Highland Grounds

Besides being known for it's small stage but well known performances and Wednesday night open mic, I've always had a good time eating a late breakfast out on the patio/courtyard with friends. Very relaxed staff and good food. Try a big iced coffee or iced mocha on a warm lazy LA day to get you going.

If you want to play an open mic with some kickin' artists and a great crowd, show up at Highland Grounds on Wednesday nights. If you can get on early, the place is usually packed, but starts to fade around 9:30PM. It's definitely a more advanced performing crowd, but will certainly give the newbie some practice. Great stage and sitting area inside coupled with an outdoor patio where you can chill around the fire pit.

PROS:
CONS: Parking ... boo - being Hollywood and all the darn permit parking - you might have to walk a little bit.
