They offer traditional Japanese dishes like sushi, sashimi, tempra, teriyaki chicken etc. They are all good but not extremely fantastic like some Japanese restaurants in Torrance. I like the atmosphere of this place. Parking is plenty.

Irori, formally East, is one of the best Japanese restaurants in the LA area. It is not one of the trendier LA Japanese restaurants like Katana or Blowfish, but it is very authentic and always satisfies my Japanese food craving. The seating and atmosphere is very fun, from taking off your shoes to sitting on the ground, however because of this unique seating arrangement, I don??t recommend this restaurant for large groups(there is only one big table), very young kids or babies or people with back problems (my BF??s dad can??t eat here because sitting on the floor without a chair hurts his back). I usually opt to get a combination dinner which includes beef teriyaki, tempura and sashimi with the usual soup and salad, all of which is reasonably priced for the quality of the food, about $20 I believe. I found it a bit odd that the green tea is not complimentary however the service is usually efficient which makes up for this. There is plenty of parking however I have found that if you go without a reservation at busier times, the wait is pretty long. If you are skeptical about trying Irori for dinner, go for lunch- the quality of the food is the same but it is less crowded, more casual and the lunch special prices are unbeatable!

This is one of my favorite Japanese restaurants. It's conveniently located in Marina Del Rey in a busy shopping center. Tons of parking. It's a fun take on Japanese culture. You take your shoes off before entering dining area. It appears as if you are sitting on your knees Japanese style, but you are actually sitting with your feet underground in a comfortable position. It is somewhat reasonably priced, but sometimes expensive depending on what you order. I love their Kanpachi Sashimi with Jalepeno. It's mouth-watering. Lots of great food to match the price. I frequent this restaurant often and highly recommend it. Staff is friendly, too.

Love this restaurant. Kind of don't want to tell people about it- but I'm raising money for my job. It's quiet and serene, hidden in the back of a very busy shopping mall/parking lot. It's very reasonably priced for pretty generous portions of what I consider GOOD, authentic, Japanese food, (being Japanese myself). None of that trendy fusion crap. If you like to dine with your shoes on and/or have a problem sitting on the floor, this place is not for you.
