5 Stars: Simply the Best (by N R.)

When I worked in Oakland, this was a favorite place to eat lunch or meet up with friends for dinner after work.

The food is so fresh and tasty, the portions generous, and the service friendly. I've had tried a variety of items...everything from their spring rolls to their pho to their eggplant tofu dishes. All are wonderful. On top of this, they are so reasonably priced, it's amazing.

The place is neat, clean, and casual. Nothing too fancy. The lunch hour can be hectic and you may have to wait outside but it's so worth it. They are suitably located near BART.

PROS: Price, location
CONS:

5 Stars: Excellent Vietnamese Food (by Doug S.)

I can't say enough about this Pho 84. With a name like Pho 84 - you have to be good! Its not just another Vietnamese noodle place, although they do a great Pho Ga.

Seriously, this place has earned my highest rating strictly because of the quality of the food. I recommend the Clay Pot or any of their specials which rotate - different special each day of the week. I had the Fish Filet last time, and it was delicious!

The ambience is kind of low-key, nothing fancy. The prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious.

It's located on a shady side street in Downtown Oakland (17th St.) near Franklin St., which makes it easy to get to from either downtown Bart Station.

PROS: Delicous food
CONS: none, unless you require table cloths
