Best place on Main Street to hang out. I've been to Hurricanes a dozen times and it's always a great night out. Food is great, the staff is friendly. Harmony is my favorite waitress, always friendly and takes care of me and does her job well. Security is good and usually friendly unless you make a cause for them not to be.. Largest dancefloor on main street. Great music. Usually a DJ. Usually no cover charge except for special events. Avoid during fight night as they do charge a cover on those nights. As to the people, most seem cool. The crowd is usually 30+.

The appetizers at Hurricanes are the best. Go for happy hour and they're all half price. You can actually get a table if you show up early enough.

If you come later, don't bother trying to order food. This place gets packed to the walls most weekends.

The waitresses, while nice to look at, are not always the best at their job. I've had numerous issues with different girls here, but the ones who stick around for a couple years at a time do their job well. I guess its the luck of the draw when you get a waitress.

You'd think I wouldn't go back after a waitress ripped me and my buddy off for $20. We paid in cash, counted it out twice. She walks off with it... then comes back over 15 minutes later to claim we owed her more money... that we only gave her enough to cover the bill and a measly tip.

When I argued with her on this, she got really nasty to my face and said "You don't know who you're Fing with!" When I asked her to show me the money she counted up, it was in a pile of cash from several different checks. She counted, came up short, and then just targeted my group. The management sided with the waitress 100% and was no help whatsoever. They then pressured me to leave so I wouldn't cause a scene, and mentioned they would get the police if necessary.

If you get drunk in there and they ask you to leave, you better go. Huntington Beach's finest will cuff and stuff you before you know what hit you. That goes for any place on Main St, though.

Ive been to this bar 2 times over 2 years. The first time I went there I was taken advantage of by the waitresses. When you buy 3 drinks and it costs you $25 and you give the waitress $40, you should get some change back. They keep your change as a tip. Thats one great tip if you ask me. Several of there waitresses do this. The only person in the bar I could find that didnt steal my money was the male bartender.

I went back a second time 2 years later to see if it had changed. It hadnt. This time I watched a waitress bring drinks to several groups of patrons and tell them their friend had ordered it for them. But heres the catch, they wern't paid for. The recievers of the drink paid for the drinks to keep the peace of the bar. I also talked to several people there that bought drinks that was supposed to add up to one amount but the creditcard was run for another. When confronted, the waitress gets rude and claims that the amount is correct and she told them that amount prior to running the card. However, the cost of the drinks doesnt add up to that amount. Most people avoid the confrontation and leave it be.

In my opinion, dont bother with this place unless you want to be scammed!

I went there on a saturday night. there was no line but there was a $7 cover. I thought this is ridiculous for a beach bar. I'm from LA and used to cover at nice clubs but for a casual place like this a cover is just silly. The bartenders were quick and attentive. No complaints there. However, the drinks were soooo weak. I got a vodka cran but felt like i was just sipping on cranberry juice. Also, there was a minimum of $21 on credit cards. A bit irritating, especially because the ATM in in the corner chargesa ridiculous withdrawl fee. The crowd felt like the typical beach crowd; casual and young, (although looking around i realized half the people there were actually older than me....I'm 24). All in all a good time but that was probably due to the people I was with and not the place itself.

Pros: Big, plenty of girls' bathrooms, casual, fast bartenders

Cons: watered down drinks, cover, limit of credit card transactions

This is the only conclusion I can come to. Ordered a Vodka Tonic, watched the girl pour it (and it was a standard pour) and the drink tasted like straight tonic water. So in addition to paying a cover it appears you are also paying for boozeless drinks.

There should be a certification board, like those that go around to gas stations to make sure the pumps are giving you enough gas, to make sure that bars dont cut their bottles with water. Will someone hire me for that job??

Pros: Fun place

Cons: Something shifty going on with the bottles of booze

I had a terrible experience at this bar/grill. After nearly an hour of competing for the rude waitresses attention I ordered a burrito and a Heineken. Upon her request I payed in advance and was astonished when she tipped herself with my change (I always tip very well anyways). My burrito came completely wrong and everyone at my table unanimously agreed that my beer was definitely not a Heineken. I had to chase her down with my burrito only to have her tell me that she could not do anything for me and continue to walk away leaving my burrito on a random counter. This coupled with the $5 charged both me and my girlfriend at the door by the pushy bouncers brought my total expenditures to $30 (most expensive beer I have ever purchased). I would have tried to talk to a manager but when my friend and I went out to put change in the meter the bouncer wanted us to wait in line and pay $5 again to get in, even though he had stamped our hands not more then 5 minutes earlier. I wanted to call over the 2 police men sanding down the block and explain the injustice but with an empty stomach my friends and I made the much more satisfying decision to just go to Tacobell where they smiled as they took my order and got it right! If your looking for a shoulder to shoulder bar that plays early 90's rock and cover bands then this might be the place for you. Just eat in advance.

I go every Monday to get the amazing late happy hour prices and great music. Even at 11:30 at night, the food is all half off, and so are the drinks! A steel drum band is playing every Monday during the summer and they're fantastic. They switch off with a DJ who plays current hip hop tracks as well. Great atmosphere, hot people, cheap food and drinks!!

This is a nice bar to go and hang out either on the weekdays or weekends. Lot of laid back people and good dance floor. Goes off on the weekends in HB.

This is a great restaurant, they play some good live music and the food is great as well. They have sports bar -- big screen TVs and a nice patio. I would recommend their burgers they are so great! Parking is available right outside the restaurant. This is a very popular place and it can get crowded!

This is one of the best places to eat, drink, and dance on Main street in Huntington Beach. They have a huge patio area outside, a dance floor with some good music, and plenty of bar space on the inside for hanging out with friends. They also have really good food, I would recommend trying the quesadilla's with guacamole and salsa! Come check this place out, you'll have a great time!

Pretty fun place to come on 4th of July. The location is right on Main Street in downtown Huntington Beach. They have a huge outdoor pation upstairs with a great view of the street and the pier. You can order drinks outside or inside and they've gota dance floor too. It can get a little wild at times so go with a big crowd to get some courage. Very cute place. You'll definetly have fun.

Hurricane Bar and Grill is a fun, casual little spot to go dance, drink and get some good food. It has an indoor bar area with a small dance floor, and an outside patio area. On weekends it gets a little crowded, and occasionally the line can take a while, but for the most part, its a good place to go and hang out with friends.
