Bond's Automotive is reliable, honest, trustworty and fair.

by marvilynne H.

Reliable, honest, trustworthy, fair. As I have trust in my doctor or dentist, I have total faith in Michael Bond and his employees and have for over 14 years. As a single woman, I wouldn't think to take my car anywhere else. Bond's was referred to me by a friend. I continue to refer Bond's to all of my friends in need of an honest mechanic. Michael Bond has always delivered on his promises regarding when the car will be ready, what it's going to cost and when it wasn't worth fixing. I feel very fortunate to have found this gem of a business so many years ago, and highly recommend Bond's to anyone in doubt

Bond's Automotive is Sneaky

by CELINE D.

I THINK IT IS HILARIOUS THAT THE MAJORITY OF THE REVIEWS ARE EITHER WRITTEN BY EMPLOYEES OR FAMILY MEMBERS. Try being honest for a change and you may actually receive honest reviews. As far as I am concerned the only honest hard working employee at Bonds Automotive is Scott S. He actually cares and is honest.

Honest and Reliable

by Mike J.

I've been going to Bond's for over 5 years. They have always been honest and fair. The shop seems to be always busy so it may be later in the day before they get a chance to look at it. So plan accordingly. The negative comments below seem fishy, all the same zip code, use of lower case names, etc.

Bond's is where it's at!!!

by Joseph P.

Like everyone who's reading this, I always google any business I am thinking about spending my hard earned money on. I don't care what they have to say about themselves, I am more concerned w/ the testimonies telling me what others have actually experienced. Bond's Auto had the best rating, so I started to read the reviews. For the most part, their customers had been satisfied, but there was some reviews that had me worried. I felt a little hesitant after that, but then I had seen that the actual Owner had written a response to those few bad reviews, assuring people that nothing had changed. I decided to give them a chance...& I am happy I did. I had already gone to another shop about a problem a had w/ my interior lights, & they told me that it was a BIG thing..& it would be alot of work. I decided to get a second opinion, & the boys at Bond's not only found the problem...but they had told me it was just a simple fix! Proffesional to the tee, and best of all, they DIDNT over charge. I am VERY happy and satisfied for both the work done, & the manner in which it was conducted. I am DEFINITELY a loyal customer now. Don't let the "bad" reviews sway you...Bond's is where it's at.

Couldn't be more satisfied!!!

by Christina H.

I have been a customer of Bond's for 9 years now and I would never trust my vehicle with any other mechanic! They are always very honest and explain what they are doing and how it will affect my vehicle. They never try to oversell me and they have the, "if this were my vehicle, this is what I would do" mentality. I know that when I leave my vehicle there I don't have to worry. I'm so happy to have found such a great mechanic.

SAVED THE DAY!

by Jill W.

THANKS!!! I was recently in an auto accident and had my car totalled. I was on the phone for 45 minutes with my insurance company and was unsuccessful getting a tow truck out. I called Mike and he calmed me over the phone and had a tow truck there in less than 30 minutes. I would recommend anyone to go to Bond's for great personal service. I not only needed a mechanic that day but a true friend and he definitely came through for me on such a stressful day.

Thank you to all my great customers

by Pat G.

Dear loyal customers,
I have been in business now for over 15 years and have never ever seen the economy as it is. It has affected us like everyone else. In Feb. I had to make a tough choice and had to lay off a valuable tech. It was a hard choice but one that had to be made to stay in business. Since then we have been getting very bad reviews from names we have never dealt with. It makes me so sad, these are all false and did out of spite. Please call us if you ever read such a review at 619-461-7623. I just want to thank all of my wonderful customers new and old. I value each and everyone that walks through our doors and as you can see before Feb. all of our reviews are 4-5 stars. I am proud to have such a great customer base! We feel very confident about the repairs that we perform on your vehicles. We feel so strongly about our work that we stand behind it 100% by giving you a warranty of 12 months or 12,000 miles, which is equivalent as most car manufacturers. I will say it again, we are proud to be in business and proud to serve such great customers!! Thank you!

Honest, consistent and great customer service!

by Nancy N.

