I have to tell you, I LOVE this place. I'm going to call them for take-out tonight. I'm going to pick up two orders of lasagna, one mushroom and goat cheese and the other just their regular meat and marinara, and I'm going to take them home to my husband, and we're going to pig out until we can't breathe because the food is just so damn good. The dine-in experience is charming and comfortable. When you eat here, oh, and you will...prepare yourself that the hot rolls with garlic and mozzarella are addictive. You will not be able to stop eating them. But please try. Your food is coming, and no one likes a glutton.

Pros: The food is delicious, the service has always been very friendly, attitude is fantastic

Cons: parking is street parking or valet only. but this is a MINOR con.

I suppose things might have changed, as I haven't been there in three years. But, the reason I quit going there was that I got sick on their food, twice! I'm willing to forgive once, maybe a bad day, perhaps it was something else I ate... etc. But after it happened a second time, I was done. It's too bad because the garlic knots are outstanding and on those occasions when the salad is fresh and crisp, it is tasty! The pizza is adequate. It's better than Domino's or Papa John's, but not by much. Definitely not among the elite. The patio is terrific when the weather is nice.

decided to hang a little low this new year's eve and go to a long, leisurely dinner with friends.

we chose this place somewhat at random. their menu made us salivate.

so glad we did. the rolls are amazing. but so is the food. we all had seafood dishes that dazzled. i highly recommend the seafood linguini. we shared a bottle of wine, drank coffee and ate tiramisu. all were right on point.

by the end of the night we were stuffed and happy and warm. the servers were very friendly and, though i'm sure we kept them longer than they would have preferred on new year's eve, never rushed us. we'll definitely be back!

Pros: the food, the wine, the atmosophere, the servers.

Cons: we paid to self park, valet seems pointless because the lot is right there.

Wow! What a great find near Universal Studios. The Pizza and food in general was way above our expectations.

My friend and I were debating on were to have a late lunch after we went to the theater, Zach's was the choice. We got there about 15 minutes before the opened, but went in an had a drink, and some of their amazing bread, this stuff is so yummy. I ordered the portabella mushroom ravioli with this amazing sauce. so good. Zach in Studio City is really a cute quaint place, I would say its a great date place, good for out door seating when the weather is nice or just a place were some friends can catch up.

This place has the best pizza in Los Angeles. The pasta dishes, I wasn't too crazy about, but they aren't bad by any means. The dinner rolls (which consist of pizza dough, garlic butter, and Mozzarella cheese) are the best things i have ever eaten in my life! The service is a bit slow at times, but it's a nice place to sit and relax.

O.k., I did a search for the street address for Zach's and I am truely shocked that someone can give this resturant a bad review! Zachs is, by far, the friendliest restaurant in the greater LA area! The food is superb, portions ample, and the rolls are worth the visit alone. Besides superior food, the atmosphere at Zachs is quite rare for a less-than-open-armed-LA. The charm is its home-like atmosphere. It looks like a house because it was a house, and the dining areas are sectioned into quant rooms, with a great patio space for outdoor dining. I suggest stop reading reviews, call a few friends and try Zachs out for yourself! I am guessing it will become one of your favorites.

I moved from NYC to LA and am so happy that I found Zach's. It has become THE restaurant that feels like "home". The waiters are so personable and friendly. The prices are so resaonable, especially in comparision to similiar restaurants in West Hollywood. They have a wonderful outdoor space, as well as several rooms inside. It's like being in someone's home, very welcoming, and you can actually hear the conversation at your table, even when the place is full, which is frequently is. The food is great. I recommend the delicious soups, pizza, and my favorite, the eggplant sandwich. I'm vegetarian, and have found plenty of options here. If you have any special requests, just ask the waitstaff. If you are looking to have a reasonably prices meal in a lovely relaxed atmosphere, this is your place.

We were first introduced to Zachs by the concierge at a local and nearby Hotel were we reside quite often. When we stated we wanted something close, good and not extraordinarily expensive she sated from personal experience Zachs was the place.

After having previously eaten at multiple Beverly Hills restaurants which entailed long drives, traffic and poor service at a premium price for substandard food we gave it a try.

We have been regulars since and enjoy our time with our local friends in an atmosphere that is relaxed and very much Californian with its patio seating while enjoying superb food, excellent service, and all at reasonable prices.

Not your average Italian restaurant. Great sauces, creative and absolutely delicious pasta dishes. The dinner rolls that are served are remarkable. I have to remind myself not to eat so many because the meal is coming. They are hot, filled with the perfect about of garlic and cheese. No reason to add butter! They have a wide variety of salads that are delightful and there is not one dish that I have had that wasn't fantastic. The staff is incredible, fun and very personable. As a regular I feel like a good friend coming over for dinner. The added plus is that they also deliver. When we have friends come from out of town we take them first to Zach's and now when they come return they always want to go to Zach's!

