ISaddleback Hospital is also affiliated with another urgent care in Lake Forest. Though the two offices are associated with each other, Monarch Healthcare considers them separate practices. I know that that the Saddleback Family and Urgent Care in Lake Forest takes all Monarch patients regardless of who is listed as the PCP on your card. Their office is off of Lake Forest Dr and I think the cross road is Rockfield. It's in the center by the car dealership and in the corner kind of hidden by the Subway restaurant you can see from the street.

I have been to both offices but have primarily been at the Lake Forest office since I was in 4th grade. As far as I'm concerned I just can't imagine going anywhere else! They have two doctors there (Dr Alan Berman and Dr Bernard Elpedes) two PAs and one NP instead of however many there are at the Mission Viejo office. Because they have a smaller practice the patient care seems to be more personal and the wait to be seen is usually not as long as the other office.

The office manager, Sandy, is nearly always in the office and has been an angel to both my family and I on quite a few occasions over my past 15 years as a patient.

One thing to note is that they are only open until 4 on Saturday and Sundays (the Mission Viejo office is open until 8) and they are generally closed on holidays like Christmas and the 4th of July.

I hope my two cents can help out some of you. I know healthcare can be a big pain, especially the insurance mumbo jumbo that seems like it takes a PhD to understand.

I have been going to this clinic for the past several months...everyone there from the front office staff to NP to doctors are wonderful, particularly Dr. Stouder...

There is not much a wait when I have been there and all doctors take their time and are genuinely interested in making me better...

I would highly recommend them! Adriana

These people were rude and refused service to my wife with a fever and an infection. This clinic is part of the Monarch heath system. We changed our insurance from Blue Cross to Blue Shield. Blue Shield mistakenly put our wrong doctor down that does not belong to this clinic. Blue Shield sent authorzation to Monarch and this clinic would not accept a fax from Blue Shield and Monarch for authorazation. Monarch screwed up and threw away 2 of the 3 faxes because they thought they were the same authorazation although they were for my wife and 2 children. So this urgent care made my wife sit there for over 4 hours would not take her. Eventhough she had been a patient for 5 years there. Dont ask me why Monarch couldnt get the fax straighten out. But this clinic was rude, the women were caddy, they were taking personal phone calls. Dont use them if you valvue your health.

I have been impressed with how friendly and professional the place is for an "urgent care" They have been my family's doctors for three years now. I switched because I could never get into my regular doctor when I needed her. She's nice but the doctor's here are just as nice and can do things she can't - like xrays and stitches even on the weekends. I recommend calling for an appt if you can because they often are busy but I like being able drop by and be seen the same day I get sick. Even then I'm usually in and out in an hour. Basically, I just think they're great!

I really love the doctors there. I usually have to go two or three times a year. I trust the care I get there. I've been to other places but often left without really knowing what was wrong and why I got the prescription I did. It's often busy but I take that as a sign that others feel the way I do. I've been to the ER's in the area but never got the same quality of care that I routinely get at the Saddleback Urgent Care. Even though I know their days must be long the doctors are energetic, happy, very thorough and explain what's going on in ways I can easily understand !I started going there for emergencies but now they're my regular doctor. I even schedule my woman physicals there.I highly recommend it.

My family and I have been patients of Saddleback and Family Urgent Care in Mission Viejo since we moved here from the midwest 12 years ago. We love the place! The doctors and Tory are very friendly and caring. They correctly diagnosed my appendicitis when I thought I had the stomach flu. My whole family over the years have been seen for the assorted illnesses and fractures. It is convenient that they have xrays on premises and are open on weekends and open til 8 pm most days. I can make an appointment if I know in advance. And the best thing is their doctors are the same ones I've been seeing since we moved here. I've been to other places that have "moonlighters" cover their urgent care who seemed more interested in getting to their next person. And although they aren't an emergency room - they have wonderfully taken care of everything my family has thrown at them for 12 years. We're very happy to have them as our doctors.

We've been using the Saddleback Urgent care center in Mission Viejo for our primary medical needs for the past 20 years. We've gotten to know every doctor, every nurse-practitioner, and every aide. The care there is excellent. The doctors are all knowledgeable, kind, and take the time to listen to you. Having an x-ray facility on site is very handy, too. And being able to see your doctor anytime seven days a week is phenomenal. And yes, we've had some very serious health issues, that were always well taken care of or well referred to specialists. This is how healthcare should be: available when needed.

I don't know how the doctors are because I was refused service there. I had a 102 fever, I looked flushed and I was almost delirious. My insurance is compatible with that clinic but because I had arrived there 10 minutes later (7:42 instead of 7:30), I was denied assistance or care by the person at the front desk.
All the resources I had checked (website of the clinic, voice message) said the place closes at 8pm.
I am from Minnesota, where you can believe what a clinic says about their opening hours. Imagine my surprise when the person I first saw in that clinic, greeted me with a grumpy, know-it-all look saying that I could not be seen by a doctor even after I had patiently explained to her the gravity of my condition. I also explained that I wasn't aware of this unwritten rule that says 8pm actually means 7:30.
Nothing worked. She was very aggressive when she denied me access; her attitude seemed to say "how dare you disturb me at the end of my program".
While I was trying to logically reason my way in, since I felt I was going to faint soon, she reached down to her pelvic area and began scratching it compulsively. And it wasn't some surreptitious, delicate or short-lived gesture, it went on for a pretty long time. She also asked for my insurance card and she took it with the same hand with which she had scratched her private area.
Now I understand that someone who works at the front desk doesn't have to have the medical knowledge of a doctor, but they should have been trained on two important issues:
1. high fever may very well cause all sorts of dangerous conditions, it can even lead to organ failure if it stays high for a long time. You don't dismiss with brutality and without getting more information someone in this condition.
2. scratching your privates before a patient is unsanitary, disgusting and dangerous because a person with a low immune system can catch bugs much more easily than a perfectly healthy one. It also shows no courtesy, politeness and no education. I really wonder how she got that job. Furthermore, these clinics need to warn their patients somehow that 8 pm means 7:30pm. How is an outsider supposed to intuitively know this? And finally is it really such a stretch of imagination to ask from insurances which we pay through the nose for, to pay their assistants and a couple doctors to stay another 1/2 hour over their precious program?

This medical group also has private patients, of which I am one. First, let me say all the physicians there are very nice, but also, my comments relate only to my experiences. There may very well be other patients who have had different experiences. To my surprise, I just felt that all the physicians I'd seen there, which is all of them, most of them more than once, we're missing the mark on diagnosing me with a variety of different complaints. With that said, the Nurse Practitioner and Physician's Assistant who work there (both female, sorry, can't recall their names) are excellent and have been accurate in their diagnosis'. I now specifically ask for either of them when I have to go in, and feel I'm in good hands.
