The pros and cons of big retail
by Greg B.
This store has everything - I shop there a lot.I have returned defective stuff or problem stuff with not too much trouble there. But if you look at Home Depot (Not perfect either ) they at least have experts in an area to help you. Here the store is mostly min wage retail types that are not real interested in customer service - so to get what I need I treat them with customer service - an attitude will get you the same. They have some basic knowledge like where stuff is in the store - but if you ask - how is this treadmill - how does it compare to treadmill be etc - that ain't gonna happen.

Sportmart is a great place to go is you are not going to need to ask too many or any questions. It is usually hard to find someone to help you and when you do, they "don't work in that department and need to call someone". Very typical of the large stores. They have a large selection of all the major sports and some minor sports too.

Bad service at The Sports Authority
by SportsAuthortiysucks
The service at Sports Authority at Blossom Hills, San Jose is poor.
First off, the garments are not sorted by size. They are all mixed and makes it difficult to find what you want. I suppose the store workers do not have time to arrange the garments for their customers. They would rather sit around and talk to one another in the back room.
You also must ask for a store worker to open the fitting room if you want to try the clothing that you pick. That never happen for us. We waited 20+ minutes after they were called on the intercom, finally we decided to just leave the store and go elsewhere. Customers should not have to wait that long.
No more Sports Authority for us and our friends. Ever!
Pros: Store looks okay
Cons: No service!