Bond's Automotive is the best place to take your car! I have been going to Bond's automotive for about three years. Every time I go, I feel that they are looking out for me like I was one of their own family. I first went because someone had hit my car. I had already gone to the insurance adjuster who said I was also allowed to go on my own to get a "second opinion". I tried a few places but then a friend of mine said that she really trusted Bond's Automotive. When Bond 's automotive checked it out, they found three things that my insurance adjuster missed; one of which might have caused major damage later. This could have left me potentially stranded in the middle of nowhere. I travel a lot alone with my young daughter to out of the way places and am very careful about how my car is running. The insurance adjuster even commented about how thorough Bond's automotive was and, of course, paid them for my car to be fixed. Over the next several years I have convinced my husband to take his car there and he was also happy with his experiences there. We're on a tight budget, so they let me know when something absolutely needs to be fixed and how long it might be until I need other things tuned up or fixed. This allows me to prepare budget wise and still keep my car safe and working well. I HIGHLY recommend going there. I have found their prices reasonable and their work excellent! Furthermore, my car is always done in a timely manner and I get phone calls if more work needs to be done or they find something! Thank you Bond's Automotive!!!!!

Bond's Automotive is a rip off

by paulie q.

I can not believe the poor service from this place. I would not take a dead battery there when they charge you well over 125.00 for a battery, and then they charge almost 100.00 per hour on labor. I feel ripped off with lack of service and poor communication. Should have read all the reviews.

Bad Bad Bad

by penelope m.

What a terrible day at Bond's. They are in a rut of some kind, all of there good mechanics quit. There are a lot of empty stalls and work is now very very slow. The prices have gone up and the quality has gone down again. I think they are in a downward spiral for some reason. I am shocked at the poor service and high prices they now charge. It took them 2 weeks to get my car back to me. I just kept hearing no parts for your Toyota. Don't go I won't ever again

Thank goodness for kind people like the Bonds

by L g.

Wow, I still can not believe what a great experience I had at Bond's. I was recommended to go there by a neighbor friend of mine. I have a new Lexus and had always gone to the dealer. I thought you had too, boy was I wrong. My brakes were speaking and I felt the wheel move on the freeway. I took it to the Lexus dealer and they told me I needed new brakes all around. Scary and expensive. I told them I was going to talk to my husband and bring it back the next day. I was telling my neighbor about this and he told me go to Bond's, only go to Bonds. Mike has been running this shop for over 15 yr and he is a master tech or something like that. So, I made an appointment and took my car in to Bonds. I LOVE THEM!!!! I did not need new brakes, it was a easy fix that he did not even charge me for! They changed my oil, topped off all my fluids and saved me 100's of dollars. Where has this place been??? I am so lucky to have found one of the last honest places in town. I don't ever write reviews but this was by far the best experience I have ever had ever dealing with my car. I am a loyal customer of Bond's and am telling all of my friends, new cars and old. Mariam V.

Great Customer Service and Fair Prices!!!!!!!

by Jeff W.

I recently took my vehicle in to Bond's Automotive to get some scheduled maintenance done. The customer service was exceptional. I did not feel like I was being pressured into doing any of the repairs and I was also made aware of other problems that might need to be fixed in the future. On top of the great customer service I received, the price was nothing but fair and I truly feel I got the best bang for my buck. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for a fair, honest place to get repair work done.

WOW HAS THIS PLACE HAS GONE DOWN HILL !!!!HORRIBLE!!!!!!

by DAVID J.

I have not gone to Bond's in a long time, I had bought a new car. Recently my warranty had expired and I returned for some maintenance, I was shocked at the rude people in the office. Years ago they did not try to over sell you on every little thing, but I guess times and people change. I will have to say I will not return for another payment to their retirement plan. I truly wish I had something nice to say but there was not anything nice about my experience.

Office crew created worst experience ever.

by Paula L.

Owner and son very rude. I could not believe that it was the owner and not a disgruntled employee. The way they were talking in the office stunk to customers and there employees. The prices were alright and if you are in to a little verbal abuse go ahead and go on in. In the office the only nice one was Tim Hoffman, he had a nice smile and a pleasant attitude. Unfortunately Tim did not help me to bad for me!!!

To busy in the office lady behind the counter very rude

by Jack J.

I recently stopped by Bond Auto to have my car repaired and I was ignored by the rude office staff. I left my car and they never called to tell me what was wrong. They said it would be done by 5pm when I arrived they had not even started it. The blame was put on the mechanics but the paper work was still in the office. They are very unorganized and rude. I think they forgot about my car and then blamed it on the technicians to not make me think they are stupid. I would not go back even for free repair to get treated like that.

Honest & Reliable!

by Tracy A.

