Having been involved in some sort of Martial Arts for most of my life, both Aikido and non-Aikido, I can honestly say Tri-City Aikido is the best place I've ever found to study Martial Arts. Let's face it - there are many different arts and even more schools with different types of people and philosophies. If you are looking for a place to study self defense, this is the place. If you are looking for a quality, non-competitive atmosphere where you can develop both your physical skills and mental awareness, this is the place. The teaching philosphy at Tri-City Aikido is non-competitive (the only challenge is within yourself, as the only true roadblock is in your head). If you are looking to quickly advance in rank, to show off, or looking for a "feel good" McDojo, sorry, this is not the place. Not to say there is anything wrong with belt-factories, but real substance is taught at Tri-City Aikido. Just like in real life, there are no free rides. Although I believe there is no single school that's perfect for everyone, I encourage anyone interested in Aikido, Martial Arts, or self defense to visit Tri-City Aikido and see if it's right for you. Everyone here is friendly and more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

This school of martial arts has been an active member of the Tri City community for over a decade. The students and instructors are serious about rigorous training and maintaining a fun and supportive atmosphere. I encourage you to drop by during any class to learn more about Aikido.

I started training in Aikido while I lived in Japan. After being transferred back to the Bay Area, I was not sure I could find a sensei or dojo to continue my training in this martial art. I checked out several places and when I came to Tri City Aikido and participated in just one class, I knew I had found a dojo with a sensei and other fellow students that exemplified the spirit of training in Aikido that I experienced while training in Japan where the art was born. Aikido is about connection as in connecting with others and finding your own path of harmony in your spirit and life. The way Tony Sensei teaches allows for this discovery to occur. He never really lets you stay in that comfort zone too long as he has the unique ability to see that there is yet more in you. The way the other members of the dojo train allows you to grow and become better.

It is a wonderful experience that will probably leave you wanting more and more which is fine because you can train in Aikido for decades and decades no matter who you are.

Many people come to martial arts for many reasons: self defense, build confidence, exercise, meet people of a like mind and character, or even just curiosity. Whatever your reason, I highly recommend that at least one of the places you give yourself the opportunity is at Tri City Aikido. I believe that whatever you get out of it, you won't be disappointed.

Tri City Aikido is more than I had ever hoped for in a dojo. Not only do you get in better physical shape, but you do more than just exercise your body, you constantly learn and work with mental aspects as well. You gain the ability to handle yourself in difficult situations, and increase your control in everyday issues.

Sensei Tony Campagna is incredibly gifted in teaching this traditional art in a way that not only preserves the feel of Aikido, but also in a way that inspires goals, keeps the practice alive, encourages a respectful, traditional attitude, and extends the ideas of Aikido into real situations. Tri City Aikido is one of the best places to learn that I've come across. Sensei is very knowledgeable and inspiring, and the other practitioners work with a surprising amount of passion to help you achieve your goals and better yourself. Training at this dojo has even improved my confidence and ability to work well with others. Before coming to Tri City Aikido, I couldn't imagine a dojo that actually has such an environment that only motivates growth, without the negative aspects of competition-based problems. This dojo went way beyond exceeding my expectations. I've gained so much from training at Tri City Aikido, in almost every aspect of my life. When I first visited the dojo, I was a bit apprehensive. I thought I??d just be joining some place where I might gleam just a few actual useful tips on self defense, while having to constantly compete with other students to learn anything and gain respect. Once I stepped inside, I began to realize how completely wrong I was for worrying so much. I can??t even begin to express how much I??ve achieved from training at Tri City Aikido. All I can tell you is that the teachings of Aikido and the effects of training have had an immense positive effect on my life, and I couldn??t be happier that I gave Tri City Aikido a chance.

I have been training at Tri-City Aikido for over 6 years. When I started training, I quickly realized that Aikido was much more than learning self-defense. For instance, I feel that Aikido has given me more self confidence and self esteem than any religion or psychotherapist ever did. The Senesi, (head instructor), is the best person I have meet in years. He has inspired me to face the problems of my life instead of constantly being afraid of them. Today, I feel that my life is a lot better. My job and my relationships with family and friends have significantly improved. I highly recommend training at Tri-City Aikido, trust me it's well worth it.

TCA is for people who are serious about martial arts. Sensei's skill and knowledge is beyond impressive, but more importantly, he is an excellent teacher, down to earth, and great to study with. At TCA you can expect to train hard, greatly improve your physical fitness, learn a lot about Aikido, learn more about yourself and your limits, learn many skills to be used in everyday life, be part of a great community. Join this dojo if you are serious about improving yourself for life, physically and mentally. This dojo has a lot to offer - the only limit is how much you are willing to put into your training.

Anthony Campagna Sensei has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the art which allows him to break down the moves and its applications to somebody that just started practicing or have been training for many years. He allows his students to understand the traditional techniques and how it applies to real world scenarios whether is stand up fighting or on the ground. At the same time, he maintains and emphasis on the focus of Aikido and its principles on and off the mat.

My daughters (7 and 10 yrs old ) have tried many different physical activities and sports over the years, and Tri City Aikido is the only one that they wanted to continue. Self discipline and respect is learned and required, while having fun. It is also great for kids to join at any age or level of experience, as each student moves at their own pace. The children are also encouraged to help one another develop their skills.

Sensei Tony has set an atmosphere here that is amazingly personal, friendly, supportive, and fully embraced by the instructors and students.

Despite group instruction with a mix of beginning through highly advanced students, each individual is helped to work at their own level and is responsible to advance at their own pace. Each participant is consistently treated with a surprising degree of individual recognition and respect.

If you want a training atmosphere that is impersonal or all about toughness, go somewhere else. If you want to develop strength, coordination, defense skills, and if you want to learn to simultaneously be powerfully capable, kind in intent, and gracefully effective in action, go to Tri-City Aikido. You can see it in every advanced student there, and you can develop it in yourself at the pace that works for you.

If learning and growing in character is what you're looking for, this is the place to do it. Everyone in the dojo is kind, well-mannered , and are very friendly. There is no better place to find such dedicated and friendly people.
