This is the spot to go for a late night snack. Missing the diners on the east coast this one comes close. Cheap prices and the service was very warm and friendly. I always found parking as well.

this says it all: their pastrami doesn't stack up to jerry's or junior's, nor do their desserts nor their mazo ball soup. go to jerry's or junior's.

I don't know what it is with all of these reviews saying Izzy's is just "okay" or super-greasy etc. I just went there for the first time and I found the atmosphere super-cool, the wait staff among the best, and the food overall excellent.

If it's late at night (or early in the morning) and you're looking for a place to eat on the Westside, skip Jerry's and go to Izzy's. The prices are better, and the food is much, much better. They offer all the usual deli food, except that everything is named after somebody. You know you're at Izzy's when your order has a person's name. I like to get the corned beef hash breakfast there, but the sandwiches are supposed to be their best items-- especially the Reuben sandwiches.

PROS: Better than Jerry's Deli

The food isn't bad at this place and it's great for bagels and soup. The service is touch and go -- just depends on who your server is. You know the lazy ones pretty quickly and try to avoid sitting in their stations! Prices are average. Parking is also a pain; their spaces are always filled and street parking in Santa Monica is scarce during business hours.

Overpriced diner with lackluster staff and ambience. And lackluster is putting it nicely. I had to wait like 12 years to get a friggin coffee in the morning. Their ad slogan should be "if you're in a hurry forget Izzy's".

This is one of the few 24 hour places open in Santa Monica. The food is average. But the classic LA deli feel with signed headshots of celebrities. The BUNN coffee warmers and the greasy french fries. Love it.
