$Benjamins$

I operate this veterinary clinic, and we do not have any vets fresh out of "high school". Between the vets who work here we have combined over 50 years of experience. I did not hear anything from this person about any reaction from vaccines. If we hear of such a vaccine reaction from a client we address it and resolve it with no charge. Our vaccine prices have been raised only three times in 20 years, and are very reasonable. In fact, I believe they are the lowest in our area.
Our fees for all other services are also very reasonable, and we always advise owners of all of their options and and make recommendations based on the needs of the pet. Sometimes people take offense for one reason or another, but I have never had anyone claim that we care more about money than the well-being of the pet (or owner for that matter).
The tone of the $All about the Benjamisn$ review below seems inaccurately biased for some reason that is not easily determined.

Great service, caring people
by Tina B.
I have used this office for almost 20 years and I have always received great service with all of the animals I bring in, rescued or not. My questions are always answered, and I feel that they are fairly priced. I would recommend them without reservation. Most recently my 19 year old cat had to be put down because her kidneys gave out. She had a dignified end to her life and I am thankful for the folks at Pacific Veterinary.

Shoddy Care at Pacific Vet. Service
by Michael S.
I used this vet for 12+ years for my Jack Russell Terriers, Zoe and Zachary.
No problems until Zoe, about five years at the time, developed a pyoderma-type rash. Dr. Gail Todd dx'd allergies (based on, a guess?). After seeing a dermatologist and, finally, a homeopathic vet, she was dx'd with hypothyroidism. With supplemental thyroid hormone, no further skin problems.
Unfortunately, I didn't learn from Zoe's experience.
Zachary was 10 years old when I noticed a lump behind his knee, and being due for his check up and dental, I brought him in. He also seemed to have lost weight.
Indeed! He had gone from 22 to 17 lbs. the tech. noted with some concern.
Dr. Todd thought the swelling was due to an infected tooth, which she removed. Blood test came back with high lymphocyte count, thus, she thought, confirming the infection. Zack was sent home with antibiotics.
He finished the course of antibiotics, and, when he was brought in to remove the stitches in his mouth, I asked to see Dr. Todd regarding the continued swelling, which I also noted in the submaxillary glands. I wasn't allowed to see Todd, but the receptionist relayed her message: not to worry, the antibiotics would deal with it.
After three weeks, with no change, I brought Zack back and asked for another blood test. Dr. Nagel
said he feared lymphoma, which the tests confirmed.
Despite aggressive therapy, Zack died three months later, on Jan. 1, 2008.
I have since learned that weight loss with swollen lymph nodes should have set alarm bells ringing.
I have also learned that the protocol for immunization (formerly every year) was changed to every three years in 2003. Yet every year like clockwork I would get a reminder in the mail for boosters, and like a chump, I didnt question it . I have since learned the value of having titers done.
I can't and will never know if Zack could have been saved with an earlier diagnosis. Nor can I know if Zoe's autoimmune disorder (cause of hypothyroidism, and later, her death) was linked to over-vaccination.
I have never been able to set foot in their office since then, but I will warn every pet parent I know to steer clear of Dr. Gail Todd.

Excellent veterinary care!!
by Michael A.
I've been taking my dogs Taffy and Peanuts to Drs. Nagle and Todd for 16 yrs. and 6 yrs. respectively. They always explain what's going on very thoroughly. They are reasonably priced. They truly care about your pet and you. You can have complete confidence that your animal is getting the best care available. The staff is great, very friendly, outgoing and skilled. You will not find better doctors to care for your beloved pet.

Excellent Care
by mary v.
Dr. Nagel is genuinely concerned about my animals and I have been a client for 10 years. The staff was very helpful with and saved my cat, Milton's life when I brought him in on an emergency after leaving another vet's office. He was dehydrated and not eating. Dr. Nagel and his staff hydrated him and sent us home with an appetite enhancer. My poor little guy barely made it - I am so thanful they were there to take care of the situation. He lived for 5 more years to the age of 18.

Excellent Care and Response
by Melissa M.
In an emergency they always tell me to come right over. Fairly priced (they even have a weekly "discount day" for routine vaccinations) and very knowledgeable!

Very helpful and friendly
by Eri A.
Dr. Nagel is very thorough, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Every question I've ever had about my cat has been answered. Unlike some other vets I've come across, he never cuts corners nor rushes you out the door. We adopted a kitten from the humane society with a stubborn upper respitory infection. The doctor has been extremely informative, given me all options I had, and has been helping us make decisions on her treatment. The office is clean and doesn't smell like a vet. My overall exeperience has been more than satisfactory.
PROS: Our cat gets as much attention as we do at our doctor's office.

Dr. Robert Nagel and Dr. Gail Todd have been taking care of my lab/mix, Maude, since she was 6 weeks old and now she is 10 years old. They have given excellent care for Maude, are caring and compassionate and are in a location that I frequent. I would highly recommend them.
