I have a decent experience going to AAA especially because of the prices. I talked my mom into going there because we have so many animals and I figured we could save a few bucks. Well I regret telling my mom to take our 8 yr old 4 pd chihuahua there. Peanut was sick so they took some labs and said she was having multi system failure. Well they said they wanted to keep her overnight for some IV fluids. My mom hadn't heard anything the next morning so she drove over to visit. They said she could not go back (our previous vet would always allow us back to see our pets, he has retired) and see her, but they would gladly bring her to the room. They brought my mom and almost frozen to death dog. They couldn't explain why she was so cold so My mom took Peanut home to warm her up because she was so cold. My mom knew she was going to die but wanted her to die at home where she was born. Peanut lived 4 more days in a soft warm bed at home with her sister and owners who took care of her from day one, Not a cold cage in a no compassion environment.

I took my cat to them. She was 8 years old...not old really for a cat. They told me she had cancer and had to stay for the night with fluids. The recession has hit everyone, especially those of us on social security. I agreed. When I realized I had forgotten my wallet at home, they threatened to quit treating her, so I called a friend who was willing to give them her credit card number and they would have nothing of it. They were withholding treatment until a good Samaritan gave me 100 dollars to get them to help her. With tears in my eyes and not being able to say good bye, I headed home at top speed, I only got a few blocks...they told me she died. When I returned they changed their story...now they would take my friends credit card. I came back and asked if I could see her. The blonde with the eyebrows....goes to check first...incredulously, she says to me as she walks me back to my cat...she looks peaceful now....??????? Peaceful? Is that a scripted sentence? She looked FAR from "peaceful". Her jaw was agap, she looked like she spent her last minutes SCREAMING or seeing a horrible beast (It was probably both). She was still moving as I reached in and closed her loving eyes....her jerking made me think...was there life in her? The Vet came over after I demanded that someone check her....Dr. Botros pushed past me and put a stethoscope on her chest for a half a second..."she's DEAD" and walked away.
I won't ever go there again.
Still missing my cat in HB

terrible experience
Dr. Beshai,
It has been five days since I brought our beloved dog Abby to your hospital. I realize the decision I made to end Abbys life in a compassionate dignified manner was the right decision. The choice I made to bring her to your facility was the worst I or anyone else could have made.
There was no Professionalism.
There was no Compassion.
There was no Dignity.
There was no Tenderness.
That is what I was hoping to find at your hospital. Instead, there was severe harshness, cruelty, there was arrogance, and there was imperviousness.
This was not an act of euthanasia. This more closely resembles an execution. Dr. Botros and two other men entered the exam room. Abby was lying on the floor in the corner. There was no introduction, there was no eye contact. I had to assume this man holding a syringe was the vet. The other two men could have been janitors for all I knew. One of them actually straddled Abby and yanked her into a sitting position when the other man grabbed her leg to shave it. My friend and I tried to go to her asked that she be put on the table. Once on the table Dr. Botros took her front leg and started to inject the medication. He must have been in a hurry while preparing the injection or he just didnt care. After pushing half the medication in, the needle completely detached from the syringe the medication squirted all over. All I could think of was my dog he feverishly reconnected the needle and syringe and pushed what was left in the syringe. At that point he said the x-rays were bad you did the right thing.
Why couldnt he come into the room introduce himself without his body guards maybe assess her condition and start from there? This whole experience is inexcusable. How do you continue to work there? Dr. Botros should have chosen another profession.
I cannot and will not refer anyone to your facility. Thank you for hearing my story. Maybe there is hope for you.
I dont think filing a complaint with the Veterinary Board of California will make a difference. It is something I will consider although the point of the visit was to end her life.
The card I received was sent with no sincerity- no one took the time to sign it. Please read the following reviews of AAA Animal Hospital attached
Very truly yours,
Sarah Elizabeth Kardashian

AAA recommended giving my little dog 2 flea medications- 1 that causes every 1 in 4 dogs to be sick and my dog puked all night and was terribly ill. When I brought her back in, they couldn't figure out why she was sick and said she shouldnt have had that medication. The nurses are never very friendly and really dont seem to care about your pet. I now go to Corona Del Mar vet and they are 100 times better

I had a very bad experience. The charge for the office visit ($25.00) is very reasonable but they tried to charge me for a bunch of "extras" - things my cat did not need. Shame on them. It's very obvious they care about money above all else. I will NEVER bring my cat there again!

The worst experience ever. I took my 10 week old Saint Bernard there for a urinary tract infection. They changed her diet to prescribed canned dog food for a month and antibiotics for 14 days. They only gave me enough meds for 10 days instead of what was prescribed 14 days. By the time I noticed she had already been finished taking her meds for 3 days. Spoke to the receptionist, yes the doctor wants her on the meds for 14 days come back and pick up the extra 4 days of meds at no charge. I guess not, since you charged me for 14 days of meds originally. Sorry to say with the delay in meds the UTI did not clear up. With that said, I took her back they the Dr put her on stronger meds for 7 days & continue with the prescribed food and they wanted to do another urine analysis on day 9. OK. I went on vacation on day 8 and decided since they were aware of her condition that I would board her with them instead of where my golden retriever vacations. I dropped her off on Friday with 35 cans of prescribed food for her to be fed 3 cans a day and if needed 4 cans. I returned home 10 days later and they returned 18 cans if food to me. You do the math. She still has the UTI and they didn't start giving her meds again until 6 days after the urine analysis was done. She had sores on all 4 legs where she had just laid in the kennel apparently not taken out to walk or play in 10 days. Sad to say, but my little Saint Bernard puppy still has the UTI and is still on meds and I feel like the worst person in the world for leaving her in such horrible conditions. I've taken 4 of my dogs to this vet and never again will they see any pet of mine nor board them there.

took my older cat there spent 530$ to pay in full for the estimate. when I pick my cat up they charged another 215$ for stuff that was on the estimate bill. There was not reason to charge me the extra money. and first off they should have told me my cat would not be getting any better and given me the choice to put her down she was very old and very sick and they kept given me false hopes just to keep my wallet open. I ended up maxing my credit cards to these people.

