ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!

by Judy B.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! I love my car that I purchased in Northern California where I always received great service. I move to North Hollywood and take my car in to Toyota NH and cound not believe how awful the services was. I had to beg for them to wash my car and this is a service that they offer to customers. When I got my car back it looked like it was washed with dirty water and on top of that everyone was rude. Even when I spoke to the supervisor about my concerns nothing seemed to changed. I'm so surprised and will NEVER GO BACK TO THIS LOCATION. I'll drive downtown to that Toyota location before I ever step foot in the NH location!!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, WORST SALES PEOPLE, WORST MANAGER, DO NOT RECOMMEND

by Erica Z.

I went to this dealership and purchased my car. They promised me to have the car detailed. I bring the car back to have it detailed and it comes back with 50 extra miles and overspray paint ALL OVER THE CAR. I bring it back and every single sexist person working there thinks I'm just a stupid girl and doesn't know what's going on. They don't listen to me when I tell them there's paint on my car and they turn me away. I finally bring my bf back and of course, they listen to him. They spend an entire day trying to buff it ouf. Comes back to me with paint still on it. After all this, and talking to about 15 different people including the customer relations manager, they do nothing. So I speak with the Sales MANAGER Chris Darby and he tells me I'm a liar and that the paint was already on the car when I bought it. BECAUSE OF THIS HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, I WILL NEVER EVER OWN A TOYOTA AGAIN. I DON'T CARE IF IT'S A TOYOTA, SCION, DON'T CARE. I DON'T CARE IF THEY'RE RELIABLE, THEY DO NOT DESERVE MY BUSINESS AFTER HAVING TREATED A CUSTOMER LIKE THIS. I used to love Toyota, but after this, I will never recommend them to anyone.

No More, Thank You

I've been to this body shop 3 times now. First time, it went Ok to Well. 2nd time was horrific. Representative was extremely defensive and difficult to work and talk to. Finally i was resorted to asking for a superior. Things went a little more smoothly then. However overall visit, left a fairly "eh" feeling. Final and last visit i will ever have with Toyota of North Hollywood Body Shop, was the worst. Took a total of 8 days. Delays, delays, and more delays. I can understand delays happen, but i need to be informed instead of me calling and getting disappointed every expected completion time. Go else where, where there is ACTUAL customer service.

not a good place to buy a car

by Rosalie B. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 903

we bought our new sienna from toyota of n. hollwood and when we noticed a small cut in the headliner we were accused of doing it ourselves and were even told that maybe it was the wifes diamond ring that did it. i don't wear a diamond ring!!! they refused to repair or replace the headliner. this dealership is as nasty and shady as they come.

CONS: dishonest dealership

Real Pros

by D. R. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,495

We've had our two Toyotas regularly serviced here over the past 8 years. The have an outstanding team of service reps who are extremely courteous, professional and well-informed. They offer a free shuttle service to take you to work or home in the area while your car is being worked on. I often feel I'm being ripped off when I go to a mechanic, but I never get any pressure to get additional work done. They've very understanding of your budget and are honest as to the severity of any recommended fixes.

PROS: Trusted work, excellent customer service
CONS: It's a dealership so prices are as expensive as you'd expect

Body shop is pretty good

by j h. | insider Insider | Rank: 13,068

I went here to fix my windshield. They work with the major insurance companies and fixed it within a day. Also have complimentary shuttle service to close areas while your car is being serviced, although if it's too far they won't pick you up. Courteous sales staff.

PROS: Insurance companies, 'toyota brand name', shuttle service
CONS: location

The service technicians are very careless and dont give importance to what the customer says. Its very expensive to buy parts here. I was charged $25 for an original key to my toyota camry. I got the key in Northridge for $10.More over, they were runninga promotion to get 2 movie tickets with $25 purchase....They did not give it up until I asked for it.

I bought my 4runner from this place. I love my car but their service is not the greatest. I went in to buy a light bulb for my backlight because it was out and I had told the customer service what car I had and which backlight it was for. She gave me this light buld and I paid for it. Before I walked out of the store I double checked with her to make sure it was right because I did not want to come back. So I left the store went home and tried to fix my light. Sure enought it was wrong. I was so mad I had to drive all the way back. When I got back there I told her how upset I was an how unconvenient it was for me to come back since I had double checked with her. All she did was apologize and have someone install the light bulb for me. I think that they should have done more. I do not recommend this place for getting parts since their people aren't knowledgeable

Not Impressed

by SimonisHere

Took my old Explore for Cash for Clunker deal to get myself something small and fuel efficient. Somehow, they made it look like I was getting 4500 discount from the dealers and that is it. when that was clearing coming from the government. I had to make sure they give me 4500 credit on top of the deal I was about to make. Well.. I didn't buy my car there. So shady sales and finance people there.

