I've been going to Full Circle Books on and off for years, for my Wiccan/pagan needs, and I've been quite happy with the service. I've even gotten a few of my friends to go there for gifts, as they do amazingly cool giftwrapping for a small fee. I often go just to browse and be inspired. Their book selection is a little limited (but then, how can you really compete these days with Amazon and the like?) but they do offer a good number of *used* books. They're also really good about inspecting things before you buy; they have demo decks of almost all their tarot sets that you can look through, and then purchase a fresh version of from behind the counter. They have a nice selection of music as well, and have been perfectly willing to crack open a new CD if they don't already have a demo copy to put in the boombox for you.

They're easy to get to, on El Camino, just north of the San Carlos border (take the Harbor Blvd exit from 101 South, make a left on El Camino, and you're practically there), and there's usually sufficient parking right in front of the store.

PROS: Great, helpful staff
CONS: Hit-or-miss selection

This bookstore is a great place to browse because it has so many different types of things, from gemstones and drums to fairy statues and candles. I always buy interesting cards and small gifts to mail to out of state friends, and they also have a free rental section in the back. You can have a good time here without spending any money in fact. I always go for the free drum circle on the first Thursday of the month.

PROS: parking, free rental section, tarot and astrology readers on staff
CONS: Sometimes you have to special order a book that's not in stock
