Customer Service, what a joke!!!! I will attempt to describe what the OWNER, David Jackson did to me. In summary, as long as you're simply purchasing something in stock, you'll be fine, otherwise...

My wife dropped off my son's bible for engraving, was told it will take an hour, then told it will take two hours. Four hours later when she called to check on it, it was not even started, but assured it would be done the next day by noon and they'd call once completed. The next day at 4:00 I called regarding status since no one bothered to call us with an update, still not done, now the problem is that they didn't have a cross symbol or a number 1 which was to be part of the engraving, but they will have the needed characters the next day and it will be done by 5:00 that day (note: now we're 4 days into this intially quoted 1 hour job). Of course, no call with any type of update. ALL of our communication to date has been with a gentleman but initiated by us. ?Customer Service?, what does that mean?

The next day I go into the store, just knowing the bible is ready, only to fine it still has not even been started, but assured by a very nice lady that he will be working on it on Friday (the next day) and she will be sure to call me on Saturday with an update. I call on Saturday morning, speak with the gentleman again only to learn he still has not started my job but it will be done for sure that evening.

I waited until Thursday of the next week, over a week later, and called in the morning. The gentleman I've been speaking with each previous time (I recognize his voice at this point) answers the phone, I request the owner, the gentleman asks who is calling, I tell him, and he tells me David Jackson is the owner, but he won't be in until noon. I go in that afternoon at 2:45 and of course Mr. Jackson is not there.

However, to my amazement, I find that my bible is on the counter waiting for me to pick up, NOT DONE, I'm now informed they can't do three line engraving, even though they quoted and charged me for it and repeatedly assured me of its completion.

The topper: I learn that the gentleman I spoke with each time, the gentleman I spoke with that morning who told me the owner, David Jackson, would be in that afternoon was actually the owner himself!!!

The ministry I serve requires that I be knowledgeable in a number of areas from family counseling, to elder care to church issues involving the placement of lay people. I am nothing but satisfied with the experiences that I've had with Western Christian Books staff and their ability to turn my orders around quickly. Unlike the super e-stores there's never a shipping and handling charge and my items are usually available within 48 hours.

I have a need to give a variety of gifts during the year to VIPs who visit the church, for our graduates each year etc. You are located around the corner from where I work, which is really convenient.
