Animal Doctor

I was shocked to go to The Animal Doctors for 4 years happy with the doctor, but surprised by the rudeness of the Office Manager, Sandra Walter. The office called to suggest purchasing a special food for my dog which I was told they had in stock. While in the office I was charged for the food and a urine analysis, but sent down the street to El Camino hospital for pick up of the food. For better customer service and lower prices I would suggest a different vet office.

We've been going to The Animal Doctors for over 25 years: five cats and one dog over that time. Dr. Lagerwerff and his staff are so caring -- of the animals and the owners. They have seen us through the usual checkups and minor ailments, as well as major illnesses and euthanasia of our dog and three cats. Every one at the clinic owns at least one pet and they all deeply care about animals. This is absolutely the best place for you and your pet!

We've seen Animal Doctor's, particularly Dr Lagerwerff for 10+ years for the usual shots, spays, check-ups, & the occasional foxtail which have all been handled quickly; with great explanations; and affection. Dr L's calls to see how his patients are doing; stays very current on veterinary research and industry practices; and has a team with him who are similarly skilled and compassionate.We've had two involved problems where greater expertise was needed. Dr L clearly explained why specialists were needed and why he suggested particular specialists. The specialists were completely up to speed and had high respect for Dr. L.All said, it's been the best of care at the highest standards for our family.

Doc L. is the best. He is caring and will take the time to tell you what you need to know and is very willing to answer any questions. Great sense of humor too!!!

I've been going to Dr. Lagerwerff for more than 25 years, and he and his practice are the best: expert, friendly, really concerned with our animals and us. I've never once felt rushed or like a number. He's given advice on breeds to get (or avoid), come to our home to euthanize our cat, and really been a friend all these years, and his wonderful staff has too. When we moved I tried a vet who was more convenient, but couldn't do it and and we're back where we belong!

We came here when my dog suffered a broken bone, they quicked shuffled us in. I was impressed with the speed and quality of the service. Pricing was on the higher side but in my mind it was still reasonable. They do give you several options on how you want to procede, so they are flexible.

This vet is excellent, he is quite knowledgeable about small dogs and is very caring. The staff is very caring as well. Prices are high but the care is good. This vet does not try to rip you off with unnecessary charges.

PROS: Great doctor, off street parking, good location off main street.
CONS: None
