Butcher Shop Steak House

This is a neat, older place with fabulous steaks. The decor is a little dated, but it adds to the ambience and feel of the place. The food and service were both very good. Recommended!

If you like to feel like to stepped back in time and want great steak, this is your place. I love the red seating and the dark decor. It feels like a time warp. The steaks are incredible and so are the deserts!

I have eaten at the Butcher shop multiple times for lunch and dinner. I think the ambiance and the food are definitely in the 4 star and 5 star range. The service could be better. The staff looks like they are going to crack if they smile. They do not know how to truly take care of the customer. I only have had one person, a blonde who works the bar area at lunch who seems to know how to really treat the customer. I wish she could work the dinner shift and everything would be perfect. She knows how to up sell, she seems to know when to check on us. Everyone else looks as if we are bothering them. I Have to ask them what they have instead of other way around.

I've been here a few times, and the steaks are excellent. My favorite is the Prime Rib... it melts in your mouth and is the best prime rib I've had in San Diego by far.

The prices are consistent with other steak houses in the area.

The atmosphere is that of an old time saloon.
