Larry, writing in regards to my experience by Lion. Called Thursday, OKd bring Dodge in for check engine light, mechanic informed me No problem, bring it in Friday. Day off work drove 45 mi. disappointed to hear that We cannot take you today, too busy. Explaining your mechanic (using this word very lightly), said OK to bring in, left in your parking lot, (Stating this again due to your mechanic doing whatever he did to it to not make it start again). It would take until 11:30, back at 11:30, 3pm, returned, no work, 4:45, decided to get to it, all I wanted was a diagnostic, no work performed, so I could do the work myself, first time ever had my vehicle to a mechanic. Finally truck in your bay, happy I could go home, funnysitting in waiting room, K-Love on, soft spoken people, soft atmosphere, until called back to bay, was like heaven and hell, door purgatory. Walking through the doors and hearing both mechanics cussing loudly, F---this, f--- that, shitetcNot news to you, you may want to hold your team more accountable. Through the door in hopes of driving home after a long day at Lion mechanic starts into me ever changed my transmission? I did 5 years ago, You must have bent the flywheel. Seriously I am a car buff, restored many old, Fords and Chevys, along with engine rebuilds. Your guy was fishing. I gave you all sensors I had replaced, crank sensor twice, took my truck to you to find the problem, not crank sensor was bad, having already replaced it twice myself and it running for 2.5 years fine. Mechanic states that it sensor, disbelief, Ive had enough, my keys are handed, truck wont start. Your mechanic is pissed off about another car and mine, late Friday night or, your customer, that I am an inconvenience. I ask whats up, truck wont start? Why you handed my keys to truck that wont start will be a mystery forever. Youre pissed off mechanic informs me I need to watch him probe with my electrical pigtails, a basic mechanic should never do, due to static and/or the possibility of shorting something out. He did, most likely the cause of the truck not starting, again, Drove to you, was fine, driving fine for years until mechanic got ahold of it. Now 4:55, your guys yelling at Bob I told him its his crank sensor! Crank sensor bad again, seriously, after all I informed your guys prior to bringing it in? Here we are at 5:00pm, zero customer service, in fact I was told no OT is allowed and cant help you! No ride home, took a day off of work, drove a long way, gas, time, etcunacceptable. Now I am told once again that my truck wont start due to my crank sensor, and need to purchase one, unfortunately this will not happen until the following Monday. You are kidding right, really? So after paying $125.00 for who-knows-what service on Friday and having to call for a ride back home, I am not happy that the crank sensor that your mechanic shorted out trying to fish for the problem is now my problem. So Monday comes, I have to inconvenience a friend to pick up for me as I work in Modesto. A miracle truck started, I have to pay another $93.61 for parts not needed, already replaced twice. My friend drives away; the check engine light comes on. Same as I delivered to you on Friday, dash check engine light on, and code Crank sensor. No change, out time, money, zero change, zero fix. I bring it back; again, get a ride home, etcBob states that It is fixed, no check engine light! Great, can you please drop it off at Charlies Smog, No problem, Im happy? So you Larry, and Bob drop my truck, throw the keys at the smog guy and state Its your problem! Drive off. Immediately receive a call from Charlies smog stating that you dropped off my truck with the check engine light on. Your service and employees shoddy, but your integrity is beyond question, a very bad experience. Charlies fixed it, knew exactly what was wrong, not the crank sensor as I explained numerous time over. Truck is fixed, smog passed and no check engine light on, amazing, informed along the way, integrity 100%. I am requesting a full refund for both payments from you ASAP. If I do not receive this amount immediately, by mail to my home within the week, I will add to your already horrible experiences by others, and your website, but what you did is against the law, I will be relentless in collecting along with immediately contacting and informing the Bureau of Auto Repair 800-952-5210
Hands on approach to your business, hold team accountable, honesty, tell people what the problem is, no lies to get customers, or band aids, a personal touch and lead by example.
Times up
Disputed Chase Bank, with Bureau of Auto Repair claim being investigated, Department of Consumer Repairs very helpful.
Charlies Smog on Clinton in Fresno for all your check engine light repairs, integrity and superior service!

Jennifer, I'm a lady and I have been to Lion Automotive on a couple of occasions. I have yet to experience what you've experienced. A CV boot sounds odd? From what I've experienced and knowing very little about vehicles myself, a CV boot would not be on Lion Auto's top priority list. Lion Auto uses several electrical diagnostic machines to test vehicles FIRST before anything is done. From what I see and know, Larry Lion's philosophy is, "If an automotive business knows nothing about electrical (which all vehicles today are filled with electrical (radio, Bluetooth, XM radio, power windows, etc.)) gadgets, someway, somehow, you shouldn't be messing with any vehicles in the first place. Finding the root of the problem really is Lion Auto objective. So I find it unusually odd that you said what you said.

You also mentioned swindling. Lion Auto, along with VERY few other ethical automotive shops, in today's economy, are no where near afraid of refusing your business first before swindling you.

Jennifer W. is incorrect in the statements she made in her review. First off, no work is ever done of vehicles without prior authorization from customers. Old parts are always given to cutomer when they ask for them. On rare occassions a problem is noticed and taken care of. When a customer picks up their vehicle, other problems may become evident when they may not have been to begin with. Lion Automotive always honors their work. If a customer chooses not to let that happen, it's out of Lion Automotive's hands.

My car was stalling out for no reason, so a random look through the yellow pages led me to Lion's. I went in and they took my car for a couple of hours. They told me the problem was the CV boot needed to be replaced. I honestly knew NOTHING about cars at the time, and agreed. They charged me $200, and never showed me my old part or anything. On the way home, my car stalled out again. I called them and they responded "well, the boot needed to be replaced anyway. Your problem is probably the fuel pump. Bring it back and we'll replace it for $275." Well, I ended up taking my car to a RELIABLE place (see my other reviews!), and it turned out to be a little part that they only charged me a few bucks for. It never stalled again. In the meantime, Lion refused to deal with me or even acknowledge they had swindled me. I will NEVER go back there again.

PROS: It was close to my house
CONS: Thieves! Swindlers! Bad Business people!
