I am a physician with a busy schedule. This gym wasted my time for a whole year. No-one is ever there, instructors don't show up to classes and the girls who work there are stuck on themselves instead of helping the patrons. I cancelled my membership finally, but now I am being harrassed by their billing agency, ABC Financial. They are thieves and should not be in business. I have a lot more negative, but that's the gist of it all.
This place is the worst. The management is uncaring. Once they sign you up for a long term deal, you are useless to them and they ignore suggestions, complaints, questions, etc. In 2002 many members complained constantly of a raw sewage smell from the shower area of the men's locker room. After hearing this for months, I approached management about it. They ignored me, stating that "Corporate is looking into it." Weeks went by. Nothing happened. So I began placing notes in the Member Suggestion Box with my return e-mail address and phone number. Weeks went by. Nothing happened. After 16 straight unanswered notes, I started placing profane messages in the Suggestion Box to see if that would at least invoke a reply. Silence from Bodies ! Eventually I called the Health Dept. who set an appointment to investigate. Bodies learned of the visit by the Health Inspector, and rushed over a crew in the middle of the night to "flush" the system. It worked for a time, but the offensive odor came back. I quit the gym shortly thereafter. Later, a former manager there laughed and told me that suggestions simply get filed in the waste basket regularly. It's just a ruse. This is unfortunately typical of Bodies. It's from the top down. Another former trainer from there told me that he had 14 General Manager at the Encino branch in 12 months. 14 !!! Now that's turnover, and that's bad management. Run from this place. They are horrible.
CONS: Everthing else.

Before this gym got a new owner, it was loud, fun and motivating. Now its depressing, empty, and has the worst service I have ever seen. The employees are so preoccupied with chatting that they barely pay attention to any of your needs. Public bathroom and showers were disgusting. There are plenty of nicer gyms around like 24 hr fitness. I have now left them and joined Total Woman
The classes here are the best! It's important for me to always be challenged and I love the variety of classes. The gym is clean and I never have to wait for a machine. Really great people and fun atmosphere. No posers, here. Very cool, nice staff and clientele.
Pros: Great Classes, Fun staff!
Even when I don?t feel like going to the gym, as soon as I walk in the door at Bodies in Motion, I?m greeted by name and a smile, well, it makes me feel really special. All of the staff know me and they want me there. The General Manager, Danny, is such an angel. He makes me feel like I?m with friends that care about me. It really makes a big difference and that's why I like going!!!
Pros: This place is really friendly and EVERYONE loves it!
Cons: None that I've seen.
The managers at this gym are pretentious and unfriendly. The classes (i.e. yoga, pilates, boxing) have good instructors, although the room is too cold. The area for machine and free weights is too close together so it is cramped. Bodies in Motion is not worth the money!
Pros: Good class instructor, Clean facilities
Cons: Unfriendly staff, Overpriced, Cramped weight area
Great People, Great Workout, Great Gym!!! The facility is clean, organized, and very professional. I recommend this gym to everyone who is looking for a great workout.
I was oringinally turned on to Bodies in Motion by my roomate. He's actually a personal trainer there. I like this gym becuase its convenient to my location and the trainers are very knowledgable. The trainer's took the time to give me the tour through their Jungle or work out equipment. The atmosphere overall is very energetic, so on that note, put on your sweats and get to work!
Mikee Is the Best Boxing Instructor. Matt Is the best Personal Trainer. Marquis is always helpful. The gym is always sparkling.
