This place cant be beat if you want good Chinese food without the far drive. The dim-sum is delicious and the dinner menu is even better. The prices are higher than Chinatown but you don't have to drive is far. I would recommend this place to everyone.

This restaurant is great! The decoration is nice. My favorite part is that you can pick your fresh sea food live in front of you. When I was little I used to love looking at the fish tanks. The food is really great! I love their dim sum.

When you don't want the hassle of driving to Chinatown or to Monterey Park, this is my favorite place to go.
Service is always good and never have parking issues.
Of course, the dim sum is the best! Wide variety of all the classic favorites served by a very efficient staff.
The place is a good size so you don't have to wait forever for the cart with your favorites to reach your table. Also good for parties, business groups and families.

Great Genuine Dim Sum on the westside! Not expensive at all. Popularly accepted by both the Asian and American crowds. Really enjoyed the food and great variety of things.

Overpriced and lousy dim sum at South Bay

I was told by my friends about the bad service and the quality of the food. i went with friends last week. The dim sums were very bad and over price.. I dont mind to pay for quality food. But the lousy food we had that morning and the expensive food items was a ripped off. I strongly to urge you to think twice before you go for dim sum at Sea Empress.. I regret that i did not drive to Montery park or San Gabriel for the authentic chinese food. Anyone knows a good chinese dim sum restaruant in south bay,,, please let me know...

Went there for Saturday dim sum, arriving at noon for best selection. Service was very good, staff very efficient. The food was a bit disappointing, not of the quality that I had expected based on the previous (older) reviews. It may had been an off day for the kitchen, but....
Pros: Good Service
Cons: Dim Sum quality was disappointing for our visit.

Best in the South Bay!

I love dim sum, and this place is by far the best in the area! Inexpensive, large selection, and just fresh and delicious dim sum! Perfect for a large business luncheon as can handle large groups.

I've been to all of the major dim sum haunts in LA.. from Santa Monica to Monterey Park to China Town... Sea Empress is my favorite..
The dim sum is consistently good. I love their shrimp rice noodle.
They have a pretty good selection of Dim Sum -- more so on the weekends.
If you arrive too late on a weekday, don't expect a lot of selection or freshness...
I really like the people who work there.. very nice.
