With decades of experience in the restaurant business, long-time chef, Michael R. Clark, was proud to announce the grand opening of Michael's on Main on November 19, 2001. The restaurant is located on Main Street in Soquel and features what Michael calls cutting-edge comfort cuisine. His philosophy about comfort food means getting back to the basics, such as meat and potatoes, and keeping the prices down. Items on the menu include Corralitos Cheesy Bavarian Sausage, Santa Fe Black Bean and Corn Crab Cakes, fresh seafood, three different classic pastas, freshly made salads and pot roast with mashed potatoes. Additionally, a California Farmstead Cheese Platter is featured on the small plates menu, along with several other tantalizing appetizers.

Michael's is an excellent restaurant and there food is so so good. The one thing that really stands out about Michael's is the warm feeling that you get when you go to this magnificent restaurant.

Love Michael's
by Nancy g.
I love the place...so friendly and local. I really love to go hear Cindy Edwards and The Road Hogs. There's not much of a dance floor but we seem to create one. It's always my best night out. The Bartenders are always so nice and friendly!
Ps. Love the BLT's!!!

The food here is incredible, and amazingly affordable. You can take a date there and impress her during the evening. Some nights they have bands and you can hang out with all your friends. It seems like an odd mix, yet somehow they pull it off. Did I mention the food is great?

Best Ambiance, Food and Service
by specialistro
Michael's on Main in Soquel, not only has great cocktail drink specials, but the food is fantastic. My lady friends and I had a blast last weekend. Thank you for showing us what we have been missing out on. Pricing is very realistic for the service and quality of food. Seared Ahi Tuna was one of our favorites.
Pros: Fantastic Food, Atmosphere and Service

Great bar, Great view, Great staff!
by farrahraine
Bar can get loud but good vibe and local feel. Lazy lunch on the back deck is perfect cure for hangover. Chef Clark and his staff neverr fail to amaze. If you are unhappy for any reason talk to the staff and they will make it right. Try the tuesday night food and wine pairing for a great deal.
Pros: Great food, Nice staff
Cons: None

Can't beat the ambiance, but the food could be better

Fun drinks, beautiful romantic spot on the river, nice inside decor as well w/ cozy fireplace. The food could be better (fish was overcooked and overpriced).
Pros: atmosphere
Cons: food

Mother's Day Let-down
by julie_belanger
The resturant was empty when our party of 8 was seated and was sparsely populated during our stay. After bungling our cocktails, a 20 min wait for salads, then 10 min more, 3 were served entrees, then 3 more, then minutes again for the last 2 meals. The Salmon arrived mealy and over-cooked as was the Halibut. Four of us sub'd Sauteed Spinach for starch, only one received the side. The others received a few raw spinach leaves on their plate. When asked, the wait-person seemed confused since we received the few leaves already. We ordered sides, which arrived as we finished our meal. We ordered dessert, again the wait person returned to announce they were out of another request. The check arrives, and we discover a 20% ($50) gratuity added for the party of 8. Call this the last ha-ha!
Pros: Good parking, Not crowded
Cons: Poor service, Poor knowedge, Price vs. Quality

I had a great dining experience at Michaels! The staff totally walked me through my order and I was so impressed with the presentation of the meal. Just Fantastic! The menu is so fresh and colorful, I just loved every minute of it. Thanks so much and my wife wants to thank you too. Maybe now I can get away from her cooking a little more....
