Dr. Reid is amazing!  5 Star Rating - World class

I'm shocked by the negative reviews. I have found the CVC to be friendly and willing to accommodate the need for quick appointments or changes in my schedule. Dr. Reid is kind and very attuned to cats-- which I have found to be rare, as many vets seem to cater to dogs only. The most important thing, though, is that any time I've needed advice, it has been given to me over the phone--quickly and free of charge! They even came up with a personalized diet plan for my cat based on food I chose, not food they tried to sell me. And when I was concerned about possible side effects of medication, Dr. Yen called me within 5 minutes of my call and immediately wrote a new prescription, after discussing the pros and cons of various meds. Dr. Reid is willing to answer any question I might have no matter how off topic (I have a real interest in animal behavior), and she never makes me feel rushed. What is more, the staff has been nothing but kind... plus, they have parking!!

Overpriced, poor service  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

If you want to pay more for veterinary services and be treated badly, then go here. They don't care if you are a client or not, just want to make a buck. The receptionist was rude and did not try out the problem I was having. Not a good place...

Poor service  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

We have been clients at Campus Vet for several years, always paying on time and being charged more, IMO, than what the service has been worth. We have been going for convenience reasons mostly as it's nearby. I called to get a microchip put in our cat, and was told besides the $60 fee for that, I would need to schedule a regular check up since our cat has not been in for 8 months and pay extra for the checkup! When I said that I could get it done on Saturday at a pet clinic for $40, the receptionist said, "Fine.". ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? I called Dr. Four Paws and he will take me today for $40 with no new client fees! Guess we have a new vet!

wonderful clinic  5 Star Rating - World class

Wow. Some of the negative reviews made me feel obligated to jump in and say a few words. Veterinary care costs money, by now all of us know that, but when that care saves your pet's life you know who the good vets are and this clinic is fantastic. Dr. Reid saved my cat's life when two other local vets said she wouldn't have a chance. I got updates, information and comfort throughout the day while my cat was hospitalized. This vet is good and she cares, and if you haven't noticed this then I wonder who YOU are and what type of client YOU are. I am a small business owner and am forever amazed at how critical people are when in fact it is they who are difficult to deal with. That being said, I give these people 5 stars; from the cute girl at the front desk, to the nurses, to the vets...they have been wonderful.

Dr Reid is GREAT  5 Star Rating - World class

Dr Reid is an excellent vet and a caring person. We have extensive experience with her caring for our sick dog. I would recommend her to anyone, especially dog lovers.

they are simply horrible  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Keep your pets out of these unprofessional people. You pet is just a business to them. Both drs. Are really terrible. The old one is expressionless, he has his own world does not communicate well and keep things to himself. You have to ask to get something (if lucky) out of him. Surprisingly his around pets despite his depressed look and demeanor!
The second dr is really new and terrible, she is learning every day, misdiagnosing your pet illness in a common thing not an exception! One of the receptionists has a nice smile, but boy she is mean like a devil! Please do me a favor, do not use them! They are simply raw people and their main goal is to get your money! If you really love and care about your pets, these people are not the right one for your loved ones!

Care more about money than animals  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I loved Dr. Berger and continued to go after he left-- What a mistake! Dr. Yen has little connection with animals and is always trying to upsell products. Just because they bought a new dental x-ray machine does not mean every patient needs x-rays to help them pay for it! Come on, why would I get a full dental on a 6 month old kitten??? The staff used to be the one benefit of going there, but lately they seem to get an entirely new set of techs monthly. They are very disorganized, losing the samples they took from my animals before the labs were run. Not only did they make me bring my dog back in to take new samples, but they wanted to charge me for another office visit!!
DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!

This one time...  5 Star Rating - World class

I had a housemate who used to bike to and from campus. Anyhow, one day he was rounding a corner and some car pulled out into him allowing him to faceplant right out front of the vet clinic there. Thankfully it is run by decent people who helped him out even though he's not a cat. Such decency in dealing with strangers must surely translate to a good bedside manner with precious pets.

We think the world of Campus Veterinary Hospital!!  5 Star Rating - World class

We originally started going to Campus Vet when Dr. Berger was still there. Now, Dr. Simon Yen runs the place. Dr. Yen has been fabulous. He's very kind and gentle with the animals and empathetic with the owners.

We've had tumors removed and biopsied on one of our dogs and had to euthanize our elderly cat due to extreme decline in health.

Dr. Yen was wonderful through all our pets trials and tribulations. We actually live in the Oakland Hills but travel to Berkeley for vet care.

When our cat passed away, Dr. Yen took impressions of our cats paw prints for us. It was a very kind and sweet gesture.

PROS: Has parking, can usually get in on short notice, will return e-mails
CONS: It's a bit out of our way, but we wouldn't go to any other vet!
