It is defamatory to call it Lupe??s. I used to love it, now it is horrible. Prices have doubled, 1,2,3 item combos are $10,$15,$18. Three terrible tacos with rice and beans are $18. The cheese was grated months ago and shipped. Cheese grating not too much to ask for. It has the white powder of freezer burn on it. The rice is so bad , Lupe is not rolling a burrito. She is rolling in her grave.

I agree with the review that rated the food low. I too can't understand why folks like to eat there. The food is greasy and tasteless, and over rated. No disrespect to the late namesake, but she too would be disappointed with todays preparation. I would much rather go to Leti's in Thousand Oaks. Much mmore authentic and tasty.

My friends and I feel that Lupe's is the worst Mexican restaurant in Conejo Valley and do not understand why so many people love it. Ate there recently after remodel to give it another chance and found it just as bad as my first experiience 20 years ago. I was appalled that they still cook food using lard -- give our arteries a break! The tortilla chips were very greasy and food mediocre. Waitress did not remember to bring items requested and had to ask serveral times. Do not plan on ever going again.

Most authentic Mexican food around. My family has been going there for over 30 years. Absolute best Mexican food in the area. We love it! We even have friends that come from Orange County and have to go there every time they visit. Can't say enough about it.

Lupe's has awesome mexican food at good prices. Only drawback - on a weekend night be prepared to wait for a table. I go there often and highly recommend it.

This place has been in business since the late 1940's. I started eating there with my family as a little girl when I was 5 years old, back in 1964.

They still make the same delicious recipes today as they did then.
The business has been handed down to family members generation
to generation. They make delicious and authentic Tex-Mex style ground beef tacos and also delicious Cheese Enchiladas that are to die for. Homemade Refried beans and Mexican rice taste as good now as they did in 1964.

Located on Thousand Oaks Blvd for all these years now. Go in and try them, you will love the food and the service. A cafe style eatery with Mexican decor and outstanding food.

This is a family restaurant that's been in the area for a long time. The food is authentic and delicious. Service is also very good. Take a bag of chips to go for only one dollar!

For some reason, this place is really popular... I can't figure out why. The chips are greasy and gross, the service is crappy, and it has all the ambience of a truck stop diner. Apparently the favorite dish among my co-workers is the burger (I thought it was a Mexican food joint!?) - though I'm not brave enough to try it. I only go here if I'm dragged against my will. And if you happen to be a vegetarian... don't even think about it. They sneak meat into everything - probably even the water.

Pros: Doesn't smell, as bad as, it tastes.

Cons: Gag me, with a, spoon.

Lupe's is great. I've been going there ever since the early 1960s. Sometimes you want good old Mexican food without all of the fancy stuff that chains like El Torito and The Alamo try to add to their menu. By that, I mean, sometimes you don't want a shrimp burrito or a Mexican" caesar salad - just some cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. Lupe's is good and inexpensive. AND, it looks exactly like it did in 1965. Another great thing is if you are sick of hamburgers from chain restaurants with way too much junk on them, Lupe's makes a great hamburger that is simple and is like one you might have bought in a diner in the 1950s.
