I have eaten here several times. I like the food, and the portions are pretty good as well. I like it because it isn't too greasy. It isn't the best food, but it tastes good, and prices are not too bad.

I agree with Rod, if the weather is extreme, expect it to be that way in the stand. But very good food and you can't beat the price. They make really good menudo. In my opinion, the carne asada is more flavorful than the carnitas. Oh, and the lengua is to die for.

This is the BEST Mexican food in Pasadena. Their burritos are monster in size and flavor. The soft shell tacos are filled with very tender meat with varieties of chicken, shredded beef,or pork. This little fast food stand even has an "A" rating by the L.A. county dept of heath!

My test for burrito/taco stands and small Mexican places is the chile verde plate, carnitas and carne asada (usually in a soft taco, perhaps in a burrito) and the huevos rancheros. (Btw, if you're hungry and short on dinero, huevos rancheros is usually a heck of a deal at most places...plenty of protein and flavor, and usually under $5...only $3.99 at El Super Burrito.)

El Super Burrito is the best place of it's kind I've tried in the West San Gabriel Valley; ESB passes on all of these counts. There are other burrito stands, but none putting out the flavored meats and Mexican sauces like this eatery.

Keep in mind, it's outdoor eating, but that's part of the working class beauty of this place: you'll hear mostly Mexican (a hint that you're in the right place) and some English spoken in the little patio, but there's always one or two Japanese or Chinese groups getting a lunch there and chatting away in native tongue.

I recommend the North East most tiled table, and face North: enjoy the view of Mt Wilson and the front range of the San Gabs while you sample the wares.

PROS: Great carnitas & carne asade meats, solid chile verde, local color at noon
CONS: If it's triple digits, expect to be hot, maybe do it take out

Step up to the window and order from the menu on the wall. The burritos are huge and very tasty as are most other things I've tried. Mostly a take-out taco stand unless you want to sit at one of the four or so picnic tables outside.