Very Bad Dishonest Push Sales People

by Haydennnn

I was looking for a used Prius couple weeks ago and dropped by the Toyota N Hollywood to check one out. They did have the exact color and model I was looking for. However... that's the only good part. Once I started the negotiating process, it got worth and worth.

First, they not only tried to offer me some ridiculously low trade in value, they tried sell me all sorts of non-sense services to me including extra warranty that cost way too much and GAP insurance which I do not need at all. I did my research and know what I need and what they were, but they tried to talk to me like I had no idea what I am talking about. They were very push as well. They almost made me sign a contract without letting me know what exactly it is. Good thing I pointed it out beforehand.. I was so fed up, I simply walked out. Her name was Tina.

Definitely one of the worst experience I've had. I ended up buying my Prius at Pasadena Toyota where I was treated properly. Unless you are ready to be hassled and harassed, Do not buy your car from Toyota North Hollywood.

Pros: Is there one?

Cons: No Business Ethics

Worst Stealership EVER! They will SCAM you BIG TIME!

by AaronJ

Just like many dealerships around town, they will scam UNEDUCATED buyers big time. Saleswoman, TINA, is a conning, dishonest saleswoman with questionable business ethics.

My friend has purchased two cars from this dealership... then I saw the contracts way~ after. Unfortunately, my friend was not an educated buyer and went to the dealership with no research of any kind what-so-ever. My friend is also not so good with cars nor negotiating. Perfect bait for all the conning car sales men/women out there.

I won't go into all the details.. just a hint of what you can expect from TINA or other DIRTY sales force there.. because it makes me sick to my stomach.. but it seems they are notorious for selling USELESS Warranty for a lot of money. 2008 Rav4 bought in 2008 with about 12000 miles... This car had all the factory warranty that is still valid not to mention Certified warranty provided by Toyota... then WHY would this car need another extra warranty for 84 month /100,000 miles for $2500?????? Yes.. like mentioned before, my friend was stupid.. but Com'on! You cannot just take advantage of your unsuspecting customer!!! Where is your INTEGRITY? HONEST BUSINESS ETHICS????

Fortunately.. if you are reading these reviews, chances are you will be educated enough not to make any stupid decisions, but please do my friend a favor and take your business to other Toyota dealership with some integrity. Please...

Pros: Absolutely Zero

Cons: Very Dishonest Business Practice

What a good day.

by AlanStone

I went in to check what price I can get on a FJ Cruiser on the No. Hollywood lot. A sales man (Michael Gagne) showed up in about three minutes. SO FAR SO GOOD. After a short greeting , Michael asked if i would LIKE some help. I said I did. NOW HERE I WILL TELL YOU THAT I AM A MECHANIC OF 20 YEARS. I'll KEEP THIS SHORT . After the usual questions , hp, colors and price I asked about the options. All that I wanted was available and he didn" have to leave me to go ask someone else. I also asked him questions I knew the answers to. Like how is the ride? (no drive test yet) He looked at me and said. "Not as good as you might hope. iF YOUR LOOKING FOR A BETTER RIDE THEN YOU SHOULD CONSIDER A 4-Runner for a smother ride". I have to say, that was some honesty I didn't expect. Michael answered all my questions and that was a refeshing experiances. I'll be back to the No. Hollywood Toyota to get my FJ but only on the days Michael works.

I hate buying cars. I told Michael Gagne, I want this, this, and this. He found me a car with exactly what I wanted without the attitude I've come to dread in sales people. It was an easy, no hassle sale. Thank you Michael for changing the face of car sales. When it's time I'll be back and recommend you to friends and family.

The way to buy a car

by dmerida

Buying a car had always been a very scary experience, specially being a single woman, but after meeting the North Hollywood sales team I got to say it has totally change my view of car salesman. Michael Gagne was a pleasure to deal with. He was very respectful and did not treated me like an ignorant, like most car guys had done in the past. He was very patient and thorough explaining the benefits of the Hybrid. He worked out an awesome deal and took me to the loan department where I met with Victor Cornelio, another asset in your company. He explained the different packages so I would be fully protected with my new purchase. I am extremely satisfied specially because all my friends luv my car and I know I got an awesome deal, Thanks to Mike G. & Victor C.

