Inside what looks like a small barn are tucked two very cozy rooms. The lower room has a little more space, and better access to the grounds, where you can sit and enjoy the sounds and smells of the country. The upper room has a small patio with a view from a higher angle. Both rooms are tastefully decorated, the beds and pillows are comfortable, and everything works.

Outside you can watch deer and turkeys walk through the yard, and just relax. Or you can visit any of the many local wineries in the Paso area. We enjoy taking our bicycles and riding between them, but avoid festival weekends when the car traffic gets a little scary on the corners. If you happen to be there when the giant oak tree over the barn is dropping acorns on the metal roof, it does get a little loudJ.

But the really special feature of this place is the proprietor, she has a bubbly personality that makes they stay all that more enjoyable.

The prices are very reasonable, but you need to make reservation in advance, others have found this gem also.

PROS: Great breakfast on top of the very comportable stay
CONS: Only two rooms

This rustic woodsy retreat is set atop a hill on a private ranch road. The B&B is run by a hospitable mother and daughter team. The house itself looks like a converted barn, but fits harmoniously with the all-natural surroundings. There…
