Da Kine's  5 Star Rating - World class

By Jenny M. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,207

I think of all Hawaiian restaurants in National City, Da Kine's is my favorite. Taste-wise, everything is just better. Also, I don't like macaroni salad, so I liked that they gave you the option to get salad instead.

Da Kine's was awesome.  5 Star Rating - World class

By Jan L. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,549

I absolutely loved Da Kine's when it opened. It was like a delicacy to have spam musubis when I was a kid. I loved the decor and how involved they were with the community. I always picked Da Kine's over L&L's ANY day.

Da Kine's Plate Lunches is Gone..sad face  4 Star Rating - Very good

By Mark G. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,281

This place is gone and it makes me very sad. Like the previous review, this place had some good teriyaki chicken. They also had these daily deals that were really good. My favorite one was the Wednesday special which was turkey with gravy served with rice. Too bad this place is gone. I liked it better than L&L because there wasn't any MSG!!!

not too bad  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

By patrick p. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 461

the best part about this place was the chicken teriyaki. as far as the other dishes, it doesnt really stack up to the LnL variety or Ohana's. The food is decent nonetheless and if you want some quick hawaiin food, this is the spot to be unless the aformentioned places are closer?