Best experience with Michael Gagne

by aldiaz09

I went to North Hollywood Toyota after searching several different dealerships, not only for a good deal, but to find a car salesman that didn't make me feel like I was being taken advantage of. With the economy the way it is lately, I've gotten the feeling like most salesman were really trying to con one over on me to make their money. I was pleasantly surprised when I finally arrived at North Hollywood Toyota and met Michael Gagne. Not only was he courteous and professional, but I had all of my questions answered and the process of buying a car explained to me so that I knew I was getting a great deal. I will recommend North Hollywood Toyota to all of my friends and family.

Pros: left feeling like i made a good decision

Cons: dealership kind of far

i've heard so much about North Hollywood Toyota so I decided to finally go check it out for myself. As soon as I arrived, i didnt feel "pressured" by any of the salesmen. One by the name of Michael Gagne helped me out and addressed all of my questions and concerns about purchasing a new vehicle. Needless to say I am very satisfied with the way I was treated as soon as I stepped foot there to the minute I left. I highly recommend Noth Hollywood Toyota to all my friends and family.

an awesome team!!!

by coryperez

Ive been to many dealerships throughout my life with my parents. i always saw how much they hated being practically harassed once they stepped foot onto the dealership premises. now that i have grown up and don't depend on daddy and mommy any more it was time to purchase a car of my won. i was scared of getting ripped off because i was going to be a first time buyer and don't really know much about buying a car, basically i know nothing of cars. thankfully i got an awesome sales person by the name of Michale Gagne, who made me very comfortable with the whole purchasing experience. when i walked in to the dealership i wasn't sure what kind of car i was looking for.. i explained to Michael my needs for a new car and he suggested i looked at the Camry's.as soon as we test drove the car i fell in love with it. he explained everything i needed to know about it. finally i was ready to work numbers with him which was the scariest part because i wanted to get a great deal. we finally worked out a great deal and he took me into finance which i then meet with Victor Cornelio who finished my paper work. he was also very helpful he explained my contract very thoroughly so that i wouldnt have any kinds of doubt of my decision. i was very pleased with everything. over all i had a great experience at North Hollywood Toyota. i would definitely recommend this dealership to all my friends and family.

RUN THE OTHER WAY!

by marissaz

LIARS, SCAMMERS, SNEAKS
this place is the worst, they admittedly stated that they use fradulent procedure to sell cars!
We took them to court and won.

Awful 2 and a half year wait, they stretched the whole process out, and were sued for more money

This place is REALLY BAD!!! seriously do research

Pros: location

Cons: They will rip you off, and will later admit it and laugh

Must be very firm and attentive

by post4card

I went through my bank to get a fixed price. I got a great deal on a new ToyotaTundra, however, even though the price was fixed the salespeople made "mistakes" regarding the amount of the rebate. If I had not been ornery and asked to look at everything before it was passed on I probably would not have received the rebate at all because it was for a different model. When you walk in set your watch or cell phone for 30 minutes after you begin negotiations, let the salesperson know, and walk out if the alarm goes off. Also do your research before going in and be firm, otherwise they'll try to push you around. I took my girlfriend on the first day, but they didn't have the model that I requested so I made them pay for my gas on the second trip out. I took my father on the second day and he was more ornery than me! Take a buddy there as support and a sounding board. If it doesn't feel right back off, read all the fine print, and take your time. You're doing them a favor by frequenting their business. Treat all the sales staff as your enemies, do your research, be firm and attentive, laugh at the situation you're in, and walk out if you don't like them, otherwise it probably will not be a pleasant experience. After the purchase though the staff has been more than helpful aswering my questions and staying in contact with me which gives this establishment at best an average.

Pros: Toyota motor corporation product

Cons: Parking, Must be firm and attentive

Like being interrogated by the FBI.

by 7BigRed7

The staff at Toyota of North Hollywood isn't any different from any other dealer. The bottom line is that they are all trying to get paid and that's all they're interested in. They say they want to give you a good deal but the truth is they keep you there and wear you down until you believe you got a good deal. I recently bought a Corolla from them. I traded in my 2006 Tacoma which they said they would pay off the balance on. After a long time "negotiating" a price I was so tired I might have signed anything. I thought the price was high for a Corolla but I signed the contract anyway. When I took time to look at the contract the next day I realized why it was so high. They had added part of the balance of the Tacoma to my contract. I felt sick to my stomach when I saw that. Not only am I paying for the car but also some of the truck as well. To anybody buying a car make sure you check every little detail before signing anything. These guys are tricky but it's legal so be careful. And remember, if you feel pressured just get up and leave. Don't let them wear you down like I did. Buying a car shouldn't feel like an interrogation.

