Great breakfast place, but be ready to pay for what you get. This isn't cheap, diner food, it's gormet & wonderful. The french toast is amazing, the orange juice is fresh & delicious & the atmosphere is eclectic, quaint.

As an eggs benedict lover, I was disappointed in Venita Rhea's version which they call the "Bobby Earl". The hollandaise sauce was watery and bland, the canadian bacon was tough and the country potatoes were burnt.

Too bad...I had heard many good things about this restaurant, which were true (good service, friendly staff, nice atmosphere) but it's all about the food so I wouldn't come here again.

As an eggs benedict lover, I was disappointed in Venita Rhea's version which they call the "Bobby Earl". I was even more disappointed because I had heard many good things about this restaurant, which were true (good service, friendly staff, nice atmosphere).

The only things "right" about the eggs benedict were that the eggs were properly poached and the dish was served warm. The hollandaise sauce was watery and bland, the canadian bacon was tough and the country potatoes were burnt...not slightly burnt, but inedible charcoal-briquet-like burnt.

One star for the service and one star for the freshly squeezed orange juice.

The restaurant was crowded, we had to wait a long time for breakfast, by the time we got seated it was lunch. The eggs benedict was okay, not the best. I thought it would be a lot better then it was.

We had breakfast here 8/6/07, it was amazing. The wait was about 30 mins, but for a Sunday brunch time it was expected. The menu had so many choices. When our food arrived it was amazing. I couldn't even describe the amount of food you get, it was wonderful. Fresh squeezed OJ and homemade jam. The staff was great. I would have loved it more if we could have eaten outside because the morning was so nice, however I will go again and again, and it recommend it to all those I love. Just a few notes: Take an EMPTY stomach because you will walk away more than satisfied.TRY IT, YOU WILL LOVE IT. A Real Diamond!!!

I love this place. I have been going there for years. Breakfast and lunch can't be beat. I only have one complaint, the coffee taste terrible. Very bitter and I love a good cup of coffee with breakfast and when I eat thereI have to drink tea. That is my only negative thing to say. Otherwise I highly reccommend this place to everyone.

Venita Rhea's is an outstanding value in the Breakfast & Lunch category.

On Saturdays & Sundays, you need to make reservations because they have a huge line waiting to get in! (They serve free coffee to people waiting for their table)

Venita's also caters for Wedding Receptions.....they are probably the best wedding caterer in Placer County.

Outstanding breakfast platters......great lunch items......Venita Rhea's never disappoints....

Caveat: You must phone ahead for reservations on Saturday or Sundays, or else you will be waiting in line for one hour to be seated......they are not open for dinner.

NOTE: I'm also a wedding DJ, and from my experience, Venita Rhea's is one of the best wedding and event caterers in Placer County. Their food is exceptional and at very reasonable prices!

My daughter loves the Chicken Fried Steak platter (available for either breakfast or lunch). It actually comes on 2 large plates: one plate for the gargantuan steak, and the other which holds 3 eggs, home fries, and choice of toast. (Warning: two persons with medium appetites can "split" this entree).

For no-nonsense break and american-cafe food, this is the place to go! The gigantic, tasty portion sizes at low prices makes Venitas Rhea an automatic must-go. They serve great traditional breakfasts - eggs, ham, hash brown, omlettes - and they serve great cafe dining lunches like tri-tip, chicken-fried steak, and giant hamburgers.

What really makes the trip worthwhile is the large mural in their "French"-style decor. Look closely and you'll see some interesting characters. Also, their service is very good. The serves are attentive to your needs and very friendly.

Randy and Lisa have done a super fantastic job of creating a quaint french country ambiance in their choice of decor/colors. Even their bathrooms are an experience to remember! You almost can't help but be happy when your there...then you get to eat the food!! Talk about happy from the the inside out! They have fabulous chefs and have picked up many unique entrees through their continuing education at culinary "expos". A MUST - ESPECIALLY FOR BREAKFAST!
