It's a diner located to a bowling alley so don't expect amazing cuisine, but if your in the mood for some delicious french frys or a burger then look no further. Cheap tasty and large portions are the name of the game here. Come check them out if your nearby and want a quick lunch or snack. And if you like the food be sure to tip the kids behind the counter.

I'm not really a fan of bowling, and this place didn't really stand out in my mind. It seems like your typical bowling alley. At night, it gets pretty when they have all the lights and music, I'm not sure if other alleys do that or not though.

Albany Bowl seems to be one of the few fun things to do in the area if you are under age. The bowling alley itself is definitely not a trendy bowling alley like Lucky Strike and Ten Pin Bowling, however it's much more affordable and a good place to go if you are looking simply to bowl and don't care about having a nice atmosphere. Lanes are usually pretty easy to get and they have tons of specials, including the Mon-Fri 9-5PM which costs only $1/game! The food is typical bowling alley food-fries, soda, chicken wings etc. I recommend it for big groups, kids, and parties.

Yes, I joined a bowling league.... every Wednesday I drink beer, bowl three games and eat great thai food. You can even get beer in a bowling pin bottle - or a cheap pitcher if you're a real guzzler on a budget. The thai food and regular greasy spoon fare at the in house restaurant are amazing!! Yum, I mean the best food I've ever had at a bowling alley. The lanes can break down sometimes and eat your ball, but hey.. that's part of the charm. This place is old school... and I love it that way!

I went with a group of friends on Saturday night, and we were treated extremely rudely after paying $14 a person. In addition, the equipment in our lane started to malfunction and we couldn't continue our second game. We went to talk to the employee at the desk, and he said he could do nothing about it. We asked to talk to a manager, and when the employee went to speak to him, we watched as he just laughed at us from a distance and brushed us off. We were getting upset because they were essentially stealing our money, and then to top it off they accused us of being belligerent and had their security guards escort us out. Go anywhere else to bowl, you are guaranteed to have significantly better service and not have your money stolen. I know I will never go here again.

I went to Albany Bowl recently for a friends birthday party. I should have known what to expect form this place when we were greeted by two thuggish looking dudes sitting behind a raggedy table. Thats fine, I don't judge. So we buy our 2 game minimum each and have a good time playing, buying beer and giving lots of business to this place. When my friend shows up, we bought 2 more games. In the middle of the 3rd game they turned off one of our lanes and refused to let us finish the games. They obviously made a mistake but would not admit to it. This place is trashy. The customer service is poor. Do your self a favor and go to any other, much better run bowling alleys in the area. Two thumbs down.

This place is what community is all about. Great place for large groups, I witnessed a bowling mixer/contest with Cal & Columbia MBA graduates, then caught a man just miss 2 perfect 300 by two pins (a woman on the other side of the bowling alley got one at the same time.) Families & groups of friends can be seen all around, the food from the cafe is PERFECT for bowling frames and snacking, and the renovated Tierney's Sports Bar is pouring great cocktails & pitchers of beer. Nuff said? Check it out!

This is one of the few family-owned bowling alleys out there that still exist. they do get crowded sometimes, so its usually a good idea to go early if you want to be able to bowl. the food isnt that good here, but i think its more of a bowling alley anyways. people who work here are usually very friendly and helpful.

I sometimes go to Albany Bowl for bowling. They have plenty of parking and also have billiards tables if you like to play that too. They also charge $1 a game on Thursdays and Fridays which is a really cheap way to have some fun. The staff are also really friendly and helpful.

Albany Bowl is not as good a bowling alley as it COULD be. It is a little far from the main drag of Berkeley and that can make transit tricky. They keep up their lanes well, and the food is okay...sometimes kind of trashy people show up and then the place is less cool. Bring extra socks.

I've played here a couple times with my coworkers who live in Albany. They were pretty busy on the weekends we went here but we never had to wait. The staff at the desk were kind. They have parking in front so you don't have to park on the street. The prices to rent a lane are reasonable. I had a great time here with my friends and will plan on coming back again in the future.

this is a very good place for cheap games. they also have pool, arcade games, a bar, a snackbar and a bowling shop in the back. sometimes the wait can be annoying because so many people come here. my friends and i come here a lot because it's close and cheap but other than that, the lanes seem to be shorter and therefore unofficial than lanes at other places.

AFTER VISITING ALBANY BOWL FOR THE FIRST TIME, I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A GREAT STAFF IN A BOWLING CENTER IN THIRTY YEARS OF BOWLING. I JOINED A SUMMER LEAGUE AT ALBANY BOWL, AND FOUND THAT ALBANY BOWL ACCOMPLISHES MORE THAN YOUR AVERAGE BOWL. GREAT LEAGUES, BUSY BAR, AND HAVING BOWLING ALLEY FOOD AND A FULL THAI MENU, I FOUND IT UNIQUE FOR A BOWLING CENTER. IF YOU ARE A DART PLAYER THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. ALBANY BOWLS COCKTAIL LOUNGE IS RANKED IN THE TOP FIFTEEN IN THE WORLD AS A MEDALIST LEAGUE OUTLET. THE WEEKLY PRICE SPECIALS THAT ALBANY BOWL OFFERS THERE FAMILIES, SCHOOLS AND THE PUBLIC RANGE FROM $1.OO PER GAME TO $2.00 PER GAME. AS A LEAGUE BOWLER I RECIEVE $1.50 PER GAME ANYTIME I COME IN. IN CLOSING YOU'VE GOT TO GO TO ALBANY BOWL.
