I had a good experience with the staff at Swim's in October 2007 when the timing chain on my Nissan broke and damaged the engine head/valves as I was passing through Sacramento. Given that I was stranded far from home, I felt they treated me very well and did not take advantage of the situation. The price for the work they did was fair, and they kept me well-informed as the process of evaluating the damage and performing repairs proceeded.

I was just searching for Swim's number and was surprised to read negative reviews of this company. I am not a friend of Swim's, but have used them consistently since they picked me up on the side of the road as they are also a tow service. I have taken all of my cars there since 2002 and have never experienced some of the negative things said below. What I can say is that my car was fixed every time, on time. They have never gouged or inflated their prices on my repairs. For example, I went in for a transmission problem one time and they found that a simple linkage was not connected from the shifter to the transmission They easily could have charged hundreds for the repair but instead connected the linkage and charged me for diagnostic only. I know people get emotional when their cars break down and sometimes vent on mechanics. Well you know what, cars break down sometimes, and it is expensive to get someone else to fix it for you....otherwise you would probably just do it yourself. Joe Denecochea, Sacramento.

I agree totally with the comment about being money hungry. I had the worst experience ever in life with mechanics with these people and it is unfortunate that a local major auto store almost always refers people over to them to more extensive work.

If you can find somewhere else to take your car, I advise you to do so!

I am a business owner myself and i thought that swim's enterprises was very curetouis and was helpful in anyway they could. From my experience at swim's i learned some new things about business and how a business should be ran. i learned how i would like my employees to approach my customers. The office personal was very nice and offered to pick and drop me off if i was withing a 15 mile radius. the work was met to all my expections. They were very honset people and very eay to deal with. I would recommned them to every one. I believe the last two reviews that were written must have been unreasonable people. I did noticed however that city search has their address wrong it is 4280 Pell Drive Sacrsmento, ca

we went to swims the first time because it was close to home. we took our car there and i informed them to call me when their finished with the inspection,they called us a couple days later saying that the car will not start and have to fix another thing that was not causing any problems when we dropped it off. they quoted us for that as well and when we went to pick up our car it was a different price higher than the prices they originally quoted us for. a few weeks later our car continued to have the same problems it had when we initially brought it in for. they were not at all helpful if anything they were manipulative and money hungry.
