If you want good food and to enjoy your meal and company in a leisurely manner, DON'T go to Trilussa. As soon as we got our bottle of wine and $18 entrees, the manager was in a rush to get us out. When I commented that we felt rushed, he told us he had a business to run and that we were lucky he squeezed us in. For food that was OK, pricey and rushed, this was unacceptable -- GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

I was interested in trying the restaurant, but when no one at the restaurant answers the phone on a Saturday from 3-4:30 and the restaurant opens at 5pm, and when the voicemail is too full to take any reservations, this tells me that the restaurant just doesn't care. I can only imagine how indifferent the service would be. i'll stick with Giacomino Drago's restaurants!

Pros: none based on my brief experience with the restaurant

Cons: can't make a reservation b/c no one picks up the phone or clears out the voicemail.

Bacco Trattoria has been around for a while. They focus on regional Italian food and I have to say it is delicious. I have learned that Bacco is named after the Bacchus the ancient God of Wine, need I say more.

Having dined at Bacco the previous restaurant, I was very impressed with the current transformation to Trilussa.
First of all, the ambience of the restaurant has done a complete 180 in a "good way". There were bright flowers on all the tables along with flickering candles making for a nice romantic ambiance for a date or a nice outing with your significant other.
We were greeted warmly by the caring manager who offered a deliscous Brunello Montalcino that we thouroghly enjoyed with our Filetto di Manzo which was cooked to perfection along with a fresh savory swordfish made with a sauce of tomatoes capers and olives. We started this with a flavorful cioppino soup anf finished our meal with a very light choclaty profiteroles.
Talking with the manager, whose name I think was Tim, My wife and I are very pleased to report that Trilussa has the oppurtunity to be another really nice romatic charming neighborhood restaurant for Burbank.
This location has struggled since La Scala departed except for the lunch business. But Trilussa of Burbank offers lots of promise to foodies like myself who live in the neighborhood creating another quality option to dine with out having to drive far.

At least, that's how the management appear to behave in this place - they don't have a care in the world, especially towards the customers. We ate dinner - perhaps they were already tired of the place and wanted to go home; I hear they get busy at lunchtimes with the studio crowd.

Service is spotty (seated in 2 minutes, ordered drinks in 5, got them in 20, got the replacements for the undrinkable ones in another 30). They don't seem to have figured out how to give the two or three servers an equal number of tables, although any server worth their salt should really be able to cope with four or five without having a complete meltdown.

The food was pretty average, nothing at all stood out. Be careful ordering anything where you want to change the ingredients (no tomatoes in the chopped salad) because you'll get them anyway.

Oh - and when you send the glasses of wine back because the bottle has been open for two days too long, check the bill at the end, because you'll still get charged for them.

If you want to speak to the manager, forget it because he's got his cellphone glued to his ear, and doesn't acknowledge you when you arrive, and less so when you leave.

It must be nice to have so little concern about the viablity of your business that you don't care a toss about your customers.

Not going back.
