Deluxe Rent-A-Car is a SCAM!

I've been booking my husband's business trips for years. This is the first [and LAST] time we will ever use this company. Watching every dime in this economy they 'looked' like the best deal. $164.00 for 8 days, great deal, right? He gets to the airport and hands them his debit card. "Oh, we have to charge you $5 a day extra if it's a debit card AND put a $400 security deposit." I just checked our account, they have debited our account for $623.00!!
I just called the company at LAX to give them a credit card instead of the debit card my husband gave them. Told them [nicely] to use my card and credit back our bank account.
"Oh, we CAN'T do that, the contract is signed. A manager will have to call you back. But I'm fairly certain he will not reverse the charges."
NEVER use this company. I'm very uneasy about getting the full deposit back and urging my husband to return the car tomorrow and use a well-known rental company instead.

Deluxe Rent-A-Car is terrible

absolute rubbish, once we showed up to pick up our
car an extra $ 300 "security fee" would be charged on our credit card. not anywhere on there website are you made aware of this such fee. Isnt it funny that 3 other people had the exact same problems as we did at the service counter, as we took the "johnny park" shuttle back to LAX to rent from a
"name brand" rental company other customers on the shuttle said "1st and last time i rent from deluxe". poor customer service at best. pay a bit extra and enjoy your holidays.

believe all rewiews. DO NOT rent with them. Their cars are a joke!!!! they come up with fees you would not believe. It takes for ever to get to them. Their people are highly incompetent. Fraud !!!!!!!

Deluxe Rent-A-Car is GREAT

We rented from Deluxe three years ago and had a perfect experience. We were pleased with the vehicle that we were given and the price was half of what our travel buddies paid. We were pleased with the entire experience. I'm surprised by the reveiws I'm reading because we are flying into LAX in a couple of months and Deluxe has the best rental price AGAIN.

Deluxe Rent-A-Car is horrible.

I could not agree more with these reviews. I got a parking ticket and Deluxe charged me $125 over the cost of the parking ticket with no notice. Also, the car was hit while parked and I was communicating with their claims department about the paperwork that needed to be filed with my credit card company to cover the claim and in the midst of this they charged my credit card over $1000 for the full cost of the damage. With no notice again. Are they just going to keep charging my credit card forever? Unbelievable. Horrible company. Stay far far away.

Deluxe Rent-A-Car: Believe the reviews - I didn't.

I rented a car for two days in February from Deluxe Rent-A-Car. Not only did I have to wait an incredibly long time at check-in, but I called for 30 minutes to change my check-out and never got an answer.
Deluxe Rent-A-Car charged me an additional $375!!! I got a parking ticket, which I paid, but I still received a bill from Deluxe Rent-A-Car for $534 two months later. I called and reached the General Manager, Alex Mackey. He said that he doesn't handle the payment of parking tickets or the fees assessed by Deluxe Rent-A-Car, but he refused to give me another point of contact. I lost the receipt when I moved (the reason for needing a rental car); I looked everywhere. I called him back to say that I couldn't locate the receipt. He said that the $375 in fees from would stand.
A simple email or call before blindly charging me $375, OR being willing to work with me afterwards would have gone a long way. Now I am out the original ticket payment AND $534.

Be Aware of Deluxe Rent A Car

Deluxe Rent A Car has been using the "Airport Concession Recovery Fee" assessed to all car rental companies that have access to LAX to pad their bottom line and to gain larger margin share with False Advertisement and Deceptive Trade Practices.... this city's funds are going into their pocket.
I have filed forgery charges and exposed them for the fraudullent company they are on my web site www.deluxerentacar.info
Last week I contacted the LAWA regarding the $42 in airport tax charged n my receipt only to find out that Deluxe is not allowed to pick up from the airport and thereby are not charged an access fee. I WAS CHARGED 13.1% or $42 in airport fees and I live in Los Angeles.
The effect of Deluxe's 450 cars rented to people who were fraudulently charged on average of $40@ 13.3% or $2394 per day. That could add up to $873,810 per year of money that would have gone to LAWA.
www.deluxerentacar.info shows violations that this company has done to me and follow the links to independent sites with all the similar complaints. There is a young lady from Texas who came to Los Angeles named Ashley who contacted me through one of the forums in my efforts to expose this company. Ashley and boyfriend came to LA to see a 3 day concert. Deluxe rented Her a "Guaranteed 2007-2008" that was a 2006 with tags that expired 03/07 that had a fraudulent temp registration that said it was a 2008 and first put on the road 11/07. She was pulled over and the car got impounded and she missed her 1st day of performers. When she returned the car they said they would take care of her ticket... needless to say she now has recieved a FTA and a $808 fine and a collection letter.
