being small makes it intimate and homey feeling but sometimes crowded. If you are in a hurry say so when you sit down as the service is sometimes a little slow, the owner and staff are friendly, caring and do their best to please. The food is very good and generous in portion, the menu very healthy. The sushi is traditional, not a lot of fancy rolls, but for those who appreciate quality, and personable sushi man you won't be disappointed. There are many weekend regulars who add a warmth and humor to the sushi bar. Did I mention that Hori is a GREAT sushi man?

I am, or never will be, a restaurant snob. I do not know what good or bad sushi is ( I would never touch the stuff myself), but all the dishes I have eaten at Sachi Sushi to date have been perfect. It is not extravagant at all, but I am not looking for that in a place to dine. I am just desiring a calm place to have dinner with a friend where the cuisine is cooked well and there's not a lot of hooplah. Sachi Sushi has all these characteristics and would reccommend it to anyone. it is very handy that it is right across the street from the Laemelle Theatre too so it makes for a good night out.

If you are impressed by interior decoration, or can't eat rice without soy sauce on it, find another place to eat. If you want REAL Japanese food (not a Korean or Chinese interpretation), you'll enjoy Sachi. Wait staff is friendly, but don't expect chit-chat and a Hollywood smile. Our kids were born in Japan, and this is their favorite restaurant. It's not 5-star, but prices are reasonable and food is always good.

My family and I went to this restaurant for the first time. What a GREAT experience! Horichan, at the Sushi Bar, was GREAT company. The preparation of the food, was EXCELLENT both tasteful/presentation. Both our daughters was able to enjoy dinner with us and this is a PLUS!.

My daughters and I had the Terriyaki combo w/Tempura. OMG! So DELICIOUS.........

If you have HIGH standards for a restauarant, then this place is NOT for you. You will have HIGH expectations.

As for us, the place was very casual and inviting. The waitors and waitressess were VERY kind. Definitely this is OUR place in Pasadena when eating out.

I love this place! Very authentic Japanese food with such a cute atmosphere! Very "local" feeling. If you think PF Changs is AMAZING, don't go here. My guess is the last reviewer was one of those people.

I'm sorry, but simply put this is hands down the worst sushi & japanese restaurant in So-Cal.

My wife ordered the teriyaki chicken and I ordered the rib eye teriyaki beef (namely because everything else cost too much). Her chicken texture was as if they had boiled the chicken and then put teriyaki sauce on it. My beef was the same, but it was a little more tough than that, just barely. From what I read on the menu, it seems like they are trying to be a healthy version of Japanese food, and the quality or lack of quality shows. Even if they gave me a free meal plus a free gift certificate, I'd pass.

We did end up ordering Spicy Albacore Sushi which was good, but their sushi choice is poor. Most meals that come with sushi come either with california roll (which no real sushi person eats) or tuna sashimi.

I don't know, maybe it's that they need to pay for their high rent on Colorado but that's no excuse. If you don't know what Japanese food or even normal "other-owned" Japanese food should taste like, then feel free to go here. Otherwise stay clear. As a chinese american, I know what food should and should not taste like. Take it from me or see for yourself $20 deeper in your pockets.

I'd say the only plus is the outdoor seating in a nice area.

PROS: Outdoor seating
CONS: price, food, quality, sushi choices

The only part I can agree with the other reviews is that service is slow. The food wasn't that great, which made the prices seem high in comparison. It seems the place gets a lot of regulars there, but I don't see why that is the case. The best thing about the dinner I had was the fact that the green tea was hot. That's about it. They didn't even have tuna! Disappointed.

I was very impressed by Sachi Sushi. The ambiance was nice but casual as well, and there is outdoor seating with heat lamps. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food, and the prices were somewhat high but in-line with what other sushi places charge - reasonable for sushi. The best part is that they have a whole vegan menu!

Drawback - they have miso soup with their vegan meals, and it is not vegan - I had to double-check with them before they admitted it.

PROS: Food, ambiance, prices are all great
CONS: No vegan miso soup to go with their vegan items

This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants. You can get a bountiful sashimi dinner for less than $15. The sushi is delicious, generous, and most importantly, FRESH!! The restaurant itself is cute and usually pretty packed. They do have outdoor seating with heatlamps. Service is a bit slow and unresponsive but that's probably because they're so busy.

I've been going to Sachi for years now. I love the fact that their non sushi dishes taste comparable to the restaurants in Little Tokyo. I love their baked scallops on california roll. Sachi's lunch specials & lunchbox are good deals. Their portion is very generous & their prices are pretty reasonable.

This family run place is a really great place to eat Sushi. The specials are particularly authentic and the staff especially at the sushi bar is very friendly. It reminds me of the terrific sushi places you find in the back alleys of Tokyo.

PROS: Authentic specials, fresh fish, friendly sushi chef
CONS: none that I can think of

This is one of my favorite lunch spots in Pasadena. The place is very small but they have outside seating. Sachi specializes in bento box style lunches, where you get meat, salad, sushi or tempura, rice and a miso soup - all for about $6-$7 bucks. The service is quick, friendly and food always very good. I've been coming there for years and what's comforting is the consistence of high quality service and food.

Simple and affordable. Gracious and unobtrusive service. Consistent sushi and box lunches. Have been coming back with friends.
You can actually have a consersation and be able
to hear your partner.
Sachi sushi and Laemmle's theatre across the street make a great combination.
