.

I went to BCM to get a stereo installed in an old truck I have. I just finished installing a stereo myself and didn't want it stolen, was going out of town taking the truck, pressed for time and figured I'd have them do it. Mistake. When they ran the wiring to the doors for the solenoids instead of enlarging the holes I made they drilled new ones but in places they couldn't pass the wire through. (!) They removed the rubber grommets I installed to keep the wiring from chafing against the metal and didn't replace them. They didn't even de-burr the holes. In two days time the wiring was already cut most of the way through the insullation. Had it shorted it would've damaged my new speakers. When they installed the solenoids in the doors for the locks they only used one of the two mounting holes so the locks only worked some of the time. (too much movement) They also mounted the solenoids where the windows hit them when rolled down. The also carved 2x3" holes in my doors that weren't required to attach the locking rods. (the rods could be moved more readily than cutting, why the holes were cut is beyond me.) When I pointed this out to the owner he said the soonest he could get to it was in a week. (my vacation time) He didn't seemed too concerned. I spent half a day undoing their hatchet work and correcting it. Unfortunately the extra 'metal work' they did can't be undone without a welder. Perhaps I didn't look like a 'heavy hitter' type of customer. Maybe that influenced his decision not to correct their poor workmanship. Perhaps all they can work on is new cars where it's a 'plug and play' install with pre-supplied wiring harnesses and colourful instructions. I didn't find the worst of the damage until I removed door panels. There's no way their work would've lasted any significant length of time. Bottom line? The bureau of automotive repair is my next stop. Take your business somewhere else.