Pros: Toyotas are generally good cars.

Cons: Too bad you have to deal with crooks to buy one.

Be very, very careful if you buy a used car here.

by Ilovemygirls

I have bought several cars from the used car divison of North Hollywood Toyota. The last purchase has been a nightmare and I have lost all trust., because I truly feel that they will do anything to sell a car, including dishonesty. First of all, I learned a valuable lesson. After listening to how perfect this car that we liked was and how it had absolutely nothing wrong with it, the salesmen asked my daughter and I to "have some coffee and wait right here inside the building so you'll be comfortable" while they went out back and started it to bring around for us to test drive. Big mistake for us to have allowed that. When I started it cold the next day after I bought it, it blew an enormous cloud of smoke - still does. II can't tell you how stupid I feel. They intentionally hid that problem from me because, of course, I would not have purchased the car if I had seen it. 12 months later, a new $4,000.00 transmission. I still have 2 and a half years of payments. They realized that I trusted them, and they certainly got the last laugh on me.

Pros: Toyotas cannot be beat.

Cons: Careful if you buy one here.

VULTURES

by heresmy2cents

This place is what I call your typical, low rent, minimum wage attitude dealership who only cares about sealing a deal. Period. Forget customer service, forget manners, forget being on time, forget calling you back, forget YOU. After you buy a car from them. YOU are no longer important, and neither is that car they so pressured you to buy.

They kept me waiting for hours to "see" if they had a specific color in stock, only to find out they were simply trying to "wear" me out just so I would cave in and buy the one they had on the lot. They switched me around from salesman to salesman: One guy couldn't make me buy it, so they sent me to the next "level" of salesman. That guy couldn't seal the deal, so then I was transfered over to Level III salesman, the more "experienced" salesman, I suppose? You see, they start you off with trainee sales guys who know little about selling cars and if you don't bite then they get "serious".

Once you are sick and tired and talking to the entire staff (their "Wear You Out" tactic), they close in on you like vultures. At this point, you are hungry, strung out on cheap coffee and have 5 pens in front of you.

After you finally buy the car and color you wanted, the car takes 1 month longer to arrive than the estimated 10 days they promised you, and your salesman is no where to be reached or found. He probably quit at this point, and the front desk receptionist (between her gum smacking and accent reminiscent of "Boulevard Nights") will dismissively tell you he's "out to lunch".

Getting your car serviced here is yet another nightmare, but all things above apply to this sector as well. Toyota of North Hollywood needs a MAJOR OVERHAUL, like of it's staff.

There is no accountability for anyone or anything here. The whole staff stinks to the core.

Pros: They have Toyotas

Cons: Rude, low rent staff, only care about your $$$.

HORRIBLE. The most horrible most uncaring people in the world.

by sunsyn1

These are the most horrible people in the world. They are astonishingly cruel and don't care about the customer at all. They only car about making a buck. They treated me so horribly that I still cry. I was in tears when I left and they don't care. They have the audacity to still send me stuff in the mail when I have asked them not to because of the traumatic experience I had. Traumatic experience. When I spoke to the owner Chris Ashworth (more like A** worthless) he was condescending and wouldn't appologize. He just kept saying what a great deal it was. It's not about the car. It's about the experience and I was emotionally RAPED at North Hollywood Toyota. It is just as traumatic as being physically beaten except that bruises go away. Yet they take no responsibility for their actions because they ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY AND NOT THE CUSTOMER. Do not see Ryan. He is the offender. Ryan will berate you and try to make you feel stupid. Everytime you say that you don't want to do this, he will argue with you and tell you that you are being stupid or that your old car is dangerous. And whatever you do, do not give them the keys to your old car so they can "take a look at it". You will never get them back. They will hold them and not let you leave untill you sign what ever papers they have put infront of you. Even if they have to fill out the rest of the paperwork themselves. They rest of the paperwork that you as the customer are supposed to fill out. They will do whatever they have to to sell a car even if it means raping someone. don't let it happen to you!!!!!!!

Pros: non

Cons: they will take advantage of any situation. Horrible people
