San Francisco Brewing Co

These guys really know their beer. They are among the best brewers in California and can talk about beer for hours straight. A friend once made the mistake of asking them if their common ale was "sort of like Newcastle" and got an earful, but you have to forgive them -- they're beer freaks.

This is near the hotel that I usually stay at whenever I'm in San Fransisco. The beer is good, the food is good, it's a nice small restaurant, and the staff is usually quick and friendly.

I guess if you are reading my reviews you see that I enjoy outside seating.
Anyway I used to work down the block and they had dollar beers till six so I was able to get some before the end of happy hour.
Great people watching and friendly crowd.
O yes, and the beer is quite good.

Let me give you some advice my friends: On a Friday night when youre going drinking in North Beach, go to the San Francisco Brewing Company during its happy hour where they have $1.00 half pints. Sit at a table and ask the server to just go down the list, to bring you every beer on the list in order. In an hour, you will have tried 7 or 8 different fresh microbrews, youll have spent $10.00 or less, and you will have a great buzz and be ready to hit North Beach. Ready? Set! Go!
