so cal hands down. They have so many dishes you cannot go wrong whether your vegitarian or not. The taste and quality is very consistent. If you've never been to this restaurant I recommend sampling all their menu options during the lunch buffet. This is absolutely my favorite restaurant and a must when visiting familiy in the south bay!

I did a booking for my wedding party for 18 people, first 5 people showed up, then more people came in to the restaurant for the buffet, then he was making anooying comment if front of all the guest and made all of us uncomfortable. He said "How long we should wait for all?? I have lots of customers!!"

I have been there like 8 times before, looks like the owner just shot himselft on the foot, after all just another indian food and new Indian restaurant are coming up.

Pros: Same food as others

Cons: Bad service by owner- greedy

I typically stick to my "litmus test" of dishes when I try out a new Indian joint, and this did not disappoint by any means! We had the Chicken Tikka, Chicken Tikka Masala, Palaak Paneer, and Garlic Naan. All of which were just perfect. That's all I can say! And the owner obviously takes great pride in his place...when my husband picked up our last to-go order, he told the owner that his restaurant serves quite possibly the best Indian food we've ever had. To which he responded "I know". Go now!!

wow.. what can i say about this amazing restaurant. You have to go there to actually understand what i am talking about. When i went there i was amazed at seeing the hospitality of the workers and there fast service. Their food has the quality that we all look for in foods. warm, fresh, and delicious. And it is very affordable. and they have alot of items to choose from.. if i could write more i could just go on and on and i would never end about all the wonderful things about this restaurant

Whenever I crave indian, I go to this restaurant. As another reviewer stated, they are always consistent. The food is just so flavoraful and delicious. They have a great menu selection to choose from. I've tried a lot of different dishes and especially love the masala and vindaloos in both lamb and chicken. I take visiting friends here and they love it! The garlic naan is freshly baked and just a perfect compliment with the different sauces. One thing is that the wait can be long, even on nights you'd think they'd be quiet and even late in the evening.

went here for the 8.95 lunch buffet and was very disappointed in both the selection and quality of the food...the palak paneer didn't have any paneer, the vegetable korma consisted of mostly mushrooms, the fish pakoras tasted like some kind of frozen fish fillet that was heavy with batter, the galub jamun was cold and was not saturated in syrup as i would have liked (it tasted more like a dried donut hole, rather than a milk ball), in general most of the food was not really warm enough for me and did not taste good....definitely would not recommend the lunch buffet.

After 15 years of dining at India restaurant it's definitely one of our all time favorites. High Quality and the finest ingredients.

I was on a project in Pasadena for the past 6 months -- a coworker (from Cerritos) recommended this restaurant. This is, without a doubt, one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever eaten at. The quality of food was outstanding (the lamb curry was incredibly lean which is a rarity) and the consistency of dishes remarkable. I *regularly* drove the 30+ miles to go to this restaurant.

Based on previous reviews, my boyfriend and I decided to try this place. We were not disappointed. We were glad we arrived when we did, because within 30 minutes every table was full. The food was outstanding as was the service. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. The chicken tikka masala and the shrimp saag are must trys!

This place is always crowded. I wonder why. Probably because they are among the few restaurant that do not over charge customers by 200%. Personally, I also feel that they are pretty close to authentic North Indian food taste.

I live in Cerritos, and have visited Indian restaurants throughout Artesia and LA....
I must say the India Restaurant is among the best.
Although a little too cozy, the restaurant is clean,
service is friendly, and the food is great.
The korma is some of the best i've ever had...
Great choice, esp. if you live in the area.

Being of Indian origin myself, I've sampled just about every Indian restaurant on Pioneer Boulevard in "Little India". When it comes to authentic North Indian Cuisine, nothing else compares to The India Restaurant. The food is superb, particularly the Shahi Paneer and Navratan Korma. The previous reviewer sampled the lunch buffet which, while tasty and a good value, does not compare to the food you order off the menu, as it is over-neutralized for the stereotypical American palette. They have a great variety of dishes, an excellent selection for vegetarians and meat-eaters, the portions are generous, and the service is very good. Don't let the generic name fool you, this restaurant puts out some of the best-tasting Indian food I've ever had- it even compares to some of the finest restaurants I've sampled in India!

Along the run of ghee and curry that is Little India, The India Restaurant curls up secretly in a mini-mall, a classy mirrored decor within. Reflected off this, is the play of a somewhat crowded ambience, at its height, summoned in by belly for the buffet luncheon, of which I also took gustatory part. I have had better curries; but what is offered is passable, the shahi paneer, cheese in tomato sauce, cream and ginger probably the standout in this particular buffet row. There is a blissfully extensive wine list, even including Omar Khyyam champagne, perfect for a burst of Himalayan cool after the fire of spice.
