Victor is a Great Service Rep!

I live a few miles away and I will always take my car here for a diagnosis at least. I have had stuff repaired in the past and always get great service.

My service rep this last round was named Victor. He is very pleasant and informative over the phone. I have had a good experience with this Repair Shop.

And they were very understanding that I have decided to perform the repairs myself. Some shops will do anything to make you stay.

Great service, quality repairs. Ive had routine service, as well as brake work, and timing belt replaced. These guys are fast , reasonable, and do good work.

Earlier I had written a negative review for these guys. They are trying to rectify the problems so that is a good thing. They really do seem to be dedicated to making their wrongs right; lets hope that they come through.

Fast, Reasonable, Got it Right!

After giving up on the VW dealer, I was pleased to find ACA doing quality repair and maintenance work. Correctly diagnosed, quickly done, I got my car back with all described problems taken of, and at a reasonable price.

Not Good

I brought an old utility truck (not worth $1500) in for an oil change and to check out a leak. They came back with over $2000 worth of repairs. I laughed and had them fix the leak ($300). I took the truck home and coincidentally my truck did not start the next morning because my alternator mysteriously went out. Under warranty, they towed it back to the shop and said that it would cost me another $450. My choices were to donate it or have them fix it, which is what I chose. But even more insulting, they tried to sell me up again with another $1200 of new and additional repairs.

Funny thing is that the truck was running fine when I pullled into the shop for the oil change. My problem with their conduct was that they knew the truck was not worth much, but they continued to look me in the eye and tell me that I should get the proposed repairs because of how nice my truck was. Their persistent sell-up tactic is annoying and insulting.

It is our service staff's responsibility to advise our customer(s) of any and all recommended services; no matter how old the vehicle is or how "clean" the vehicle may appear. It is not our job to judge the person or their vehicle. We would not be upholding our responsibility if we didn't advise our customer(s) of their vehicle's issue(s) and let them decide if they do or do not want the repairs to be performed. Their is no tactic involved, if you don't want the service, just advise us and that is the end of the story. We only want to take care of the recommendations you deem fit for your particular vehicle. In regards to the alternator, I can assure you that we did not do any damage to the alternator assembly. As you stated, your vehicle is an old utility truck. Any possibility that the alternator just went out? I am sorry that you don't feel completely satisfied. How often do I get what I ask for? Not often enough!
However, at ACA Automotive I have received the service that was promised plus more! More in the expedient turnaround time, more in the quality advice received, more in the excellent customer service!
They run a business model that other shop should follow.

I have been taking my cars to ACA for many years and have always been satisfied. They only go by the owners manual instead of selling me things that are not necessary. Its always a pleasure with the staff that also have been there for many years.

Horrible!

took both my sister's camero adnd my honda to them. they didn't do the test onteh engine before charging me $360 ro replace hoses there was a head gasket leak they said was just a hose.. car over heated blew heads.. they wanted to have me replace the engine with them..
also horrible shoddy work on my sister's car as well. DON'T go there!

This place rocks! Ive been going here for a long time and theyve always helped me out. Theyre service is exceptional, do quality work, are competent, honest and fair. Ive always worked on my own cars, but dont have the time anymore so I can tell when someone knows what tey are talking about! Ive tried a couple other shops in the long beach area and they all tried to BS about repairs that are "needed". I know how hard it is to find a good mechanic and know that once you have one you need to keep them. i would highly recommend them to anyone needed repair.

Pros: fast, reliable, honest, fair

Cons: theyre not right around the corner from me!

Great Work

I live in Lakewood and always take my car to ACA because of the friendly environment and great work they do on my cars. They are the only automotive place in the area who offers a complementary shuttle service which makes it very convenient since it is always hard to find a ride. Most of the time I just get my oil done but they have also rebuild the engine on my classic car, they do amazing work.
