Children's Health Council Inc

This agency provides a multidisciplinary approach to assessing children with behavioral, developmental, educational challenges. The council is expensive and most services are not covered by private insurance. However, professionals from different disciplines are teamed together to share information and address the needs of the whole child.

My son has some behavior issues and developmental delays and after years in private therapies and therapy through the school district, I made the decision that not having a comprehensive evaluation (instead of Occupational Therapy evaluation and Speech therapy evaluations in a vacuum). I have friends who have gone through this process and they recommended CHC without hesitation. I left a message and within a few hours, they called me back and walked me through what I needed to do to get my son the evaluations and later, services he needed.

They have an integrated Speech and OT group, a social skills group and other services. And they work on a sliding scale, which was important to me, because finances had previously held me back from getting the services my son needed.
