Animal Clinic-Desert Hot Spgs

I have used ACDHS for many years and I think the world of Dr Madsen along with Teresa, Joyce and Ginger who are kind and compassionate at every turn . Dr Madsen has always supported my personal choices in caring for my pets, even if they are not always conventional or mainstream, he is always open minded and supportive. I have also had several opportunities to have my pets treated by Dr Bottom, and I find his dry humor and honesty wonderfully distracting when I'm deeply worried about my pet.

Recently Dr Bottom treated my little girl with emergency surgery, without an appointment, and saved her life, twice, along with some other lives.
I am forever grateful that we have this wonderful clinic and these caring people in our desert.

One small side comment that has NOTHING to do with the tremendous quality of care of this clinic: I noticed you have a link to the Humane Society Of The United States. I would ask that you reconsider this link as the money they take in from honest donations does not go to help animals despite their claims and certainly does not help any of our local desert animal needs.

One more thing I need to mention..... Dr Madsen has ALWAYS had reasonable prices for his services. Most vets in the desert charge double and even triple for the same services. Dr Madsen also has never tried to upsell me anything or give my pets anything they really didn't need, like expensive or trendy vaccines for diseases that don't even exist in our desert.

I HIGHLY recommend Animal Clinic Of Desert Hot Springs for supeior and benevolent pet care.
Dr Madsen and his staff truly live by the veterinary
credo, "First, Do No Harm".

I will no longer be a client of Dr. Madsen when he is supporting hate. How can you love animals and protect them but not do the same for their animal clients Moms & Dads.

Dr. Madsen has been seeing our animals for over 17 years. He is the most wonderful vet we've ever had. The problem is that we have been rescuing dogs and cats for many years and have often had to pay the bill in parts, usually half on the appt. and half on the next payday. They recently informed us that we now have to pay the entire bill at the appointment and their prices have gone sky high. We've had two incidents that we've actually treated ourselves because they wanted over $400 to stitch an ear of our shepherd mix so we took her home and taped it closed. Not good, it could have become infected, but we didn't have $400. So while we still love the doctor, we are a little unhappy with his new pricing practices. He'd have gotten 5 stars but for the billing issues.

PROS: Wonderful Vet
CONS: Unfair billing practices with old clients who always pay their bills

Dr. Madsen was recommended to me by another friend of mine. She couldn't have been more correct in recommending him to us. The entire clinic is super friendly, but it's Dr. Madsen's way with the animals that sets him apart from other vets. The support that he and his staffed showed me throughout the horrific ordeal of having to put my dog to sleep will always be immensely appreciated. It is obvious that he truly loves all creatures. After one visit, I'm sure you will agree.
