The mark of any business is how they stand behind their product. Palo Alto Bicycles does that and more. I bought a new bike from them in February. I was told that any new bike would need some fine tuning and that I was to bring the bike back when the need arose. After a few rides, I brought the bike in and the service dept made a few minor adjustments. These gals and guys are very helpful and gave me tips on taking care of my new bike. I really appreciated their responses, even when I asked lots of simple questions.
After owning the bike for about six months, and riding the bike about 1500 miles, small mechanical problems began to pop up. I brought the bike back to the shop several times. The service dept fixed one problem, then another came up. I thought that I had got a lemon bike.
Now, here is when the manager really stepped up. Iwas frustrated and I was leaving town to take a bike vacation and needed a reliable bike. I did not feel comfortable with my bike. One problem after another. The manager gave me another bike to use on my bike vacation. The bike he lent me was a top of the line elite racing bike that made me feel like Lance. He even promised to give me a brand new upgraded bike if they could not fix my bike. This is great customer service.
