I love this store! The owner is lovely and so helpful. If you cant find what your looking for just ask! I needed some snow gear and didnt see any on the floor, the owner nipped off to her storage and brought back just what I needed. I couldnt be happier with the service I received.

I visited this store on 2 separate occasions and in both cases the employees were rude, disrespectful and condescending. Not only would I not buy anything from this store, I would not recommend that you let them sell your items. I have never experienced such audacity from a customer service establishment. These people need to find a new line of work.

My new baby grandson was coming to visit me from
Colorado. I needed a pack and play and a little bouncey chair for him. I called Small Fry before going and to see if they had either one of these items. They were very helpful to me on the phone. I went during my lunch hour, so my time was very limited. I found the exact pack and play that I wanted. The owner was very helpful in assisting me. He even showed me how to set up the bed, and then carried to my car for me. I didn't have much time to shop but what I did see I was very impressed. The store is clean and very kid friendly. I will definitely be going back there. Sarah F.

I have had very similar experiences as the one posted on 9/17/07. I am glad to see that it is not just me. I really dread going inside. I feel they (I think it's a husband and wife - but she is the one that comes across so rude) are always glaring at me and sizing me up, especially when I have my (2 very well behaved) kids with me. They don't seem to find joy in children, so one wonders why they own this shop. I guess it's all about the profit and not about the children and customers. That is obvious. You get no warm and fuzzies with them! You do feel that at any moment they will find something wrong that you or your children are doing. I have had the same curt responses from her. My first unpleasant experience with them was when they were located on Railroad Ave. It has not gotten any better since moving to the Hartz location. I only go in to this shop out of necessity when I am looking for something specific or need some girl scout accessories. We are limited here in Danville with our choices for childrens clothing and like I said.....I dread going in. What a shame!

The woman who owns this store Linda Sterling has got to be the rudest woman I have ever met in my life. Shopping here was the worst experience ever. Within minutes of getting in the store and looking at books I was being followed by the owner barefoot commenting on how she felt my daughter's Crocs were at least 3/1/2 sizes too big for her. I told her they fit her fine and my daughter liked them and felt they were comfortable. She still kept commenting on her shoes. She then asked me where I got my daughters Cal cheerleading uniform and matching bows. I told her and she still continued to hover over us as we were looking at books. While my daughter and I were at the register purchasing the books my daughter wanted the owner once again approached me barefoot and asked if I intended on buying the 2 stuffed toys my daughter was holding. I said no, she is just holding them we are putting those back. She then replied that it needed to be put back now and that is why she put it up high on a shelf so she couldn't carry it around. Keep in mind these are used stuffed animals that were kept on the bottom shelf of a toddler sized shelf. I was so flabbergasted by her horrible customer service that after paying for my daughters books I came back in the store to get a business card so I could write a review on the store. The owner began yelling at me about how I need to learn to pick up beind myself when I go into a store, and continued yelling as I left the store. Keep in mind that the few toys my daughter played with that were on the floor I put right back where she got them from. This lady is the rudest person ever and shouldn't be able to run a shop when she doesn't even know how to treat her customers and the little kids that come in. There is a much better consignment store down the street where the owner is friendly and doesn't mind the kids playing with the toys and she sells only high end things. Its called Snickerdoodles on Hartz avenue

Cons: HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.. VERY RUDE TO CHILDREN AND CUSTOMERS

This is such a horrible consignment shop to go to for kids! The owner is very rude. I went into this store yesterday wih my daughter and the owner came over to my two year old and I and said that daugthers shoes were at least 3 1/2 sizes too big for her! She then proceeded to stand there and watch us as we looked at the books. She then asked me where my daughter got her cheerleading outfit she was wearing. I said Berkeley since it was a Cal outfit, and then she rudely asked wehre I got the bows in her hair. I said the same place. She continued to stand over us, without saying anything but with just a rude look on her face... When I went to the register to pay for the books that my daughter wanted the owner came back over (barefoot), and saw my daughter holding 2 stuffed animals she found on a shelf nearby. She asked if my daughter was going to be buying the stuffed animals. I said no, we're going to put that back. She is just holding it. The owner said well she needs to put that back right now... That's why I put it up high so she can't carry it around." Keep in mind the stuffed animals that were old and used were on a shelf that was the size of a toddler and not up high at all.... I was so upset that I left and came back in again to get a business card, and told the owner I was going to write a review on her store and the bad service. She said good, and proceeded to yell at me about needing to learn to clean up benind myself... Which was a complete lie. Everything my daughter played with at the store I put back... She continued to yell at me as I walked out the store. So if you are ever in the area of think of going to this store please don't go in, unless you are going to complain. I can't believe this woman has the nerve to run a children's thrift store with toys and doesn't want the kids to touch the toys, and treats her paying customers this way. Go to Snickerdoodles down the street which is much better, and high end consignment store down the street for kids where the owner is friendly and doesn't mind the kids playing with the toys. Small Fry is a horrible shop and shouldn't even be in business.