I highly recommend Bond's Automotive. They know what they are doing and are very honest. I just took my Toyota Corolla into their shop because it would not start. They informed me that my car's computer was not working and therefore could not pass the message to get gas to the fuel pump, among other things. The owner Mike Bond then looked up my vin# and found that this particular part had an extended warranty through the Toyota dealership. The warranty covered everything! Even the towing bill! They referred me to the nearest Toyota dealership instead of charging me to do the work themselves. If these guys were not honest, I would have been out over a thousand dollars! Instead, it is all taken care of on Toyota's dime! I am a woman who knows very little about the mechanics of an engine and would have made an easy target. I really appreciate & highly recommend Bond's Automotive.

Bonds are OK, Nutin Special - Not bad either

by William N.

I supposed they are good, but its ok ! nutin special, not bad either. they just repaired my power steering hose, was originally estimated cost 900 at the other Auto service, and i called bonds they said they can fix it for 600, then i drove my car there and it cost me 780. I was expecting to save 300, but it didnt happen. And i had my engine light on when i turn the car in and when i pick it up, it still on, they dont even do effor to see whats happening with it, all they do just repaired the service that i paid for. Oh well, auto service are the same everywhere, they like to make money. I supposed Bonds not that bad, tho i am sure they wont fix ur car if they dont make money of it. Just dont forget to save money for auto service expenses :) merry christmas !

a woman is the best judge of a mechanic.....

by Dyan S.

If a woman trusts a mechanic you know that's the place to go. I've been going to Bond's for years now and I'm always well taken care of. I know I can trust in their expertise and that I won't be ripped off. Scott is Dr. Toyota. He does the job right in less time. I took my car in thinking I had a minor leak, but it's an 11 year old car and it had normal old seals that needed replacing. It was a mess - they showed me. They fixed it - right - and the thing runs like a bullet! If my little convertible Celica could talk, it would have told me today how good it feels and it just wanted to go out and play (in traffic). Thanks Mike - and Scott! This is the place!

great...

by hedi p.

About a year ago my car had an oil leak . A very well known garage was not able to fix it for me because I have a 1987 Honda(an old and foreign car),they recommended Bond's automotive. Michael was very helpful and changed the oil gasket ,did a few other things that needed to be fixed and ,as the previous reviewer said, came up with a price lower than he first quoted me.I never had a problem again with an oil leak. As anyone would know with an old car things just deteriorate here and there. This week I had a problem with my brake lights. They would not turn off and was draining my car battery. I called at 7 am this morning and Michael was already at work,he said to come in but that they were going to be very busy . But as soon as I got in he figured out right away where the problem was(the brake light switch was worn out). He ordered the new part I needed and I got my car back this afternoon .And he charged me less than he first quoted again. Thank you Michael,I know I can trust my car in your hands.

Bond's = Awesome!

by Andrew P.

My wife and I have been going to Bond's for the last 8 years or so. Their service is absolutely the best I have ever encountered. Mike is friendly, knowledgable, and is also very good at explaining complex automotive issues to the non-mechanically inclined. His staff is also very professional. I have never had to bring any of my vehicles (4 different vehicles over the last 8+ years) back to his shop after a repair.

They always use genuine manufacturer parts whenever possible. Their prices are very reasonable. Often the final price turns out to be lower than the original estimate because Mike found a way to reduce the cost for me. They are able to handle most any mechanical issue as they have a large garage and diverse array of staff and equipment. This business has grown quite a bit from when I first found out about them. They used to be in a small, cramped converted gas station in La Mesa. Now they have a much larger facility on El Cajon Blvd. This growth is a sign of their success brought about by their consistent ability to please their customers.

PROS: Best service in town.
CONS: Garage is very busy so sometimes you need to make an appointment.

If you think your mechanic is charging you too much...You are probably right!

by Paula C. | insider Insider | Rank: 18,118

I first went to Bond's Automotive because I was referred to it by my Mom. I usually don't like dealing with things relating to cars, because when I think something is wrong with my car, it turns out that five more things are wrong with my car.

At Bond's Automotive you are going to find a group of people that are highly skilled, and highly capable of fixing anything with your car...and even if they find those five more things wrong with your car, you will never feel pressured to buy into those extra things. I always feel comfortable taking my car to Bond's. I know that what needs to be done gets done, and they will suggest things that need to be repaired in the future...But without pressure!
