Sonoma Foods Inc

This place is really more of a deli than a "cheese factory". We actually thought it was going to be a place where cheese is made and were disappointed to find out it wasn't. However, we ordered sandwiches from the deli which were large and very good. My niece and I actually split one of them between the two of us. It was very crowded and busy, busy, busy.

The Cheese Factory is a place that any tourist coming to Sonoma should visit. Right on the Plaza, it offers some pleasing menu choices for a great lunch or snack. They dont actually make cheese at this facility anymore, but have extended their gift shop and added more seating. You can sample a variety of their cheeses, get deli sandwiches or salads, pre-packaged picnic items, and much more. They have an outside grill and seating area where you can have your burger (meat or veggie) cooked to order. You can eat there or use the picnic tables at the park across the street. This place is packed on weekends, locals are more likely to go there during the week.

They make their own cheese and you can taste it before buying it - they have every kind of cheese you would want - they also have other merchandise that you would find in a good deli - you can get a great sandwich and the trimming for lunch or a big snack - they have a section of gift ware - this store is worth a visit - the staff is friendly and helpful.