In a world full of boring, loud, overpriced chain restaurants it's nice to have a place like Zach's which reminds us of the way a restaurant experience SHOULD be. Every time I go not only am I greeted happily, but I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes to get a table. The inside is very welcoming and quaint, and the patio area is amazing. Once you have been seated, they will bring you endless baskets of garlic-cheese rolls.....I have been known to have cravings for these when I haven't gone in a while. The menu has something for everyone!! From Cheese Ravioli, to Thai Chicken Pasta, to Mussels, to Debbie's Favorite Pizza (I can't begin to tell you how delicious this one is); I have never had anything at Zach's that I did not like. If you get a salad, I recommend their House Italian Dressing.... they make it from scratch and it is sooooo delicious. I was going to rent the entire restaurant to celebrate my parent's 30th wedding anniversary but the date I needed was not available. I was very sad, but I would definitely use Zach's for any future party I may need. All in all.....I LOVE ZACH'S!!!

If you want a loud, overpriced, impersonal dining experience, try any chain restaurant.
If you want ambience, delicious food, great service, and a reasonable bill go to Zach's.

I've been coming to Zach's for over 10 years and have nothing but praise for this little hideaway. Besides having the most delicious never-ending cheese rolls, the rest of the menu is amazing and extroidinarily reasonable. I am shocked anyone would say this place is expensive in a world of Buca di Beppos and Maggianos. The wait staff is always friendly and, having waited tables myself, they are as attentive and quick as any place I've ever been. You get back what you put out and this restaurant definitley shines. You can even reserve the whole place for a private function! I had a surprise birthday party with fifteen guests and the bill was less than $300 with tip! Bring your own wine for a small corkage fee or try one of the wait staff's suggestions. You can not go wrong by trying this place out for lunch or dinner. Thursday night has the most amazing cream of broccoli soup you'll ever try! Do not pass this place up! Believe me, you'll love it!

Go to Zachs for the ambience, the delicious Italian food, the to-die-for garlic knots, and the amazing prices. You can't go wrong here. It has the feel of an old cute house - dim lights, twinlky lights and all. Great afforable wine selections and delicious desserts too. Can't say enough good things about Zachs!

My salad came with pieces of wilted brown lettuce and had bottled caesar dressing thrown on top. The pasta was served covered in cold, canned sauce and vegetables that were still partly frozen. Most shocking of all -- the place was busy!

3/19/05. we start out by not seeming to have a server as he took over 10 minutes to come over to our section. he took the order of the people who came in AFTER us, who were served 10 minutes BEFORE us. he came once to see how we were doing, never showed again. 15 minutes after we finished, the busboy came to take our plates. when i said i wanted to take my leftovers home, the bus boy brought me a box to do my own wrapping up. still no sign of our server. i complained to the manager, who took the more expensive entree off of our bill and assured us that he would speak to the server. i was far from convinced by that timid little man. the food was semi-decent and overpriced, and the terrible service will guarantee that i never return.

I love going to Zachs on Ventura Blvd in Studio City. Their pasta is made there and so good. Their sauces are great, alfredo being my favorite. Their Lasgana is the best. They are listed in the Entertainment Book so you get buy one meal get one free type of deal. I like to sit outside so me and my friends do not have to be as quiet as you do inside.

PROS: Good food, fresh pasta
CONS: parking is hard

My wife and I ate here about a year ago. We thought it was bad and vastly overpriced, but we just gave it another chance. Our first impressions were correct. The only thing decent here is the rolls.

Amazing Italian food. Warm weather, sit outside for a nice change. Heaters are on when its a little chilly. We have been going here for a few years now and have a favorite waiter, Brian. Make sure you sign up for their frequent dining club. Add your name and address and birthdays of family and coupons come in the mail monthly. On birthdays, coupon for a free dinner with a purchased dinner is presented. Hazlenut Chicken is scrumptuous as all their dishes. Usually no wait and their is valet parking but we usually find a spot on the block or around the back.

Zach's is amazing! I'm sorry it took me so long to try it, but my husband and I had one of the best dinner experiences ever here! The chicken ravioli is to-die-for. I ate it up so fast that the waiter couldn't believe his own eyes. Exceptional service, cozy atmosphere, and an extensive menu makes Zach's my new #1 regular restaurant to visit when I'm craving great Italian dishes. They even brew their own pale ale, which must be good because they sold out! Did I mention the warm rolls with melted mozzarella in the center? Ten million thumbs up!

Tucked away off Ventura Blvd, you've got a garden atmosphere, friendly staff, good food, at good prices. REmains a solid favorite of mine even though I've moved to the other side of the valley by now. :)