I've been taking my dog to AAA since we got her from the Humane Society next door over 10 years ago. The care has sometimes been good--the doctor was caring and informative; but all too often the service was poor. For example, the front staff was rude, phone calls were not answered or returned, they failed to put a bandage over a bleeding cut. In addition, the grooming has been inconsistent--sometimes her cut is nice and even and others many shaggy spots are left. Although comments by other reviewers have indicated that the prices are exceptional, I don't agree and several times I have been charged for procedures that I do not believe were done, including the bandaging of my dog's cut paw that I was charged for although it was clearly not done). If I knew a better vet facility, I would change.

I took my lab here almost two years ago. The service, wait time, compassion, and of course prices, were all great. I unfortunately lost my lab about 10 months ago, but just got a 5 mo. old puppy that I am taking there tomorrow for a well check. I'll post again after that. It is unfortunate there isn't a bell curve for reviews as a couple of these sounded like impatient people, and the one with a recurring problem that wanted meds w/out a visit....that would be malpractice as the animal could very well have more than one, or a different problem in a period of 5 weeks. I'd have rated with a 4, but threw in an extra one to compensate for the extreme the other way!

I was referred to AAA Animal Hospital by a good friend and a responsible pet owner, and I have been so pleased with them. I've been lucky enough to get to know all three doctors there, and they are incredibly considerate, educated and pet-loving people.
I had my puppy taken in to get his vaccinations and to get neutered. The service and the facilities are outstanding, and all the front desk girls are such great young ladies.
After reading a few of the "negative" reviews on here, I just feel like the writers of those reviews are impatient and bitter people who always feel like anyone in medical services are trying to rip them off. I don't get that at AAA. Their prices are beyond fair and they're extremely decent people. I will continue to take my puppy there.

I brought my 9 year old dog, Muffy, in for his annual check up for arthritis for the 1st time at AAA. Normally at my other vet blood work and his meds end up costing me over $400. At AAA the price was so reasonable and the young Doctor was very informative and caring. The hospital was very busy but I was still seen quickly. I can see how this hospital gets a bad rep for IMPATIENT people but I have since referred all my friends to come here for the excellent prices and care they offer.

I took my cat there for dental cleaning. It used to be a good hospital. Front staff argumentative and difficult. Their policy is to call the owner if any extractions are to be done, I never got a call. In fact, I never got a single phone call or follow-up phone call ever from this hospital. When I picked her up, they said $20 for the extractions! I wasn't informed or consulted. Also, she had abnormal labs. I had to ask for the results and ask for the vet to discuss them with me otherwise I wouldn't have known, I was being sent out the door without a consult with the vet. Also, I was denied pain medication when I picked her up, I was told it isn't necessary. She had severe gingivitis and 2 extractions. I phoned the next day and got grilled as to why she needed pain medication and was promised by 8am the next morning, my pharmacy would be called, it wasn't. Now 3 days after her surgery. I still do not have pain medication. I will never, ever go back there. They are less expensive than most, but it is not worth it for inferior care, poor attitude and really, a don't give a damn attitude. I have been a pet owner for 30 years. This is the worst experience I have ever had. I would advise anyone who loves and cares for their animals to go to a professional, caring facility, even if it costs more. I will also write to the CVMA, as this is an inhumane way to treat any pet.

I took my kitten in for spay and declaw. I priced 3 vets and was amazed how much I saved. One vet was $545, the other was $425. I ended up only spending $245. Great new facility, friendly staff and NO problems with recovery for our "kitty girl". She's recovering very nicely. I will return to them

This place is not the place you would ANY animal that you care about! The vet obviously only cares about the almighty dollar - he is not pleasant, has little people skills and his office staff is not much better! He has little if any compassion for you or your pet. My cat went there for a simple vaccination, was handed back to me bleeding from the injection spot!?! When have you ever heard of that happening?! People go there under the assumption that because he is next door to the "OC Humane Society" he himself must be humane! HA! You know what they say about the word "ass-u-me"! ! There are so many great vets in the area - AVOID THIS ONE AT ALL COSTS! ! !

I took my 13 year old dog here. After an extensive battery of tests and several hundreds of dollars spent, they prescribed meds. My dog got much better on the meds, but when his condition came back 5 weeks later, they refused to re-up his prescrption unless I brought him back for another evaluation (and spent considerably more money). I attempted to contact the "Dr." numerous times on the phone, but he refused to return any of my calls. It appears they are more concerned with money than the welfare of an animal. Avoid this place at all costs!

The hospital is currently undergoing construction of a new facility, so they are in trailers right now, but that does not stop the excellent service. The Receptionists are extremely friendly and helpful, the head doctor and owner has been in veterinary medicine for 20 years or so I was told. I have never had a single problem while taking my pets to AAA Animal hospital.
Great Hospital
Friendly Staff
A+ Hospital
